@TheDragonmaster18 Unfortunately, Houston's mascot is the cougar. I agree with most of your points though. Sound quality is very important. And tempos of football songs are often adjusted to match crowd fervor or time limits. My highschool's stated fiight song tempo was quarter= 120. By the end of a game we were winning, it generally came out at around quarter= 156.
That's nice, but you are still just playing UH's song. THis is a UH original, composed 40 years ago by UH's Bill Moffit. But thanks for playing our song.
i go to UH, but I wish we played better songs. if that was the case i would be in the band. we need to play some real music like neck, and the latest songs on the radio.
@TheDragonmaster18 you dont know my band. we are an ALL Superior band we havent made a 2 in 30 years. we have a spirit of excellence. and i know that they are a college band but they are rushing SOOOOOO bad on The Horse. we play the Horse because our mascot is a Horse called Charger. and weve been playing this tune for so long that we know how not to rush on it.
@southerngal3355 i looked up your school's version of the horse and it was not as good as this. just because you guys get ones at UIL doesnt mean a thing. i have seen the bands who dont have a great sound get ones at UIL. just because a band rushes a song doesnt mean that its not good. in my opinion crowd pleaser tunes should be rushed to get the crowd pumped espicially if your mascot is a horse which is a fast moving animal so why not play it faster if it sounds good.
@southerngal3355 dude these guys are in a different league. most of them have marched or still march in drum corps. these guys are way better than your hih school band
the Oxford High School Marching Band from Oxford, MS can play The Horse alot better and cleaner. and i think we sound better on Eat 'Em Up too. rushing and dancing like that dont help your sound. try standing still and swaying a bit if you want to dance.
WHOSE HOUSE COOGS HOUSE!!!
cougarrrrrrrrrsssssss!!! trumpets all the way
