Nightshift Food Delivery on Gotland! [Part 2]

Here I have just entered the ferry for my night shift unloading at one of Swedens "big" islands - Gotland.
Some parts had a really bad audio quality so I decided to do some voiceovers. I hope you like it!

@@andrewsmith478 Well, technically it count as rest period so its not hourly pay, got per diem pay instead. I don´t know the exact rules for truck-drivers. But in Sweden the rules driving rules for truck-drivers are pretty harsh. So often they take ships in some cases even that goes parallel to the coast to travle during the rest period (its not the case in this video, Gotland is an Island, ferry is the only way to get there).
But in this case the ship goes from Nynäshamn, that is 150km, in steed of going from Västervik that is only 98km. But due tot he inland route Become shorter, even if the all over travle time is not shorter, the cost is lower anyway due to how they debilitation works.
In this specific case because she picked up it from the logistics center out side of Norrköping, it would actually been closer to Västervik, but due to most other trucks comes from Stockholm, there is no truck ferry from Västervik to Gotland
But this is actually very common in Nordic countries. Specially routes like Copenhagen to Oslo, that if one would look at the map would think that just driving on the highways would be the best option, but the ferry is in a lot of cases actually better. There is also routes from Germany to Finland and of cause from Sweden till Finland and Estonia

I have never worked in logistics, but the fact that she drives a track, unloads the pallets AND stores them in freezer is a really amazing job. She is like full-stack logistics person!

I’m the same with social anxiety, my family finds it stupid and weird but mine spikes thru the roof when I’m doing something in a completely different environment, it takes a few months to adjust but I settle nicely when I know the ppl around me and the environment but i don’t think I know someone say much their anxiety so it’s pretty cool to now know someone who has it and is a youtube trucker

I didn't notice before that you don't like crowds, probably because of your job. But you're having fun with a group of friends, you've shown it. Every truck driver feels the same way.
It must be nice to live in Sweden and be a truck driver. Beautiful varied landscapes, sometimes with boat trips. I suppose winter has its own charms. Outside the cold. Plus, you've slept under the stars twice.

Great video! I loved your galaxy light. I sleep with a bluetooth speaker that has a TF card in it, and it plays sound effects like rain and thunder, frogs and crickets, etc. That puts me right off to sleep!

The ferry trips are really interesting. And dogs are my favorite part of hauling trusses for construction, lots of framers and construction workers have their dogs with them.

Very nice. Wish we had the big trucks here in the UK. Small steps are being made to get them on the road here but its painfully slow with a lot of pushback.
I am quite amazed at the amount of the work you do yourself... In other parts of the world somebody else would load and unload your truck while you wait....

Really Nice, been driving truck for 3 weeks now and first ferry trips were a bit stressful but now feeling fine with those
the freezer rooms were minus 18C in the place where I was delivering berries from the farm. People work there too, processing fresh berries, the quick freeze machines go even colder. people in full winter ger, get cold there anyway :)

Hi Cassie, my daughters name is spelled the same as yours. I used to drive tour and charter coaches all-round Australia for many years loved driving and the best part was that I got to be paid for driving and having a holiday every day of it. Happy and safe travels.

Its really luxury when the truck drivers get a A cabin. I guess its the low season they have loads of spare capacity.
That was so weird seeing so many trucks I have worked on in this video. The Viking Tow truck to you right coming off the Ferry was from our shop. We have since sold Viking. Greetings from Gotland! 😊

When i was younger i have been "jailed" in a freezer room at a professional kitchen at minus 25 degrees because of a damaged door, while all the other workers were at lunch. Finding me after 20 minutes or a little bit more, the kitchen-boss didn`t believe me, that the door-mechanism was damaged. He closed the door from the insid and we both were stuck..... 🙂

hello iam truck driver in america I think it so cool you got to gp on the ship and they supply with bunk area and a cabin while the ship is in route to the port once thing I do like better in America trucking most drivers don't load or unload their loads cause most insurance company s don't allow it here in states for drivers to run a folk lift but it be so cool to make a del where you have to get on ship to make del have a nice day
