Thank you soooo much for this video. Yesterday, I checked my clearances and all were in tolerances! 60k miles and hasn't needed any adjustments. Amazing! I was really nervous about doing it, now I feel very confident, with your help.
Kirk thanks for the Video. My 99 LT has 38k miles and is due for a valve check/adjustment. The only thing stopping me from doing it myself, is that I like to see it done once before I do it. Now I have. I will tackle my own very soon. The last time BMW did it, it was near $500.00 of course that included new plugs. Thanks again.
I am happy it gave you the encouragement to tackle it yourself! That is exactly why I made them. Enjoy the $ savings. I too am not so wealthy that I can afford to take my bike in to the stealer.
Kirk, I have been working on my k1200rs 1997. used ur vid (great) as a guide, anyway after checking all valves I am surprised to find that nearly all the inlet valves are way tight. Thinking I must be doing it wrong so checked the valves 3 times and yep I have 7 inlet way below bottom limit. I would understand having one where the valve seat had worn but after doing some research on forums no one has come across so many so tight. Exhaust valves are reading bottom limit so ok there. I had noticed the last owner had done this job in the past and didn't do the research as they ended up putting the valve bearing caps on in totally the wrong order. anyway I have just put it all back together the right way in the hope it may have made some difference to the clearance..... but as you probably are telling me now......Not gonna make a difference! anyway I'm up to changing the 7 buckets needed.....what I'm concerned about is am I missing any underlying problem here. have you came across this many being out by so much....... they are inlet 1 = .152 & .101...... 2= .025 & .101.....3=.025 & .076.......4=.025 & .025. it's a 1997 54000 miles on the clock. part service history. surprisingly runs nice. other than the cam chain cover oil leak which is why I decided to work on it in the first place.
Kirk, used to owned a 2002 R1150rs, this was the best boxer I have ever owned, I took care of it like it was my baby better thin my wife, one day a car Hite me from behind and totaled it, now I'm looking into the BMW K1300s what have you heard about this one. Is there anything I should know is it a good BMW is the clutch strong is the ABS wreath it, and is it hard to set the valves on it . I did all the work on RS myself, and keep up the a very good condition, I put 77k on it and love to ride her, before she was murdered, I like watching your videos keep up the GOOD WORK. Thank You
Hi guys i am in need of some advice i got a k12oolt it has being standing in storage for six years i have spark got feul going as spark plugs are wet with feul but still not starting any advise pse
just a quick question, how come i never have seen a video on balancing the throttle bodies on a K bike? i know they stress this on the R bikes, to balance the throttle bodies before you do a valve check, but on the K's i haven't seen anything on balancing the TB's. Just curious.
Great show as always ! Thank you ! This might be a stupid question , how do I make a donation to you guys ? I am new to this ! All your videos are much appreciated !

Hi
Let me understand.
If value is out of specific what does it do to the engine and performance as well as sound effects like kicking?

Hey how are you doing I do have same bike but black smoke and waste too much gas please tell me why
You need to replace the O2 sensor.
And always put on center stand
Is this a common problem?
Its not a problem. It is right around 50% need adjustment
Too much gap is ok. Leave it alone.
