I actually found a different method for Liberation skip while playing on Switch, although it may have been found before. Basically, when you grab the Automap, jump and ballista boost while holding backwards just at the top of the stairs and don’t change the angle at all. You’ll land on a tiny bit of collision and get a hard fall, and you can use the double jump to make it to the ledge. To me, it’s a little more new player friendly and doesn’t lose much time
Was a pleasure watching, as always 🙂 Although I frequently watch your videos, I obviously didn't consume every comment you make. Especially not on Twitch. So I'm really interested in the following thing: after having played Eternal so much and now getting deep into 2016: which game do you prefer? As a speedrunner and from the casual gamer's perspective. I heard several comments about that, but I can never tell, if it's ironic or not 😀
I always phrased it like this.
Eternal has better gameplay.
2016 is the better game.
Overall, both games are really broken and I have my grievances with, but both are In different ways. Eternal is a buggy mess, you are able to play through them. While the few bugs in 2016 will kill you full stop, but happen much less frequently.
I think I still like Eternal more, from both a casual and speedrunner standpoint because it is so much faster paced. But those are my preferences talking.
I think the best overall experience is playing the Eternal DLCs (for speedruns).
While casually, I think it's down to preference for 2016 or Eternal us better. (But I'm in camp Eternal)
@@Raitro_ That's a decent answer, thanks! 🙂 I loved playing 2016 and played it regularly for quite a while. Then I played Eternal for quite a while. Everything as a casual gamer. Eternal felt a lot harder, but when you learned it and are able to do the Doom dance as Hugo Marting was putting it, it feels just great. Ultra Nightmare is still not my skill level, because of perma death, but I can make my way through it on Nightmare ;-) I recently tried a 2016 Classic Level again (which felt very hard in the beginning, until you master them) and failed terribly 😀
But I agreee, both games are very different from each other and have their own pros. And I really appreciate, that they did not just copy 2016, but created something that feels so different...

It's as simple as holding LMB and RMB when swapping to the gauss cannon. View the input display for exact timings

Have you ever even tried a Ultra Nightmare, no scroll-to-jump, no meathook, no armor, no heavy cannon, no ballista, no damage taken, inverted controls on an electric drum kit, no dashing, no weapon mods, no blood punch, no audio, no chainsaw, lowest possible resolution, lowest possible brightness, all enemies killed, while drunk, hanging from the ceiling the entire time, on current patch, walking everywhere backwards, sub-30 base game + DLC speedrun?

This was actually quite entertaining and impressive. However I cannot stand commercial breaks every five minutes so I regrettably have to leave the last two hours unseen.
I learned many things. The masteries tricks will be super useful.

What's your trick for swapping weapons quickly? Surely you aren't reaching all the way to the standard #1-9 on the top row. Custom keybinds? Mouse buttons?
If you look at the input display, the numbers are actually bound to side mouse buttons (I use 9 side mouse keys for this game)

default moving speed for Doomguy is way slower maybe half that, if not less.

im having a lot of trouble on the first level, ive tried killing zero enemies as well as kill the one zombie he kills in this footage and every time i get to the end of the level the doors are still locked is there a setting or is this on a specific game version or something? does loading in the final boss of the game also make the first level function this way too cause i havent been doing that cause i dont have a 100% save file rn and im so confused
id like to figure it out cause im trying to get an un run completed and being able to do the first few levels quickly is really nice, also being able to do speedrun strats for levels is really satisfying

How do you do the rail boosts? Ive been trying it on my nintendo switch, but ive been finding it very difficult to attempt. The only result im getting is jumping from a height of the railing in mid air repeatedly without the double jump boots/moon boots.
You need to stand in a certain position and, I think, look in a certain spot. Each railboost that he uses has its own required precise position. Also to perform a boost you need a high fps, depending on the how far and fast you want to go, which I'm not sure Switch can give ye. However, a bigger problem might be is that it just doesn't work on Switch.
i dont think the switch is capable of hitting the framerate required to rail boost. if you look at his inputs on the first one in the uac though, what he does is hug the rail, jump and hold back in the air for a little bit, then hold forward. Basically you're just almost landing on a rail.

Menu is slightly active before it pops up on screen. It's actually a really lenient input window :)
Question, are there any data logs you cannot get in UNM? I'm also going for 100%, and I don't have the first "Doom Marine" Data Log, and I don't know where I can find it.

you're locked in that room before you can even grab the cell and there is no railboostable collision in that room
