- In this video we check out the Nitecore MT2A Pro, an incredible slim flashlight capable of 1000 lumens max output. It features an exclusive LED, simple user interface, and the ability to run on two AA batteries. This is exactly how I'd design a flashlight in this form factor and the MT2A Pro receives top marks in my book!

I've been using it since last May and it works great. 2aa and 500 lm. i awersome.
That's actually a really nice way to use dual fuel by having two different UI's. It looks like a solid AA style flashlight for EDC.
I agree. I have had it in pocket daily since I got it (for about a week) and don’t see myself stopping anytime soon.
Great flashlight,i used about 3 months already, the nitecore light its over the olight, at lower prices and great quality, the next light to buy is mt1a pro.
Looks like a nice light. I like lights that offer flexibility with batteries and tend to stay away from lights that use non-removable batteries and ones that can't use common batteries if needed. The simple modes is a plus too. I dont like lights with super complicated UI.
The shorter MT1A is even more impressive to me. It has almost the same output at half the size. Of course, the runtimes aren't as good, BUT you can and will take it with you EVERYWHERE because it is so small. It is awesome. If they put a 1 lumen moonlight mode on it and gave it a forward-clickie (and perhaps a battery indicator), they would have the best EDC ever made IMO. I have the MT2A as well, which is also a great light. I found that on both lights, the low mode is too bright for some situations (1st world problems, I know). But in those situations, you can use the flood instead of the hotspot or even bounce it off the ceiling like a torch.
Nice! I would like to thank you because it was your comment weeks ago that got me to look into the offerings from Nitecore. Yes, I can imagine the MT1A would be excellent, so that might be the next on my list!
@PardonMyEnglish You're welcome man! It's only a little payback for all the cool lights your channel inspired me to check out! Honestly, the Olight AA lights are better for intdoors, up-close things, since they're floodier. But if you use your edc light outdoors a lot, the MT1A is gold. The Nitecore edc 35, 33, and 31 are also really good, but they have built-in batteries, which is understandably a deal breaker for many.
Why does Nitecore not have high CRI flashlights?
Good question. I cannot speak for them but my observation is that they seem to prioritize brightness when it comes to their LEDs.
I dont like the special battery, event when you can use normal AAs. Also 50lm is far too bright for low in my opinion. Nevertheless great review, as usual on you channel
Thanks! And good point about the low mode. It is already pretty bright so it wouldn’t be great if one needed to read something in the dark, for example.
For a compact thrower I settled on Weltool T1 TAC. An EDC/Tactical from Nitecore for me is EDC23.
This one is definitely a pass for me. This beam profile / UI combo has no use for me.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and what works well for you. I have an EDC23 and that video will come out in the next week or two. I like the switch configuration/UI but the waterproof rating and clip configuration leave a bit to be desired in my humble opinion. Crazy bright for its size though!
@PardonMyEnglish yes, EDC23 is not perfect by any means. For me it's a good tool for dealing with dogs and surprisingly good outdoors light.
For EDC it's not my first choice. Baton 3 Pro or Warrior Nano or Wurkkos TS10 for me these days.
That rubber tailswitch is gross tho
Ummmmmmm could just be me but those did NOT look like square threads. They looked like tapered threads brah?
They are small and hard to see but indeed they are squared.
