I graduated from IIT Bombay and I can assure that the guys like this IIT Bhilai guy get very harsh reality check when they enter college thinking they are better than everyone else. When they find that IIT is not only about academics but you need a bit of social skills as well to excel. Being humble is always helps, be it IITian or any other college. They way he is making fun of his friend for NM, it is sureshot recipe of disaster. The sooner he realize, the better. I have seen few classmates who actually not doing any good in IIT but keep boasting about big things in IIT. And after 4 years, the real outside world made them to pay for wasting their 4 years in fake ego and superiority complex.

The problem is that is how they motivate you to study that insanely hard na. Everyone tells you that bro if you get into IIT you will be better than everyone else. So you don't sleep at night and kill yourself for it. And then naturally you'll act like it. Weirdly it's only kids who are just getting in who act like it. IIT passouts are very sorted (most of them). I guess when you enter IIT you realise that you're not that special and everyone here is an IITan. And 4 years of IIT just beats the pride out of you.

Just goes to show how the pressure of getting into IIT adds insecurities about one's competence during counselling. If you notice, that guy was putting other's down to protect his own insecurities because he hasn't got the college of his dreams. Those insecurities are getting the best of him, unfortunately.

Finally some sense. Sad thing is this will never end in this country, or asian diaspora to be honest. No one will ever be content with being average or mediocre. And if someone is, people won't let that person live peacefully.
I graduated from a mediocre college we did everything except studying. Learnt many things we need in life have got decent job and living a happy life. And still aspiring for more without actually looking down upon on anyone.

I mean it with love and admiration when I say this. IITians are brilliant academically but they lack basic human instincts and social behaviour. I lost a friend of mine to IIT. The competition, the rat race, the stress. It changes a person. He was fine before he got in. But after he did, something was off about him. He wasn't even egoistic like the kid in the audience. Just.....he wasn't himself anymore. I miss his old self, and I wish he can realise that life isn't a competition, it's a celebration. Cheers.
yeah and am being an IITian this year , lost all my school friends,idk why ; they stopped talking with me probably because they thought he needs to focus , but that stop on conversations didn't end even after councelling. I wish to keep some meet up or something like that so we could rejoice again.

haven’t ever heard about IIT bhilai before! I study at Hyderabad Central University. but there’s nothing to brag about it or demean others who goes to less popular colleges. at the end of the day, what you do matters more than what institute you’re into! Satya Nadella is from Manipal university. so many IITians are unemployed! so move over the ‘IIT’ tag & look for the institutes that suits your needs cause ‘You’ matter more than the college.

As IIT Bhilai is a very new institute, thats why it runs on a transit campus and does not provide all engineering courses like electronics,civil,chemical engineering etc

Its just joh ceo ki tu baat kar raha hai na, uski uske auditor se phat ti hai, kyuki ek negative cheez audit report mai aayi and company ki shares gir jate hai and pure bod and ki lag jati hai. Also, kai companies ke BOD composition mai CA hote hai and those are above those CEOs. But, engineering ko kharab nahi bol rha hu, its just I felt that CA is better option for me than IIT delhi. And mai toh abhi CA final ka pehle attempt dene wala hu so mere under toh nahi but maine actually kai IITians ko mere CA seniors ke under humesha dekha hai. Isiliye share kiya

I study in what others call worst possible , a govt college (not engineering) but i just love it .I dont have to give a shit about college , i do things my way,Do whatever i want to and not be forced by them in any manners they just want me to clear exams and done thus i dont have to sit with others and learn c language basics which i know but i am in lab or home learning some frameworks and shit. In short be in the driving seat if u believe ur a good driver and enjoy the journey without being interrupted.

I stay in Mumbai and I have done Civil engineering from college in Karjat. Travelling was so much, it's like going to random picnic on weekends.

I am from Bhilai. But still IIT in any branch is obviously better. But the guy should research about switching to a particular branch or also can participate in IT companies by learning basic programming languages. He seems really pissed off and not happy from his current situations

I went to three colleges in India. Btech in a state college-JSS, MTech in BIT Mesra and PhD from IIT. Mark my words, unless you’re research inclined and really looking forward to using those resources, it doesn’t matter. If you go to a good state college you can learn and enjoy the same. Many of my friends who did CSE with me are in the US and doing well. All the difference is in the funds for the college fests, freedom to roam around at odd hours and yeah placement for CSE 😂 For mechanical engineers like me it’s not even a big plus! But yeah somehow I made it to the US without much arrogance 👻

I have experienced both a regional college (bachelor) and an iit (master) , academically iits are far far better and also fun was far far more in iit.
