    you have a collection that is fabulous and love on them like I do! My addiction to succulents started at the end of this August and omg I have 2 big tables full and 4 grow lights. You inspire me to try and learn the names..what a job! I just retired from owning a staging company and now I love making arrangements with these succulents..I am learning, learning a learning! thanks for sharing your knowledge..I think it is important for all the people who have channels to say in every video where you are located so new people don't think they can do everything you do..each planting zone is different. Next step for me GREENHOUSE!!! Keep being funny and sweet!

      Hi Laura, Regarding your comment "to say in every video where you are located so new people don't think they can do everything you do."
      Let me say that everybody can do what I do but they obviously have to adjust the growing environment to suit the plant they're growing. For example, non frost hardy plants have to be kept indoors or in a protected environment. Thanks for watching and have a great day! Cheers, Liz

    Thank you, Thank you maam Liz .So happy that you made this vlog .i was thinking a lot last week to ask you to feature in your vlog about greenovia. In fact just 2 hrs .ago i picked up my greenovia pandora cluster to its sellers house it was ordered from Korea and i was advice to put it in the ref.on lowest shelves (for vegies) so that it can feel the cold temp. I have one greenovia dodrantalis/dodrentalis over a month ago and i potted it and its still close same as the newly acquired greenovia pandora cluster. I dont know if i have to keep it in ref .during the day and take out at night time till morning or just leave it in an airy area with no direct. sunlight

      When a plant goes dormant, it's the equivalent to people going to sleep. Some plants need to stay asleep so they can build up energy for the next growing season. So if people don't get enough sleep, we get tired and grumpy and eventually will shorten our lives.
      You can try putting it in the fridge and see what happens but please let me know the result. I'm doing exactly the same thing to one of my test subjects.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK

      When aeonium blooms, leave it for a while and let the bottom of the flower stalk mature and show signs of drying up; then cut the stalk and shake them off in a container to get the seed. Dry for a week and when temperature is ideal(10 to 25°C), sow the seeds.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To learn how to grow greenovia, one need to first understand their growing condition in their natural habitat. Greenovia is the same genus as aeoniums which are native to the Canary Islands through to East Africa. They grow during the wet season and goes dormant in hot and dry summer when the temperature is high. They will continue to grow in summer if they're given enough water and some shelter or protection from direct heat of the sun. I grow my greenovia in free draining soil with compost, pumice and coco peat. Always let the soil dry up first before watering again. Give them slow release fertilizer in the growing season. Good luck.

      @@minhlequang818 You said you're in Vietnam? They don't need watering when they're out in the sun and planted in the garden or exposed to the sun when they are dormant. I'll repeat what I wrote above...
      They grow during the wet season and "goes dormant in HOT AND DRY SUMMER when the temperature is high."
      HOWEVER....They will continue to "grow in summer" if they're given enough water and some "shelter or protection" from direct heat of the sun.
      That means if you grow them indoors where the temperature is mild....they will get out of dormancy and continue to grow....however, you'll need to keep an eye on the watering as if watered too much when they are semi dormant....they'll rot and die. But if you don't water them at all in the summer moths and they are grown outdoors....they' sleep until the temperature goes down or the weather gets colder, then they'll wake up and start growing again. As a general rule, succulents die more from over watering than under watering.
