My new iPhone came like that. Lucky I had those type of chargers for my iPad. But I agree they should come with a charger. I think the purpose behind that is to mandate a single standardised port so folks don't need to carry different cables for different devices. It also means fewer cables need to be manufactured and supplied with new products, thus reducing the e-waste created by discarded electronic goods or so they say? Me personally I think it’s a straight up jack and creates more e-waste because you have to buy more crap to be in this new compliance

I understand they want to stay ahead of the game, but if companies supply a cord with a newly purchased phone..the charge block should be included

@@righteousredneck777 man I remember a time when you bought a new phone you would get a cable, a charging block and headphones. The funny thing is those phones were much cheaper too. I think it’s about them trying to save money. I didn’t get a smartphone until 2010. The iPhone 4. I always thought I didn’t need a smart phone, all I was doing was making calls and texting a bit. I guess I didn’t know I needed one until I got one. To be honest the only reason I did was I liked the idea of my phone being my music player because I had a old flip phone but I had a iPod too, So when Verizon offered the iPhone 4 I thought I would try it, I was like my iPod and my phone will integrated and I won’t have to carry all this stuff.
