It's not as rare as you'd think. Arch Enemy, Jinjer, Spirit Box, Iwrestledabearonce (same singer from Spirit Box in their last 2 albums, different equally as good singer in their other albums) are all good starting places for female singers that can scream and sing in equal measure, and for more Molly Daisy, the singer of Extras, she has her own band Hyper Psychic.
Elphelt is canonically a pastel Death Metal idol now. Besides trying to try and coerce people into getting married with her, although she dialed that back a bit in Strive.
Bedman and his sister Delilah (pictured in the video) are super powerful psychics whose powers kept them comatose (but Bedman could act through his bed because anime reasons), Bedman joined the villain team of the last game to forge a world in which he and his sister can live freely, but he ended up being defeated and sacrificed himself to suppress Delilah's powers, allowing her to wake up into a world without him. The Circle to me is Bedman on the verge of death, clinging to life just long enough to give his sister a chance he didn't get, and ordering the bed to protect her. The way the song cuts off abruptly at the end is bittersweet, Bedman accomplishes his goal, but can't see the result.
A little bit of extra info, not for you but for those who read your comment. The song is up to interpretation. We know that bedman, aka Romeo, died in the last game, and with the rest of his powers, he healed his sister ,Delilah, and now his bed robot protects her. Through the song their are some speculations on the nature of the bed. The two biggest camps are, A: Bedman just programmed it to defend her or B: Somehow, his soul entered the bed, but if it's just a fragment of his will or if his consciousness is limited by the bed, it is unclear. There I no answer, the creators wanted to leave it up to interpretation.
@@Mader-vz1zyFor sure, I like the interpretation that Bedman is truly dead more as it's more final, but they are hinting at some Ghost in the Shell shenanigans as well.
@@LemurLegiCZ as ghosts do exist in the series wouldn't be strange some part of his soul be on the bed and the bed even seems to have some flesh on it , that would actually be less strange that he progaming a bad to on its final moments, and the way the bed act sometimes is not as robitic as would expect, in my opnion i think is a little bit of both, the bed has some programing but bedman soul is interfiring with it to protect her
@LemurLegiCZ On the other hand, if it **is* Bedman, then the implication of the song is that he's actively refusing to pass on for his sister's sake. "No. You can't see the beautiful light. You can't hear the beautiful chant. You can't feel the tender warmth... if you can give someone something."
The Circle is a VERY interesting song, because it pulls heavily from the character who previously took on the title of "Bedman". Delilah, the girl pictured with The Bed, was the younger sister of Romeo, the Bedman of the last Guilty Gear game. He and his sister were more or less born comatose, born into immense psychic abilities, but with so much mental capacity that their brains couldn't handle it, forcing them into an endless sleep that if they ever awoke from, they'd die. Due to this reason, Romeo played the role of an antagonist, connecting to the world outside of his dreams through his bed, and using it to work towards the goal of "The Absolute World". The Absolute World is an event where two spaces-- the normal world and a metaspace called "The Backyard" briefly connect, allowing nearly anything to happen. It was through this that Romeo tried to save his sister, by creating a world where they could wake up without being destroyed by their own powers. Sadly, as is typical with antagonists, it didn't work out. In a last ditch effort, Romeo turned on the big bad of the story and tried to kill them, using all his power in the process-- and failed, dying just before the killing blow could be struck. However, in doing this, he permanently and irreversibly altered the world-- allowing Delilah to finally wake up, albeit with her immense powers largely sealed. This is where the theory of "The Circle" comes in. Bedman's bed isn't sentient, or at least, it shouldn't be. It was a vehicle, a medium for his thoughts and actions in the dream world to reach the real world. "The Circle" is theorized to be the boundary between Life and Death, with Romeo as the vocalist for the song, on the border of the circle, neither dead nor alive, not willing to die but unable to return. The Bed is thought to be Romeo's last way of contacting and protecting his sister, fighting to protect her and going beyond the bed's physical limits, damaging it and pushing it to the brink to protect her. That not even the knowledge of a billion years flowing into his mind from The Backyard would be enough to make him turn away, that he'd always come to her without a second though. That he's here. He'll always be here. It's all theory, and we can't necessarily confirm anything, but it's my personal theory, at the very least. Extras is a lot more simple. It's a song about Elphelt getting to live. From the moment she was born, Elphelt was destined by her mother to die in order to bring about the end of humanity. Suffice to say, that didn't happen, but now that all of that is over... She finally had a chance to be "herself". Like, REALLY be herself. Sure, she wasn't always in danger or trouble, but now that everything's over, she has a chance to just... Be a girl. Have a life. Extras is a song about someone who finally has a chance to live for herself every step of the way, and taking it. Picking up the extra bits of life that she never could've touched before. I'd say going from a catalyst of the end of the world to living your best life as a metal singer for your own band "Speothos Venaticus" (latin for Bush Dog, she really likes them) is a damn good way to do that.
The yelling parts of Elphelt's theme are also a reference to the fact she's actually a death metal singer despite her appearance. Also you might notice a lot of little Christmas references in her song cuz she's born on Christmas
It references so much stuff. I also picked up on a bit of Amazing Grace and the baseline for Smooth Criminal at other points, lol! They really just went nuts on this one.
Original Bedman(Romeo) is gray hair girl(Delilah)'s brother, both her and Romeo has condition that force them to sleep, because if they are awake too long they will die but in turn they are super smart and powerful, Romeo fought for previous game's villian because he thought she would cure him and Delilah, In the end he got betrayed and died but before he died, he cured his sister to be able to wake up without restriction. It's still a mystery that the "Bedman?" in GGST which is Romeo's Bed just a robot trying to fulfill Romeo's order/wish OR is it actual Romeo in the bed as a litteral Bedman now. Either way it is likely that either the song about a robot desperate to fulfill the duty but is incapable of understanding what went wrong OR it is about a brother who care about his sister so much he accepts living in robotic purgatory to protect her
To try and make Bedmans story simple: He was a person with a condition that made him a supergenius with psychic powers but unable to stay awake too long because his brain would overload itself. To work around that he made a robot bed which he sleeps in and controls through his dreams. In a previous Guilty gear game he died and used his last moments alive to cure his sister Delilah (Who has the same condition) and make her able to stay awake without dying. Now in Guilty gear: Strive we are introduced to a very worn out version of the robot who seems to now instinctivly protect Delilah from any and all threats. Its name is (Bedman?) because its unclear if a part of Bedman is still in the robot somehow as it seems to act on its own will to protect Delilah
@@ModernAegis Its still unclear considering the song ends right after the line "I'm here" this time without specifiying "on the border of the circle" and only staying silent My intepretation is that it means hes no longer on the border of life and death which could mean hes fully on one side now.
I love your Guilty Gear reactions! I think you would also enjoy these themes as well: The Gravity ( Asuka’s theme ) Symphony ( A.B.A’s theme ) Like a weed, naturally, as a matter of course ( Testament’s theme )
The circle is basically about a guy who forced himself out of the natural cycle of reincarnation after he died by sheer willpower so he can protect the one person he truly cares about. The final lines being "I'm here I'm here" is so powerful to me cause it reads like he's both triumphantly proclaiming he's managed to do the impossible while also trying to reassure his sister that he's here for her.
My head cannon is Elphelt was the lead composer behind every characters theme. She has a unique taunt where she tells the character she's fighting what kinda song she'd sing for them. Could be fun to see if you can make guesses on the characters personalities based on what Elphelt says she'll write for them.
Oh also I think your theory about the song being about the Circle of life. Bedman (Romeo) died in the story of XRD, though half his spirit now exists within the Bed in order to Protect his sister Delilah. Essentially he broke the circle of life and death to come back to protect her. Fun fact Romeo and Delilah are the names of the lead singer of Queen Freddie Mercury's pet cats. Sol Badguys real name is also Frederick Bulsara which is a reference to Freddies real name as well. Additional fun fact. Baiken adopted Delilah at the end of the DLC storyline. Additional additional fun fact Elphelts official profile for the game states she's saving up to buy a bush dog and her hobby is pretending to be a bush dog lol
@@rainyday9174 romeo’s sprit doesnt have residence in the bed, its just a system directive that was given to it by his final words. Of course some part of him still somewhat resides but its so ambiguous in what it is. Love the circle though its beautiful
@@RI-Kirishikai Actually it's been confirmed in a more recent interview with the games creator Romeos spirit is split in 2. One half in the boundary the other is in the bed. Which makes sense considering in the storymode Bedman is capable of using Romes Psychic powers, something that the Bed alone shouldn't be capable of. Additionally in the Arcade mode Baiken speaks in a way that implies Baiken could see Bedmans ghost after Delilah leaves. Which if I'm not mistaking isn't something new since she along with a few other characters are capable of seeing ghosts.
ayy, the ggs soundtrack goes so hard, its actualy what got me into fighting games to begin with, every song is absolutely bonkers in its own way edit, for a quick run down on zato, he actualy died in one of the previous games which resulted in eddie (the shadow) possesing his body. at some point zato was revived but now as an emotional less being. in strive, some of those emotions return, being his love for millia i aint a major lore nerd tho so forgive me if i got anything wrong
@@georgieegames oh yeh, absolutely, the music is in my oppinion the most important part of guilty gear, the franchise was literally made originally to promote the lead's band and music
I love how people are trying to explain the Bedman lore in simple terms yet it still sounds cracked. Also, I recommend listening to A.B.A's theme, Symphony. It's currently the latest one, and it's also great in a very quirky way :D
Zato-1 rundown: Zato-1 and Millia were assassins for an organization called the Assassin's Guild. At one time they did have a relationship, but one day Millia abandoned Zato on a high-risk mission and he was arrested. He was imprisoned and later forced to fight in a selection tournament to gather powerful fighters to take down an extremely powerful Gear (basically a super powerful humanoid) called Justice. But, mid-tournament Eddie (his shadow dude whom he used a forbidden magic spell to summon and lost his eyesight as a result) killed him and took over his body. But, Eddie couldn't sustain himself on a corpse. Eventually Zato was resurrected, but lost his emotions and now is only ever capable of feeling anything when he's arround Millia. The Assassin's Guild has since been disbanded, and Zato and Millia work for the Illyrian government (Illyria is a fictional country in the game's world). Also Eddie has chilled out and doesn't want to take over Zato's body anymore. Forgive me if I got anything wrong, Guilty Gear lore gets really confusing lol
The United Kingdoms of Illyria as a country is basically just all of Europe. After the Crusades (name for the war against the Justice controlled Gears), most of Europe were left without a governmental body so the United Nations, France, and the United Kingdom divide all of Europe into three states to try return order. Each of the states has a king as their leader, with Ky Kiske, Leo Whitefang, and a non-playable character named Daryl all being said kings.
Wait wasn't Milia that kill Zato?? They had a toxic relationship with a lot of complicated feelings , Then Eddie got his body and some time later Zato was revived by eddie?, also the being blind thing was a side effect thing that was there since the start when they were training/adapting to these forbiden spells
They dated, things fell threw, Millia left the assassin's guild, and was offered a pardon for her crimes in exchange for the collapse of the assassin's guild and arrest of it's leader (Zato=One). After Zato's incarceration the guild continually sent assassins after Millia, so she figures the best way to be free is to kill Zato. During the tournament Millia defeated Zato but chose not kill him, however due to his weaken state Eddie managed to possess Zato. Due to Eddie now always being actively, coupled with his injuries, Zato eventually dies from exhaustion with Eddie dying later due to failing to find a new host in time.
Fun Fact about Elphelt: The personality you see in Strive was initially a facade she put on as a double agent. But then she was redeemed and that facade became her true personality, or at least one she genuinely wants to live up to now. As a Valentine, she has emotions, but doesn't process them like humans do. The "extras" she describes are pleasant things that make us happy. She knows they're technically unneeded, but she pursues them anyway. "Let's start picking up the little extras of life."
The Circle can be interpreted in various ways but the most common belief is that it represents the border between life and death with the character of Bedman, the one from the prior game, trying to break out of the purgatory he finds himself in to try and protect his little sister Delilah. One way to understand the song is Bedman succeeded in his mission and his soul now inhabits the bedframe robot he once piloted and focuses on the single goal of protecting his sister from any and all threats. Alternatively, with the voice that answered back to him about not hearing the chants, of what we can infer as heaven, that he is forever trapped in the void and gives the bedframe one final directive to protect Delilah at all cost, saying while he cannot make her smile, he sure as hell refuses to let her cry.
I’ve said this to myself every time but your ability to understand EXACTLY what the song is trying to get across is honestly the most impressive I’ve ever seen, especially with The Circle where the lyrics are about as cryptic as possible yet you literally hit the nail on the head with the ideas about death and purgatory
TH-cam has decided I should see everyone's reactions to the Strive soundtrack and I agree, I love seeing the game spread from it's OST, and the characters are just so endearing! There's really no low point in the soundtrack, just excellent songs in different genres.
Actually "Extras" is performed by Molly Daisy. She made the groans and sounds made by the infected in The Last of Us, and also other monsters in different videogames.
You are INCREDIBLY spot on with Bedman?s theme! In the previous game, Bedman was a young super-powerful psychic that had to always stay asleep or he would die, so he created the bed-robot to be able to move around and fight with. In the end, he does die after being forced to wake up to defend himself, but not before using his unleashed power to cure his sister suffering from the same condition. The girl here is the sister, Delilah, and the bed is his original bed. At first glance it seems like it has just been programmed to protect Delilah, but certain actions it takes in the story make it seem way beyond simple programming. And indeed, the song sure makes it seem like the original Bedman managed to get himself out of the "circle" of life and death and is controlling the bed from limbo. Incredible you managed to figure that out without knowing the story, can't wait for the next one!
You actually got surprisingly close to the general understood meaning of the circle! One of my favorite interpretations is of the final "god do you X(...)" bits where the character seems to be told no, there is no radiant light, there is no beautiful chant, there is no tender warmth, there is no afterlife, not while you have someone to protect (that being delilah)
Ohhhh my goddddd, I can't believe how perfectly you interpreted The Circle. Right on the head of the nail, perfect bullseye. It always impresses me to see how often people are able to correctly surmise the meaning behind the character themes in Strive without any outside context, and I think that really goes to show how impeccable they are at delivering a story through both the music and lyrics at once.
I hate how you said that Zato would fit into the MGS series because he literally looks like if Psycho Mantis has long blond hair and a blindfold instead of a gas mask 💀
I would recommend like a weed , as Matter of course (testament theme) and the town inside me (Bridget theme) their very important characters to me cause they both fall into the trans umbrella and are great characters and representation
@@georgieegames She isn't trans, but "Perfection Can't Please Me (Jack-O's theme)" has a similar theme of discovering one's own identity in the face of internal struggle, like Bridget's theme, so it would fit as a 3rd song to react to in that batch.
@@Hey-Its-Dingo Jack-O is a different kind of trans: she's transhuman. She's a gear, but unlike other gears who are basically clean slates, has the memories and personality of a woman that died hundreds of years ago that she tries to live up too while also finding her own way.
@@georgieegamesMost of CloudDrop's videos have wrong lyrics and they never update them. You should consider reacting to CapnBooker's videos since they use official lyrics.
Oh my god extras AND the circle in the SAME VID?? It’s christmas ❤ My two favorite themes in the series, and you absolutely CRUSHED the reading into The Circle Romeo is Delilahs brother, the person formerly in control of The Bedframe, and also formerly known as Bedman Its implied that he has through sheer force of will possessed the bedframe to protect his little sister, even after he died in the previous game :(
Circle is a pretty heavy song if you know the lore, though it still leaves stuff up to interpretation. Delilah (the little girls) older brother was a bitter sweet villain in a previous game. Both powerful psychics who were crippled by their conditions, with Delilah being unable to wake from a kind of...mental prism based off her condition. In the last game Romeo (the brother) tries to do something that, while bad for the rest of the world, would help his sister. He is betrayed however and fails, but before his death uses the remainder of his energy to bring her out of her slumber. What is important to note is both characters (Delilah and Romeo) were effectively confined to medical beds for most of their lives, which has this powerful emotional and negative relationship with their plight. Romeo's actions, while heinous, are created out of love for his sibling. I interpret the songs lyrics as Romeo's soul, that of an incredibly powerful psychic, fighting the pull to the afterlife (the song lyrics talking about hearing the beautiful chant, and the beautiful warmth, being things he is feeling but resisting as he lies on the edge of the 'circle', which itself can also be a reference of the circle of life). The song also says he can't see her, but he has the access codes, which makes me believe that Romeo has animated the bed and by manipulating its electronics and is giving it a sort of life. The ....painful part however when you play through Bedman's story is how fragile this connection is, which probably reflects how much of Romeo is being eaten up by the process. Bedman has moments of lucidity, and at other moments seems to be in more of a primal state, and can't express or communicate effectively. I interpret that as, while Romeo is an incredibly powerful being, resisting the afterlife and everything else he is doing to protect Delilah are barely within his grasp, and likely will will end quite abruptly, as the song did.
Dude these reactons/breakdowns are so good, you have some genuinely insightful commentary and I can tell you're definitely a very emotionally intelligent person just from the themes you pick up from these songs. Would love to see more! ^v^
The black creature with the red eyes is a demon, his name is Eddie. Zato-1 made a pact with Eddie, he gains incredible power in exchange for his ability to see. He became the leader of his assasins Guild which eventually led him to meet Miillia. Zato actually once died and Eddie puppeted his body until he was defeated too. The both of them were revived, Eddie kept his memories and emotions, but Zato didn't. The only time he feels anything is when he's with Millia.
Your reactions are such a joy to watch! I love just how fun of a song Elphelt's Extras is, and the way it made you light up gave me a big smile! Keep up the good times with these!
There’s a new character in GG recently and their theme might climb its way to the top of my favorites, Symphony (A.B.A Theme). Definitely add that one to your next video!
I have 4 themes for you to try!! 1. The Town Inside Me (Bridget’s Theme) 2. Perfection Can’t Please Me (Jack-O’s Theme) 3. Symphony (A.B.A’s Theme) 4. Like a Weed, Naturally, as a Matter of Course (Testament, my main’s theme) Also, “Extras” is one of my favorites
Yeah your analysis of the Bedman? theme was extremely impressive given the character has rather complex lore. For the TL;DR, yes, most people see it as a song about a man who can't go to heaven and is being pulled back to earth to protect his sister Delilah, the girl in the video.
knew you could figure out the circle! i assume others have filled in the gaps but well done on having the best readings of ggst's ost ive seen out of any reaction channel!
Elphelt's song has been stuck in my head for a while now and has kinda become my own theme song, especially at work where if I get a chance I'll blare it in my ears to give me that little bit of oomph to make it through my shift. Love the song.
I think you read Zato-1's theme really well. Zato-1 was a part of the assassins guild with Millia, it is there where he traded his eyesight for the power Eddie (the "demon" fella) held with the ability to control him more or less... Whole lot happens and Zato one dies but is later brought back, but he was never the same after his revival. He became cold and devoid of emotion, only really feeling anything when near Millia. He doesn't understand the emotions but does know that they are good ones, so the end of the song tells of his longing for a time long gone...
I wish there was a playlist so we can easily keep track of what you already reacted to. I love how you hit the nail just slightly off the head with the reactions. My picks Testament Theme - Like a weed, Naturally, as a Matter of Course Johnny Theme - Just Lean A.B.A. Theme - Symphony Bridget Theme - The Town Inside Me
actually pretty spot on for the most part on all the songs, of course there’s like story details n stuff but as for general meaning yeah you summed it up mostly
Holy crap you got alot about bedman? Right Bedman (no exclamation point) was a villain who died in a previous game in this game you played as his bed mech fulfilling his last orders to protect his little sister the song is all about his refusal to reincarnate so that he can protect her from beyond the grave
One of my favorite parts of Extras is the part where it's "I'm scared of the laughter" because that line and the next few line after are sung very similarly to All I Want For Christmas is You, which I found hilarious because she's born in December (and if I recall correctly on Christmas day)
Zato-1 theme hits different after a heartbreak. Bedman is heartbreaking when you know the meaning of the lyrics and Elphelt is just cotton candy deathmetal Bedman is one of my favorite characters in fiction. He was an assassin who died in Xrd. It's implied to be that he got to the afterlife and realized there was nothing there for him so rejected it and returned to possess his bed to protect his sister even if he loses everything he is. So basically the bed is possessed by her brother and running on instinct and destroying itself solely to protect her
@@desperado3347 he was introduced around zato millia and venom and worked as an agent for Ariels so I misremembered either way it doesn’t really change his outcome in strive
@georgieegames An interesting fact for elphelt’s song is that when she says pick up extra’s (probably meaning humanity or something) it is kind of a mirror of her mother who would instead call that redundancies
getting dragged back into assassin work might be literally the opposite of what happened, but to be fair, i wouldn't have guessed that he straight up died if i didn't already know it. the fact everything else was accurate, even technically the context behind his death is impressive though. also fun fact: the demon's name is eddie.
If you know the meaning behind the circle it’s probally one of the most depressing songs in the ost will I explain why it’s depressing as fuck uhhh maybe later I’m tired rn and want to lay in my bed… man
Oh Millia and Zato definitely know each other. They went grom companions, to lovers to fucking wanting to kill each other. Also Eddie (the Shadow) is a forbidden beast from an alternate dimension, Zato sacrificed his eyes to obtain Eddie.
Love this type of reaction and interpetation for the character themes! A new character named A.B.A released last week, you ahould check out her theme (Symphony) as well! Her backstory is weird and interesting so I'm curious what your interpretation will be from just listening to her theme and seeing visuals.
i love the line in the circle that say " i cant make you laugh but i will never let you cry" because he cant give her sister love or company anymore, but he can protect her and make her safe from the people who wanted to use her and hurt her
7:37 Zato is the leader of this organisation. This black shadow is one of the special weapon beasts created by humans. Zato lost his eyes in order to use him. Millia has obe as well, it took her hair and started to live in it and now she control her hair. Beast wants to take full control of the body. When Zato died Eddie(name of the shadow beast) did take control over the corpse(in one of the games we play as Eddie controlling the corpse), while travelling Eddie started to think more and more about meaning of life and etc, about how he liked company of Zato. So when Zato was ressurected Eddie no longer tries to take control.
Actually, the thought that Millia's hair is a Forbbiden Beast is a result of a mistranslation. She used a forbidden spell for it instead, and we have no other details or explanations as of yet.
The circle has to be one of my favorite songs on the soundtrack but it really helps it if you know the story of bedman. In fact the guitar solo is in my top three solos in guilty gear just because it to me it’s like the original bedman right when he finds out he can’t keep his sister safe anymore because he’s about to die and it seems like his world is crumbling down around him. Luckily for him he was able to (potentially) embed his spirit into the bed before he died but he could never find out if his planned worked. This song is just so freaking good and it only gets better with the lore.
I go wild for catchy music, Extras is right up there with Subhuman Self and Smell of the Game for me. That said, I also really love the end of Carve Your Way. This was my first time hearing the Circle! It’s definitely a vibe, feels like a ballad.
Zato-1 has been around since the first game and has had some of the most extreme changes to his character, and his story has been tied together with Millia's pretty much the entire time. In the backstory, he was a kid taken in by the assassin's guild, but wasn't very useful until he gave up his eyesight to form a pact with a forbidden beast, giving him the ablity to control his shadow as a weapon (just like Millia's hair). He'd rise to the top of the guild, taking on two second in commands, Venom (who falls in love with Zato and isn't present in Strive beyond a small cameo due to being busy with his bakery) and Millia, who he has a very toxic relationship with. Combined with Zato chipping away at the Guild's morals, Millia would flee the Guild. When Zato tries to track her down in the story though, he loses control of his shadow beast, being eventually mercy killed by Millia after ending up a shambling mess. For the next few games, Eddie would puppet his body while becoming more aware of himself and existentialism. Eddie would eventually get Zato to be a guinea pig for a resurrection project, but he'd be brought back without any memories or feelings beyond his infatuaton with Millia. He's been getting them back slowly, but his infatuation with Millia (who is currently his superior in the Post War Administration Bureau) and their past relationship, and a desire for atonement, are his most defining character traits now, unlike his angry and bitter feelings before death. He's a disadvantaged kid that gained power and ruined everything he gained only to be killed and brought back as a husk of his former self. His dislikes in his profiles consistently lists "Women." Elphelt was introduced in the Xrd series. A Valentine, she was created by the universal Will to destroy humanitt, but would go rogue after falling in love wirh a metal singer (it didnt work out). Unfortunately, this was intended, as she was a sleeper agent, and would turn against the gang. She'd be brought back to her senses, and Ram would prevent her from committing suicide, intent on saving the sister that helped her grow beyong their mother's plans. She'd be used by the universal Will, who planned to sacrifice her to bring back Justice, before being saved by the gang. El hates lonely people, is obsessed with love and marriage (she got much of her knowledge of humanity from trashy romane novels, and only has a surface lebel understanding of the concepts), was born on Christmas (which has a more romance focus with spending it with people in Japan), fought in a wedding dress in the previous games and woul propose to her opponents, and in this game has become head of her own metal band. Her storyline in this game has her trying to marry Nagoriyuki. She fights with firearms (shotgun wedding being the joke), her IK in previous games was shooting opponents through the heart to make them love her (complete with reactions like "PLEASE I HAVE A WIFE" and "Is this the yuri route... ?") and is associated with roses (haha Guns n Roses). I love her. The previous storyline had a character named Bedman, who had a condition where he and his sister Delilah were too galaxy brained they'd die if they woke up. Bedman would use his powers to fight from the dream world, turning his bed into a fighting mech, and work with the Universal Will to try and make a perfect world (he was being used). He'd eventually get woken up, betrayed, and died, using his last moments to cure Delilah. His bed (now referred to as Bedman?) has continued to move and act on its own, seemingly trying to protect Delilah. Is it possessed (we do know ghosts exist in Guilty Gear)? Acting on programming Bedman left? Or has it grown its own consciosness? Bedman?'s arcade story has it attempt suicide by cop, first by fighting Baiken then Ramlethal, wanting to be destroyed cause it keeps scaring Delilah, only stopping when Delilah pleads with Ramlethal to not destroy it cause its the only thing she has from her brother. Bedman's real name is revealed to be Romeo btw, Bedman was just a codename. Romeo and Delilah, iirc thats a reference to Freddie Mercury's cats! The Circle, and all the references to god and the radiant light, beautiful chant, and tender warmth, likely refers to the afterlife and what may wait Bedman after the previous games, as other than the existence of ghosts we don't have any confirmation if reincarnation or heaven exist in the world of Guilty Gear. The lyrics likely refer to the Bed gaining more sentience and care for Delilah. I think it'd be worth branching out of just Strive as the previous games also had great vocal themes. I'd suggest Worthless As the Sun Above Clouds from Guilty Gear 2 Overture, Coming Home from Guilty Gear Vastedge XT, and Big Blast Sonic from Guilty Gear Xrd Sign (hey, that's the game Ram and El are from!) From Strive I'd suggest The Name of Heaven (arcade credits theme), The Kiss of Death (Goldlewis Dickinson) and Perfection Can't Please Me (Jack-O Valentine, the only Valentine in Strive whose theme you haven't done. I hope we get the original Valentine as DLC...).
I can't wait to see you get to Rock Parade I don't know if you're going in an order. I also want to see what your thoughts will be on Out of the Box. You're weirdly good at theorizing just going off their appearances and themes
Umm fun fact (im not sure if it is even right) about Extras you can kinda hear the melody of "all i want for christmas" And another fun fact is that elphelt is actually a metal singer hence the song
Zat-0's theme is about basically realizing he was abusive and he was only happy when he was with his girlfriend, so he mourned that things can't go back to how they were.
I really see Bedman?'s theme as the OG Bedman existing in kind of a limbo, his mind and heart still existing in his bed, protecting his sister. But his psychic powers made him godlike powerful, and when he died I think he saw a greater truth, how everything connects. Even with all that knowledge his goal is just to protect his sister.
i think the gravity(Asuka’s theme) is an amazing song that you’ll definitely have an experience with. There’s also Symphony(Abba’s theme) that came out recently as the newest dlc for strive that’ll also be an interesting listen. And even though i don’t really like this last recommendation being perfection can’t please me(Jack-O’s theme) I’d still like to see how you feel about it.
It is heavily implied that after bedman died in the previous game he possesed the bed machine in this game. The circle could refer to the cage of the bed. He is able to see delilah but can't actually reach out and talk to her. This song is him singing about being stuck in a state of not being able to move onto the afterlife but also can't reach the living world (pitch black, pure white, all the same, endless, finite, copy that)
For Zatos theme, for the second verse, i can never sing that part correctly "That it's not the end of Sorrow and Joy" I always get chocked up from the emotion of it. Strive's OST has been such a huge blessing in my life. Long Live Daisuke!
I highly recommend Ky's theme (The Roar of the Spark), Johnny's theme (Just Lean), Chipp's theme (Play the Hero) and Asuka's theme (The Gravity) Not only are they great songs, but the lyrics of those 4 speak to me on a personal level, as well as Happy Chaos' theme (Drift), Millia's theme (Love the Subhuman Self) and Zato's theme (Let Me Carve Your Way), but you already reacted to those 3. Yes I am saying that The Roar of the Spark, Just Lean, Play the Hero, The Gravity, Drift, Love the Subhuman Self and Let Me Carve Your Way all speak to me on a personal level.
sooo, Bedman and Delilah are my favorite characters of all Guilty Gear so I just had to tell you some more about them. Delilah and Romeo (Bedman's real name) Neumann are siblings with such powerful psychic abilities that their bodies cannot withstand them so they're should always be in a coma-like state lest their bodies would literally crumble. unfortunately, that happened to Romeo because he has joined the enemy side to help create an Absolute World where there will be no death, no sickness and him and Delilah could finally be together outside their shared Dreamworld (yes, they are so powerfull they have a subspace within their mind where they can do anything as they please). so, main villian betrays our boy Bedman and with the last of his powers he frees Delilah from her part of curse so that she can finally be in the outside world. but not only that, he *deletes himself out of this universe right before his death*. he deletes info about himself in Backyard (another universe, containing ALL the data of our universe). his Universal ID is no more and he became the creature outside of the universe. and, to me, with this he (as you guessed correctly) either gives commands or straight up possesses the bed that he once used to carry himself. all of this to protect his sister. my interpritation of the song is that Romeo willingly gave up his opportunity to go into heaven in order to make sure his sister is safe through the body of battered machine on the verge of breaking. which is ironic, because in Xrd story Bedman always said that he hates people who do something for love, yet here he is, with his goals to create an Absolute World just because he loved his sister. and now he is stuck somewhere (we are not sure where, Daisuke and Strive never gave real answer as to what really happened to Romeo after Xrd). but at least, Delilah is safe with Baiken and Bedman can rest easy (hopefully). btw, why I think that Romeo possessed the bed is because we have a few instances in previous games of people returning from afterlife being devoid of all emotions EXCEPT love for the close one. the most famous human, brought back from hell - Zato-1, who is completely emotionless unless is near Millia. the same goes for Bed in Strive, though it cannot express any emotions via lack of programming to do so, it has a strong connection to Delilah and will to protect her at all cost, even at the cost of destroying itself. so yeah, quite possibly the will of Romeo and programming of the Bed are in conflict with eachother. but that's just what I think. as always, great video! and don't worry, we will be patiently waiting for your next reactions of Guilty Gear OSTs.
Fun fact about Zato: his body was taken over by a shadow named Eddie. In the earlier games, he was even named Eddie, until Xrd when he is brought back to life. After coming back, he lost all of his memories and emotions, except for a strange feeling he gets whenever he's around Millia
I like how you got two dead people in one. Both Zato-1 and Bedman(?) have died, bedman is still dead but might be posessing his old bed to protect his sister.
It would be cool if you like looked at the wiki after making your guess for each character. I'd totally like to see your reaction to the confirmed lore.
This is just background The Japanese were fucking nuked, and those who survived were superhuman (pretty much an average salary man was mike tyson) and moved to an "safe place" by the worlds governments in a attempt to preserve and isolate them During this, he met a really cute girl with huge badonkers, and more importantly a cute personality and a really good samurai's sword and they both left on their own so they can pursue the guy who did it. He flirted with the guy who did it to try and find out why, but Baiken just wanted to kill the catboy THE IMPORTANT PART The song is literally just him yelling "THERE WAS THIS REALLY CUTE GIRL AND WE ATE CANDY AND WALKED TOGETHER AND STAYED UP LATE AND IT WAS LIKE A DATE AND I FUCKING LOVE HER *_incoherent sobbing_*"
Bedman?’s theme is kinda funky story wise. The general consensus is that the song itself is from the perspective of Romeo, the previous guy who was in the bed robot and brother of Delilah, the girl we see here. The song appears to be Romeo’s last moments during his death when he pseudo sacrificed himself to make sure Delilah would remain safe after curing her of the psychic condition they both had. During some parts of the song we can hear mechanical whirring which seems to be his old Bed getting up to perform its last task, protect Delilah. The circle maybe be referring to life and death itself, Romeo now dying is outside the circle. Pure white and all black, infinite and finite, these are contradictory statements which could mean the unknowable incomprehensible space that is death and the end of a life, he is no longer part of the world of the living. Romeo was a man of science and likely wouldn’t truly believe in an afterlife or god but in his last moments directly asks if God can feel the tender warmth or hear the beautiful chant. It’s not until the last part of the song does this line change. Either God actually spoke out to Romeo and told him he could feel these things and thus is denied heaven or Romeo declaring it to god who never reached out because he may or may not exist. It could also be Romeo yelling at himself, not forgiving himself for all the awful things he did when he was alive still. Either way, now that he sent the Bed to protect Delilah he is allowed to rest somewhat easy and despite him being gone his sister can remain safe. Some say Romeo’s soul is still inside the Bed and working on its own volition to take care of Delilah but we are uncertain.
Fun fact about Extras, every line was done by the same singer. She has some impressive range.
I couldn't believe it when I found out! Absolutely insane she does have some really impressive vocal range daang
She usually voices zombies and monsters in games btw.@@georgieegames
It's not as rare as you'd think. Arch Enemy, Jinjer, Spirit Box, Iwrestledabearonce (same singer from Spirit Box in their last 2 albums, different equally as good singer in their other albums) are all good starting places for female singers that can scream and sing in equal measure, and for more Molly Daisy, the singer of Extras, she has her own band Hyper Psychic.
@@georgieegames "Extras" isn't even 10% of the power Molly Daisy can scream with. She is the singer of a Noise Metal band called Hyper Psychic.
She was using false chord for her screams which isn't reliant on the vocal chords.
Elphelt is canonically a pastel Death Metal idol now. Besides trying to try and coerce people into getting married with her, although she dialed that back a bit in Strive.
She dialed it back a bit, but it's very much still there. Lol

The two biggest camps are,
A: Bedman just programmed it to defend her or
B: Somehow, his soul entered the bed, but if it's just a fragment of his will or if his consciousness is limited by the bed, it is unclear.
@@AdderMoray exactly!! Is like he is refusing heaven to give his sister something
I'd say going from a catalyst of the end of the world to living your best life as a metal singer for your own band "Speothos Venaticus" (latin for Bush Dog, she really likes them) is a damn good way to do that.
funny thing with your headcanon about Elphelt singing her own theme: according to her arcade mode ending
yeah, no, that's just canon
Imagine you're at an Elphelt concert and you hear her switch to the death metal voice
The yelling parts of Elphelt's theme are also a reference to the fact she's actually a death metal singer despite her appearance. Also you might notice a lot of little Christmas references in her song cuz she's born on Christmas
That explains the mariah carey vibes on that line...

You read the Bedman theme really well
Oh FR?? yaaaayyy!!
The fact that this is the “simple” version of bedman’s lore is just wild. 😂
Unclear until the song spells it out at least. Bedman's still in there.
@@ModernAegis Its still unclear considering the song ends right after the line "I'm here" this time without specifiying "on the border of the circle" and only staying silent
My intepretation is that it means hes no longer on the border of life and death which could mean hes fully on one side now.

Yeees more Guilty Gear.
I did promise just sorry it took me so long 😅
My head cannon is Elphelt was the lead composer behind every characters theme.

“Extras” is done by one singer Molly Daisy and she does both parts for the song that Disney and death metal voice were both her and it was amazing 😂
Zato-1 rundown:
Zato-1 and Millia were assassins for an organization called the Assassin's Guild.
I think thats all pretty on point, as u said, the lore's quite confusing at times but this part at least is right.
Eddie gained emotion, Zato lost it.
Please do more of these! It's lovely to hear your takes on the songs and their lyrics
Dude you nailed the circles meaning

My two favorite themes in the series, and you absolutely CRUSHED the reading into The Circle
Romeo is Delilahs brother, the person formerly in control of The Bedframe, and also formerly known as Bedman
Its implied that he has through sheer force of will possessed the bedframe to protect his little sister, even after he died in the previous game :(
17:13 “oh cuz it’s in the shape of the bed 😀”
Absolutely stunning
Bedman’s theme is kinda hard to explain, but to sum it up and simplify it, it’s the song of a dead man
Wild that you basically hit the nail on the head with the bedman theme.

Just Lean (Johnny's Theme)
Armor Clad Faith (Potemkin's Theme)
Thx!
Yeah your analysis of the Bedman? theme was extremely impressive given the character has rather complex lore. For the TL;DR, yes, most people see it as a song about a man who can't go to heaven and is being pulled back to earth to protect his sister Delilah, the girl in the video.
can i just say that i may or may not cry when i listen to theese songs because they are so filled with emotions. GREAT REACTIONS BTW!!!!
i sing faust's and elphelt's theme everyday while sweaping. though my neighbors don't know english i'm pretty sure they thnk im crazy lol
knew you could figure out the circle! i assume others have filled in the gaps but well done on having the best readings of ggst's ost ive seen out of any reaction channel!
I'm so happy you enjoyed the Circle so much G it is one of my favourite songs EVER
Very impressive how much you got right on Bedman's theme. Loving your reactions and analysis.
I wish there was a playlist so we can easily keep track of what you already reacted to.
I love how you hit the nail just slightly off the head with the reactions.
My picks
Testament Theme - Like a weed, Naturally, as a Matter of Course
Johnny Theme - Just Lean
A.B.A. Theme - Symphony
Bridget Theme - The Town Inside Me
actually pretty spot on for the most part on all the songs, of course there’s like story details n stuff but as for general meaning yeah you summed it up mostly
"Give me the tools to live in the past" I cry every time.
Holy crap you got alot about bedman? Right
Bedman (no exclamation point) was a villain who died in a previous game in this game you played as his bed mech fulfilling his last orders to protect his little sister the song is all about his refusal to reincarnate so that he can protect her from beyond the grave
One of my favorite parts of Extras is the part where it's "I'm scared of the laughter" because that line and the next few line after are sung very similarly to All I Want For Christmas is You, which I found hilarious because she's born in December (and if I recall correctly on Christmas day)
I heared Extras today... like 2 hours ago, i cant stop listening to it. Im absolutely hooked!
Zato-1 theme hits different after a heartbreak. Bedman is heartbreaking when you know the meaning of the lyrics and Elphelt is just cotton candy deathmetal
Bedman is one of my favorite characters in fiction. He was an assassin who died in Xrd. It's implied to be that he got to the afterlife and realized there was nothing there for him so rejected it and returned to possess his bed to protect his sister even if he loses everything he is. So basically the bed is possessed by her brother and running on instinct and destroying itself solely to protect her
nnnot sure if id call bedman an assassin, he was kind of all over the place mostly trying to take out people who got in the Universal Will's way
@@desperado3347 he was introduced around zato millia and venom and worked as an agent for Ariels so I misremembered either way it doesn’t really change his outcome in strive
Starting with Zato's theme got me remembering the last bit
@georgieegames An interesting fact for elphelt’s song is that when she says pick up extra’s (probably meaning humanity or something) it is kind of a mirror of her mother who would instead call that redundancies
Next you should listen to this two together as they are related
Roar of the spark (Ky theme)
The hourglass ( Sin theme )
there's no way you haven't seen the lore of this game before because how did you guess the EXACT story of bedman?
getting dragged back into assassin work might be literally the opposite of what happened, but to be fair, i wouldn't have guessed that he straight up died if i didn't already know it.
the fact everything else was accurate, even technically the context behind his death is impressive though.
also fun fact: the demon's name is eddie.
The Gravity (Asuka R#’s theme) is a good theme to check out
Gotta recommend the latest character theme for A.B.A
Ton of variety in that song, and an absolute banger
Dang, these videos are so entertaining. I crave it
Love this type of reaction and interpetation for the character themes!
His dislikes in his profiles consistently lists "Women."
Elphelt was introduced in the Xrd series.
Fun fact: elphelt theme is singed by Molly who is metal female singer
I can't wait to see you get to Rock Parade I don't know if you're going in an order.
I also want to see what your thoughts will be on Out of the Box. You're weirdly good at theorizing just going off their appearances and themes
how tf did you get Bedman? that spot on damn. hella props
Umm fun fact (im not sure if it is even right) about Extras you can kinda hear the melody of "all i want for christmas"
And another fun fact is that elphelt is actually a metal singer hence the song
"I may not be able to make you smile, but i'll never make you cry, not even once, never" that shit hurts
By the way last week they release a new character, her name is A.B.A and her song is symphony, both are excellent.
Insane how close you got the bedman one right
I highly recommend Ky's theme (The Roar of the Spark), Johnny's theme (Just Lean), Chipp's theme (Play the Hero) and Asuka's theme (The Gravity)
Not only are they great songs, but the lyrics of those 4 speak to me on a personal level, as well as Happy Chaos' theme (Drift), Millia's theme (Love the Subhuman Self) and Zato's theme (Let Me Carve Your Way), but you already reacted to those 3.
Yes I am saying that The Roar of the Spark, Just Lean, Play the Hero, The Gravity, Drift, Love the Subhuman Self and Let Me Carve Your Way all speak to me on a personal level.
You need to do Happy Chaos's theme "Drift", not only is it a good song but its a great character (totally not biased because hes my main)
ah I've already done it th-cam.com/video/DzQN8luo6Gk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-EXLaBSaC3PLQwOx enjoy 😁✌️
@@georgieegames oh, then maybe consider doing Sin's theme "The Hourglass" another great one
sooo, Bedman and Delilah are my favorite characters of all Guilty Gear so I just had to tell you some more about them. Delilah and Romeo (Bedman's real name) Neumann are siblings with such powerful psychic abilities that their bodies cannot withstand them so they're should always be in a coma-like state lest their bodies would literally crumble. unfortunately, that happened to Romeo because he has joined the enemy side to help create an Absolute World where there will be no death, no sickness and him and Delilah could finally be together outside their shared Dreamworld (yes, they are so powerfull they have a subspace within their mind where they can do anything as they please). so, main villian betrays our boy Bedman and with the last of his powers he frees Delilah from her part of curse so that she can finally be in the outside world. but not only that, he *deletes himself out of this universe right before his death*. he deletes info about himself in Backyard (another universe, containing ALL the data of our universe). his Universal ID is no more and he became the creature outside of the universe. and, to me, with this he (as you guessed correctly) either gives commands or straight up possesses the bed that he once used to carry himself. all of this to protect his sister. my interpritation of the song is that Romeo willingly gave up his opportunity to go into heaven in order to make sure his sister is safe through the body of battered machine on the verge of breaking. which is ironic, because in Xrd story Bedman always said that he hates people who do something for love, yet here he is, with his goals to create an Absolute World just because he loved his sister. and now he is stuck somewhere (we are not sure where, Daisuke and Strive never gave real answer as to what really happened to Romeo after Xrd). but at least, Delilah is safe with Baiken and Bedman can rest easy (hopefully).
btw, why I think that Romeo possessed the bed is because we have a few instances in previous games of people returning from afterlife being devoid of all emotions EXCEPT love for the close one. the most famous human, brought back from hell - Zato-1, who is completely emotionless unless is near Millia. the same goes for Bed in Strive, though it cannot express any emotions via lack of programming to do so, it has a strong connection to Delilah and will to protect her at all cost, even at the cost of destroying itself. so yeah, quite possibly the will of Romeo and programming of the Bed are in conflict with eachother. but that's just what I think.
as always, great video! and don't worry, we will be patiently waiting for your next reactions of Guilty Gear OSTs.
me just realizing that millia's new move in the last patch is just like one of Zato's arial moves in the trailer.
uwu, they train together.
Fun fact about Zato: his body was taken over by a shadow named Eddie. In the earlier games, he was even named Eddie, until Xrd when he is brought back to life.
After coming back, he lost all of his memories and emotions, except for a strange feeling he gets whenever he's around Millia
I would love to see your reaction to Bridget's theme!
Can you react to "Symphony (A.B.A's Theme)"?
I like how you got two dead people in one. Both Zato-1 and Bedman(?) have died, bedman is still dead but might be posessing his old bed to protect his sister.
"Im just trying to find out this characters motivations."
Yeah so is Zato himself actually
It would be cool if you like looked at the wiki after making your guess for each character. I'd totally like to see your reaction to the confirmed lore.
“This shadow’s done something to him…”
Oh boy…
The Circle: "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?"
Hey hey gamer:
Listen to Anji's theme (rock parade)
See if you can guess it but have fun with it, answer shall be in the replies here
This is just background
The Japanese were fucking nuked, and those who survived were superhuman (pretty much an average salary man was mike tyson) and moved to an "safe place" by the worlds governments in a attempt to preserve and isolate them
During this, he met a really cute girl with huge badonkers, and more importantly a cute personality and a really good samurai's sword and they both left on their own so they can pursue the guy who did it. He flirted with the guy who did it to try and find out why, but Baiken just wanted to kill the catboy
THE IMPORTANT PART
The song is literally just him yelling "THERE WAS THIS REALLY CUTE GIRL AND WE ATE CANDY AND WALKED TOGETHER AND STAYED UP LATE AND IT WAS LIKE A DATE AND I FUCKING LOVE HER *_incoherent sobbing_*"
