Sir earlier i used to watch nptel when o had doubt but as it is too lengthy it consumes lot of time but u complete it in minimum time and dont even forget to give even the minute details....
Guys pls watch the ad in between the video...this is our responsibility if anything good happens with sir....also sir pls provide ur account details...as interested people may contribute it if they want..
    Thank u so much sir...
    Pranam

Hello sir, this is Shubham. Hope you remember me, batch of 2013-17 EEE.
It is said that damper winding is not used in cylindrical rotor synchronous machine, as elimination of hunting in cylindrical rotor is achieved by flow of eddy currents in solid rotor core.
So, my question is why the same doesn't happen in a salient pole machine?

Thank you for clear presentation. Why is the large R necessary for quick response? Why is quick response necessary? The L/R is only the time constant of decay of the opposing flux or current, wouldn’t the damping flux be stronger with a lower R? The large R also cause higher heat on the rotor right? The relative speed between main field and the negative seq should be 3Ns not 2Ns right? Since the negative seq frequency is twice of the fundamental freq. Seeking you kind advice. To.

sir, you mentioned by reversing the phase sequence of input negative phase sequence comes.
    1. but that would be the case for motor, how that would happen in alternator (as here no supply is given)
2.if we talk about negative sequence emf induced in stator, so that happens when direction of rotor is reversed .

Thank u Sir, ur explanations are really very easy to understand. I would request if u could make videos on power system stability, swing equation and equal area criterion.

what do you mean hunting in an alternator? as you are saying power supplied in the alternator decreases as the rotor angle decreases how sir??

Sir Is damper winding is,made with low Resistance or high resistance ?

sir at 16.53 you said that stator relative speed = 2Ns but Ns in clkwise [ + sequence] and Ns in -ve sequence. therefore relative speed should become 0 but how it is 2Ns as they are in opp direction

sir rotor follows the stator with zero relative speed but when stator mmf rotate in anticlockwise direction how can rotor rotate in clockwise direction

Sir please tell me if the damper winding is parallel to the shaft or it is a little bit skewed just like a squirrel cage rotor??

If it is parallel to the shaft then will there be any cogging phenomenon??

Sir, I did not understand the suppression of negative sequence?

  • @mamohbiswal5922

Sir if some electrical load is removed from synchronous generator then according to swing equation rotor will accelerate and load angle will increase.... But here it is decreased plz clear my doubt.

Sir we suppress negative sequence by using of damper winding... Bu my question is why and how negative sequence will come?please explain sir

Sir, how efficiency falls down while using flywheel?

    • @shaileshbirajdar1963
      @shaileshbirajdar1963 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

As flywheel always connected to machine without doing any useful work expect reducing hunting...their is wastage of energy as it having high inertia and weight
