If I'd just tried to follow the IKEA "instruction sheet", I would have ended the day convalescing in a home for the mentally deranged. Thanks for this, there were a host of things I'd completely misunderstood from the "instructions" but now I'm sitting with a cup of tea admiring my lovely Besta cabinets.

I have a TV stand that the doors lign up with the unit is pushed, but at rest will sit crooked.
I've tried adjusting it multiple times with guess work and suggestions from the Internet.
Today I stumbled across this video and realised I only needed to adjust one screw on each hinge. Now, thanks to you and this video, the doors sit straight! Thank you so so much

I have assembled the LOMMARP except for the doors, with some help from my husband. I have procrastinated putting the doors on because I'm afraid that I can't get them on right and the doors aligned right. You are so clear in explaining how install these and work out the problems. Thank you. I will probably watch this again 100 times when I attempt this.

I paid ikea for installation and all the doors are slanted and the ikea staffs told me coz the cupboard is empty once u fill them up it'll be straight. F**k ikea

Great video! I almost gave up adjusting my doors. For some reason I did not realize those middle screws were the main calibrator for the horizontal alignment. Thank you!

Great video, I hope to use this to solve a needed adjustment to my cabinet doors in my new place tomorrow. Just one observation, at 3:28 the "little gauge" is on the topside of my hinges, a position which matches the Ikea booklet - for a moment I thought you had juxtaposed the hinge placements - of course I have a different Ikea cabinet.
I’m guessing your door is hinged on the heft side & the one in the video is on the right. They don’t have a “left” or “ right” hinge, you simply turn it upside down. That’s why your gauge is on top while mine is not. Thanks for watching and commenting
Hello, excellent video describing ikea diy properly and very easy to follow. The problem I have is with the actual door, the hinges just do not sit flush, what do I have to do to correct this ?
Check 1:47 in the video. You have to make sure that you tighten the screas so that is flush. It should work; it's designed to, but not tightening the screws could cause this.

Any idea what those four metal brackets with the longer screws are for? No information about them or where they belong. the rest of your video was super helpful! I've played around too much with the screws though, so my door is totally messed up. I'll have to try to get it back to the original position.
Thanks for the video ! Im having issues with my hinges on the LOMMARP cabinet doors. I do not know why but the top 2 screws that attach the door to the furniture will NOT SCREW in to the holes, only halfway and they won't come out....I don't know what to do,
You’ll have to get them out first. Use the largest screw driver you can with a good quality driver end; if the screw driver slips it can strip the screw head & make removal more challenging. A larger screwdriver gives you more leverage and power. Go slow. When you get them out, coat the screw threads with bar soap which will lubricate them and make them easier to screw in. Good luck!

Those are shelf supports brackets.
Great Video. to the point and clear. I can't post an image unfortunately. So at the 42 second mark there is the plastic bag of parts with drawings of the parts and quantity. In the middle there are 2 sets of clips and screws.. I cannot find anywhere what they are for ??? Help please. thx
Those are brackets for the shelves to set on. There are 4 of them for every shelf, 2 on each side.

What do you do if the soft hinge isn't closing soft? Those plastic parts are too loose & I can't find any way to tighten them so they close more softly.

did not show details of attaching hinge to cabinet. Do I disassemble hinge or do I leave hinge connected.
Don’t disassemble it! You might have to partially close it to access the screws
I have an issue with my cabinet door. I bought some new hinges but they don't expand into the hole as the previous ones did- so I need to screw the hinges to the door. here's my problem- the screws just rotate inside the round plain holes in the door. Do I need dowels so the screws hold the hinge to the door? Thanks in advance!
That would work, but I think I’d start by going to IKEA and explain the problem. I have to imagine they have appropriate hinges that fit the product they are selling.

Yes it is. I think it may have come with the hinge kit.
But how did you connect the hinges?
Not sure of your question. The hinges screw into the pre-drilled holes. I first attached the hinges to the door, then screwed them into the appropriate holes on the cabinet. Then it's just about alignment.
@@AverageMe Ah. My hinges are in two parts and you need to attach one part to the door and the other to the inside of the cabinet, and then they click together. I didn't know there were so many ikea hinges.
Hey man great video, can you let me know the interior dimensions of that Ikea besta? For example I know the depth of the besta is 15 3/4, but that's for the whole cabinet. What about the inside depth?
Just shy of 15", maybe 14-7/8". Also about 12-7/8 H & 22" W (one compartment)

Very frustrating. You completely skipped the hanging of the door and moved right on to adjusting. Holding the door in place while aligning the screws with holes and screwing in the screws is tricky (I don't have enough hands!) and the reason I watched this video. Quite a letdown.

The ikea staffs did a lousy job for me. I though the doors are meant to be slanted. 🤬🤬🤬 to think that ikea charge so much for installation
