    The name of the song is Senbonzakura. The instrument you loved is named Shamisen. Pleeeease, I don't want to wait for months for another Wagakki Band reaction. They have 2 collabs with Amy Lee (Evanescence). This song aaaaand Bring Me To Life. If you want to check their new stuff, I hardly recommend Sun Wheel. I think it's perfect for you

    Lute thing = Shamisen
    Harp thing = Koto
    Flute thing = Shakuhachi
    Lead singer = Yuko Suzuhana; She founded the band. You want to say hi? Get in line!
    Shamisen player = Beni, and you will have to get in line to say hello to her too, just sayin'.

      千本桜 means Thousand Cherry Trees, not blossoms. If you wanted to say thousand cherry blossoms, it would be 千輪桜, spoken as "senrinzakura". If you're interested, I'll explain why.

    • @hiawatha.g
      @hiawatha.g 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kurt9395 for sure, thanks!

    • @kurt9395
      @kurt9395 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hiawatha.g Very well. The character 桜 can mean either "cherry blossom" or "cherry tree" and is used interchangeably. But in Japanese, a lot depends on context. So both the speaker and listener would know whether they're talking about cherry trees or cherry blossoms. I guess it's easier than explicitly having to say all the time "sakura no hana" (桜の花) when talking about cherry blossoms and "sakura no ki" (桜の木) when talking about cherry trees.
      The first character 千 in "Senbonzakura" means thousand. How many thousands? Who knows because it's not explicit as in 1,000 (一千) or 5,000 (五千) and Japanese doesn't have plurals. Now here comes the fun part: In Japanese (and Chinese too, which is where all this nonsense came from), how you count objects depends on what kind of object you're counting. So counting trees is different from counting people, or counting plates, or counting fish, or counting flowers. There are thirty or so of these counting characters and even Japanese get confused about which characters are used to count what objects.
      So the second character 本 is used to count long cylindrical objects like bottles, trees, or, for some unknown reason, pants. So in this case, the implied meaning would be "thousand trees". The character 本 by itself can mean "origin", or "source", or "book" for complicated reasons. In Japan, you would see this character outside of bookstores, but it's not used to count books and instead 冊 is used. Go figure. Now, if you would wanted to count flowers, you would use the character 輪 which is used to count round objects like flowers or wheels. In fact, the character 輪 ("rin") by itself means "wheel".
      Also, thanks to the wife for making sure I'm not talking out my ass.
      Edit: TH-cam screwed up my original comment so I had to rewrite this. Apologies.

    I am so glad you finally came back to this band. I am also glad to see just how much you totally enjoy them!
    Their 2018 New Years concert may be my favorite of their performances, and their lives are somehow just _so_ much more electrifying than their music videos. This one is one of my favorite songs they covered: Tengaku. th-cam.com/video/kSJNMQrrgvo/w-d-xo.html
    And a song they did for the encore of that same concert: Rokuchounen to Ichiya Monogatari. th-cam.com/video/90QRPSZDzsA/w-d-xo.html
    Fun detail - The woman who plays the shamisen (japanese banjo) is Ninagawa Beni. In their music videos, Beni always has the look of a super serious rock goddess badass. During concerts, she can't keep that gigantic smile off her face. Super adorable!

    Glad to see you finally come back to Wagakki Band. Your first reaction to them was the first reaction by you that I had ever seen (I had already become a fan of Wagakki Band, which led me to your reaction). Then, seeing other videos by you introduced me to BabyMetal (which I am forever grateful to you for), and then Band Made and Love Bites. (I think another Japanese band that you would really like is Unlucky Morpheus, whose co-founder and guitarist briefly played with the BabyMetal Kami Band years ago).
    There are many worthwhile Wagakki Band songs to react to. I would post links, but recently any TH-cam comment I make with links tend to disappear. I saw another poster mention that they did some songs with Amy Lee that I thing you would like (Including this song that you just reacted to.)

    Recently they released two new singles... one is Aria of Life, which also happens to be the opening them for a currently airing anime. The most recent one is Starlight. Highly recommend both of them. Wagakki Band is my all-time favorite band (they even surpassed Kamelot for me, which is saying a lot), so I think pretty much all of their songs are amazing. XD
    Ninagawa Beni is an absolute goddess with the shamisen. I always get chills watching her play. And Suzuhana Yuko's vocals.... they really hit different. What a voice. I'd pay any amount of money for a VIP Meet & Greet Concert ticket. I miss concerts.

    Mr R&R: Everyone loves Beni on the shamisen. And this song is very interesting: I’m told that it is a cover of a song called “Senbonzakura” which means “one thousand cherry blossoms” and I understand it was originally written for vocaloid Hatsune Miku. A vocaloid is a piece of software that emulates the human voice - you input the melody & lyrics and you can control tempo, inflection and many other parts of the performance. Hatsune Miku is kind of an avatar or representation of the vocaloid. It’s pretty hard to describe/understand all this as a non-Japanese person, but I find it fascinating. th-cam.com/video/Mqps4anhz0Q/w-d-xo.html

    Your reaction is so good. You made me happy...lol. Just seeing you enjoy. I used to hear those Japanese instruments all time when I was young, but I never think it will be so good with other rock instruments. this is a great !!!

    Fascinating music because there's essentially no bass here. Everything is high pitched, even the drums. It's like having an equalizer with only treble.
    As a contrast you might one day react to something by Kodo, which is drums in spades. Being a workout guy, you'll appreciate the athleticism of the performers as well as the music.

    This is a cover from VOCALOID. The first album was taken from VOCALOID, but has since written its own song.
    Try "Ignite, "Sun wheel, "Kagerou, "Hotarubi" and many more.
    They started in 2013 and have released 6 albums and 2 EPs.
