ive only taken the light rail from penn station to the convention center, it still a nice ride either way. lol just dont miss your stop, i seen people do that before.
I wish we had light rail in Omaha, Nebraska. However, we do not have the population to support such transit systems. We couldn't support the old interurbans in Omaha and Lincoln back in the 1920s. Even transit magnate William Brown McKinley couldn't save the Omaha and Lincoln Railway and Light Company, even if he had the option of joining it to the Omaha, Lincoln, and Beatrice Railway. OL&B never left the Lincoln area, while the O&LR&L ran from Omaha to Ralston and Papillion. Thanks for sharing!
I more than likely will be taking this light rail when I am in town in June. Wanted to watch some of this so that way I know what to expect when I am on it.
I've been to Baltimore a couple of times and always wished I could ride the Light Rail and Metro. Upon seeing the platforms, I wish there were station signs that would allow people inside the cars to see. They look more like bus stops, which is OK, but it with the lack of station announcements (and people listening to music) it would benefit adding a couple of them on each platform.
You think it is cool that you can get on a train right by the stadium after a game, until you get stuck in the middle of everybody. When I went to a Dallas Stars game, I took the DART to and from my hotel and the arena.
I haven't been on the light rail in 3 years since the fare was 3.50. . I'm enjoying this video. Since carnona virus is going now. I just wish all of this would go away so people can get on with their lives.
Funny thing is about this video is the fact that I was at the airport on the same day as you and I got on the b30 bus rare recording of an XDE-60 and some Washington DC Metrobuses I got on , sadly I have lost those videos due to a mistake I have made uploading videos thinking that I was able to delete the videos I caught of the buses I have got on it was still download my videos on TH-cam perfectly fine but I need it to download it
Yes. From, I believe Westport station to Cromwell/Glen Burnie station. The path still exists now for major power-lines. If it was ever the possibility, the Yellow Line could go as far as Arnold with the addition of a bridge-crossing into Annapolis to maybe Navy Memorial Stadium.
That's a good question. These Metro operators and Light rail train operators don't even call out the stops when they're supposed to. We need to start complain to MTA about it. But they don't care.
Alex Jirgens Not automated. The operators call out the stops. Come early Spring 2016, our first rehabbed car will make it's first appearance with basically every aspect of the carriage equipped with new modern amenities - one being automated announcements. From that first car coming back; undergoing test runs, then finally beginning service, the other 52 individual cars will be rehabbed with the process being completed come 2018.
The reason why I have to delete it because I have ran out of space on my SD card and the worst part is I had a 32 gigabyte just sitting on my refrigerator self
***** I'm a bit confused about the lightrail to. I've never used it. If I wanted to get to Camden Station from BWI Airport, can I just get on any train that stops there? Like, will ANY train I get on at BWI stop at Camden Yards?
RavenGames101 Coming from BWI Airport to Camden Station, yes. Coming from Camden Station to BWI Airport, no. There are authentically three "light rail" lines [Blue; Yellow; Penn-Camden Shuttle] operating on the same corridor. When coming from the BWI Airport the only line serving that station terminal is the "Blue" line. Heading to "Hunt Valley" - as displayed on destination sign - the line reaches Linthicum station where it conjoins with the Yellow line. Note, all stops north of Linthicum station is occupied by two lines (Blue and Yellow). Once one reaches Camden Station, one more line is added to the corridor (Penn-Camden Shuttle) which only operates through downtown until Mount Royal/Univ. of Balto. station then serves Penn Station/Amtrak. When heading from Camden Station or any stations north of Linthicum station to BWI Airport, take the southbound train with destination displayed "BWI THURGOOD MARSHALL AIRPORT". Helpful?
Yeah, all lines operate full-time. Yellow Line short-trips to Timonium Business Park on off-peak and weekends; Penn-Camden Line shuttles between Penn Station and Camden Yards full time as well.
Man you are awesome! Thanks for another great video and thanks for giving Baltimore and the MTA a great presence on TH-cam!
This is... pretty impressive! Uploading a 1+ hour video is something most transit channels don't do (anymore)
That was a very relaxing and delightful video trip upon the Blue Line. Thank you very much!
No problem.
I bet that box with the pad mounted transformer is one of the MTA substations. Sweet! 27:58.
M&T Bank stadium and the City of Baltimore looks so Beautiful
😂😂😂😂

I moved into the Avalon apartments right by the Hunt Valley station.
long ago that bridge was one track. nice to see it doubled.

Great video! You should do a daytime version also

Make sure to take it on a weekend. Rush-hour and mid-days are ridiculous and full awes and "okay wow" moments... like any other major urban system.

KEWL! All this was in "planning stages" before my ex and I broke up in 1982?
its cool how they have a wmata bus conneting to a mta lightrail 2 diffrent transit systems plus their both big

This video is at least 6 or 7 years old. A lot of businesses had closed down.
True. I plan on doing a new one showing both directions. Gotta find the most opportune time to do one.
love your videos im a big transit bus fun. but i live in savannah ga
Would rather see all-daytime but thanks... someone should post video-times for each stop

Will I find the section of Cromwell to Hamburg in here? :)

Does the Yellow Line use any of the old Baltimore & Annapolis Right of Way?
Yes. From, I believe Westport station to Cromwell/Glen Burnie station. The path still exists now for major power-lines. If it was ever the possibility, the Yellow Line could go as far as Arnold with the addition of a bridge-crossing into Annapolis to maybe Navy Memorial Stadium.

mta buses and bus drivers need to get there shit together

Do they not announce stops? I can't hear a thing.

+MJofLakeland1 I'm assuming you'll probably shoot a new video when the new cars are rolled out?
Also, what's the constant "tapping"? Isn't that the the train trying to connect with the wire?
Alex Jirgens The traction of the wheels sort-of slipping when accelerating. Steel-on-steel is like skis on ice.
But at least got 1 Metro bus uploaded successfully out of 15 videos of good footage
The reason why I have to delete it because I have ran out of space on my SD card and the worst part is I had a 32 gigabyte just sitting on my refrigerator self
Based on when this video was uploaded, I believe all the people coming from the Hamburg Station were coming from the Ravens vs. Raiders game right?
Correct.
