What a fantastic grouping of planar drivers. I’m really glad you put to rest the whole re-tuning myth surrounding the mp145. Your findings were my suspicions all along. Thank you for all u do for the community Tony. We love it when you get carried away. It shows your passion for the hobby.
The masterpiece of planar IEM reviews. Very very good summary. One thing that has become unacceptable is the driver inconsistency. I have an ARTTI T10 and I love everything about it except the stereo imbalance. Unfortunately, based on this video, it does not give me much confidence to get any other planar magnetic, since they all have similar drivers, and I cannot be sure of which manufacturer actually does tests to control the quality.
Best planar iem comparison. A good balance of measurement and experience. Absolutely love the sound of my P1 Max, it is just sublime in sound. However, like yourself I find the nozzle too short, same as the S12. One of Panda's 2-pin connectors i going loose, so may need to replace. The MP145 looks enticing though bassier than the P1 Max. The tuning of the S15 looks closest to the P1 Max, but very pricey. Makes me interested to know what the P1 Plus sounds like as it is even flatter in its curve.
Nice you cleared the silent revision thing on the mp145. I didn't buy one in recent sales because of that. I'll wait for the next sales season and choose either that or the shozy depending on price.
The best planar I have tried so far is the Campfire Audio Supermoon. I got it for $500 on eBay and it's amazing. The semi custom fit also makes everything just that much freaking better. It's crazy how good the fit is
I actually like the look of the stock cable. I am using thin cables on many of my earphones and they work very well, especially on the go. So long as the impedance is .5 Ohm or below, cable is pliable and non-microphonic, it's good.
I tried many planars - but settled on P1Max (second, the first ones had problems with bass). And I will say - after 300-400 hours of burning, the HF of Panda are greatly tamed. If on the new ones I used 4-5mm tips (such as kbear07 and Sancai), then after 300 hours I began to miss the high frequencies even with the most open ones (7mm), such as Latex, Spring and Azla Original. At the same time with Panda there were Shuoer S12 - there are too bright high frequencies against the backdrop of a retracted midrange (not enough emotions), and the same Tea2 loses even more strongly in the midrange.
Shozy p20 for $73 dlls... any other better option? Still worth it? Is it a nice price? I have the F1 PRO, SIMGOT EA500LM, KEFINE DELCI, ARTTI T10, for example... and im trying to get another for my collection... so, worth the $73 dlls? or ...is there a better option ? Thx. (Im waiting for the MP143, but I think Hidizs is going to send it untill October.)
I recently got mp145 for 125 Euros. Already finding best fitting, but great sounding. Way better than 7hz Timeless. Which tips/filter work better for you Tony?
I dont see how anyone can justify any of these other planars when the Artti t10 exists for $45. Mp145 were an instant return for me. Divinus velvet tips are a great pairing
That stock cable is a deal killer at this price point, imho. There's are just too many solid alternatives that deliver better value. I bought my MP145 for US$125 on sale, about 7 mo. ago, on AliEx.
great details as always. I'm new in the hobby, what's a planar sound? I have the NiceHCK F1 PRO i find it clean but too clean. I'm coming from an Aria 2. I use it for busy music like metal.
Can you please tell us if Aria 2 is better than f1 pro? Please explain in bass and clarity and fun if possible and if F1 pro is better in anything 😊 thanks 😊
My ears are highly sensitive to planar timbre, especially on the S12, that have an underlying metallic sound representation to me, can you make out this problem with any of your planar iems? Some people can hear it, some don't know what I'm talking about, just wondering if you've ever sat down with a planar iem and gone, "Yuck, that's totally wrong!"?

Tony you are the live LEGEND period.

Very good breakdown and information about the market of Chi-Fi planars. Great review and comparison as always 🙏

I love this set!!!

Actually, I tend to use heavier cables for heavy IEMs and vice versa with the lighter ones. They counterbalance each other to help secure the fit.
Which light weight modular cables do you have? Looking for a silver or gold one.
hey Tony, you skipped the kiwiears Melody!
“I have got a serious mental case” 😂😂, kn9w that feeling.
very nice one! You recommended the ARTTI T10, I got it and I am very happy!

Great review. Thanks for sharing.
Was it Kiwi Ears Melody that uses 13 something mm planar? Must be different enough from the rest.
Kz is 13.3
8:34⚡ Hahaahahahahaa!😆

I bought the Artti T10 during the last sale, hope I like them.
They're going for under US$60 on sale on AliEx these days. That's a steal for this level of performance.
Try the penon grey green tips it works the best with me 😊
What cable do you have connecting ur tp50 to the amp? Its so pretty.

36:36 background sound, lol.

$60 for the f1 pro in the last ali sale
Please do P1 Max II vs original P1 Max.

1. Order $70 P20 from linsoul
2. Order bunch of different 4.8mm $1 mesh filters from ali
3. ????
4. Profit
I saw something indicating the new driver was actually cheaper than the older 14.2?
36:36 funny moment.
Waiting for supertfz force 1 and tiandirenhe td15 review🫡
Your ears must be very different from mine - I consider the T10 shells some of the best fitting shells I've tried (among the 100 or so iems).

Clean is you could say is a characteristic of a planar driver, It is great for detail/treble but less so for the lower frequencies/bass.
Can you please tell us if Aria 2 is better than f1 pro? Please explain in bass and clarity and fun if possible and if F1 pro is better in anything 😊 thanks 😊
