OH. MY. GOSH. As a totally uncoordinated person who's had problems with curling irons in the past, this is such a great tutorial. I've been able to curl my hair and it looks amazing! Thank you SO MUCH!!!
I’m so grateful that I found your Channel! I don’t remember who it was suggested your channel but, I owe them a huge thank you! I’m 50 with very fine hair and your videos have helped me so much.
Pamela I am so happy to know that the channel has helped you. I put all of my heart into creating the content with viewers like you in mind. I am thankful to have you here.
Dear Gabie i have been binging your channel. Ive posted before about my thinning hair and I have a fre question’s. So, my hair started totally thinning like you read about after a major emergency surgery I had and it’s not bouncing back. So, i watched your hair m.d. video and i also watched your keratin products you used on Jen. Which one should I buy? Can’t wait to hear your advice. Thanks so much for sharing your story it’s really giving me hope .
Hi Gabi. I’m one of your thin haired gals. Please tell me the best product to put in my hair to keep the curls after using my curling iron as my hair loses its curl in a hot minute. Or anyone else that has this same problem and has found a solution.
This is the tutorial that I have been waiting for! I am going to PRACTICE until I can master it. You are such a natural teacher Gabi, thank you! Your hair and outfit is simply gorgeous as always 💕.
Oelfah! Thank you for leaving a comment and for watching. I really look forward to seeing your comments each week. They mean a lot to me. I'm happy that this one was helpful. Play it back when you go try it on yourself and start with the iron OFF. That will make a big difference. As soon as you figure out how to move your hands, you will be golden!
@@GlamGirlGabi Thank you so much for your kind response Gabi 🤗. I am definitely going to replay this over and over and will practice with the curling iron off. Will keep you posted 😁.
I've been trying to understand and create this exact curl for a year. Could not do it ! Low and behold Gabi explains it with such a wonderful understanding. Tried it before work today and wow, tons of compliments !! I feel more youthful, look more modern and polished ! Thank you so much Gabi, from Ottawa, On xoxo
I've never been able to do this without my hair looking like a mess. But after seeing your demo, I gave it another try today and had success! Thank you for the great tutorial, Gabi!
Oh this made so much sense to me?! Finally, the light bulb has gone on in my head! I’m excited now to try this. Tomorrow morning my curling iron and I have a date 😊 thank you Gabi for showing step by step so clearly ❤
Well! This explains a lot, actually. Why my left side (I'm right-handed too) is so easy but my right side makes me feel pretzelized with my hands and the iron. This technique and result is SO much prettier than the bent-paper-clip over-under 'waves' everyone seems to favor right now. Thank you for showing us how to do this!
Thank you so much for watching! If you have any curling questions for me, leave them here. I try to respond to as many questions as I possibly can. Thank you so much for this video! I haven’t curled my hair since the 80’s. I tried the curling wand and it was an epic fail with my hand burnt. I decided to go with a curling iron. I needed an easy to follow method to get nice, soft curls. Your video is amazing and I love my curls!
Thank you for putting together a very clear and concise tutorial. Most tutorials are rushed without details. Like "rocking" the thumb part to move the curling iron smoothly down the hair. Seems simple enough we should all know that, but last time i curled my hair was in the 80's with the curl from the ends method.
I cant even thank you more!!! Your video's have literally changed my life. I seem to get your teaching and direction. Thank you from my heart. Im feeling better and looking better. And a fellow Canadian...so proud of you. You help so much and you are beautiful inside and out.
I just came back from my hairdresser and my stylist styled my hair exactly that way and gave me the same “tutorial”. But now, I can look at it over and over again while I am practicing! Thank you Gabi for another GREAT video😍
Thank god you did this video, its brilliant im a lady of a certain age so sometimes demonstrations are too quick i get flustrated and give up i feel i can do this now thank you x
Lisa, I totally understand. Even I GET FRUSTRATED and give up when a demonstration is too fast. I really wanted to go slowly with this one so that every single person would understand it. Sometimes people overcomplicate simple things. A clamp iron seems confusing but you just have to know how to position the hair and the iron and as soon as you master that, you're good to go.
YOU ❤ are so clever, I have never been able to create such successful curls. You are amazing at teaching & explaining with such precision & detail...thank you, beautiful Gabi 😍
I definitely learned something new! I'm right handed, like you mentioned above, left side is difficult to achieve. Now thank to you Mrs Glam girl, will be easier with this step by step video. YOU ROCK❣
What a great video, it's so great to have someone actually spell out how exactly to do it. And I appreciated seeing you do your left side, the 'hard' side and it looking just as awkward for you and it feels for me, lol. Have a great day!!!
Thank you again for another very informative video!! Each time I watch ur channel I think of Gina Gershon.... You really resemble her and it's a compliment! You both are gorgeous!!!
Thank you Gabi this answers all my questions I will practice as I love this look. You look amazing as always thank you again for sharing your knowledge 💕💕
Hello, what curling machine you use in this video? I’m thinking to buy me one but I’m not sure witch one, my hair is black kinda thick and very short, also idk if for me is 1 inch or 0.75 inch, what is the difference?
Hi Gabi! I am curious if blondes should use purple shampoo if a clarifying shampoo is used every couple of weeks. Do both types of products eliminate brassy tones equally?
Hey Rene! No they do not work in the same way. A clarifying shampoo will strip the hair of product build up whereas a purple shampoo will tone the color and make your blonde ashier and less yellow. Purple is the opposite color of yellow so it neutralizes yellow and turns it white'ish. Although hair can turn yellow due to product buildup, it will not magically turn ashy again when the product buildup is removed. Therefore, you definitely need the color pigment to correct that. Also - be careful with how much you use both of these because they're both known to be drying especially on hair that is heavily color treated. Use them sparingly (once or twice a week max).
I'm so happy that you found this video. I hope that it was helpful for you. I tried to simplify it and go slowly the entire time so that it was achievable for people to recreate on their own.
Oh my god just found you. First time I’ve found such a detailed tutorial. Thank you. And I am loving the run thru with a cold one first. My hair is long, any body got suggestions for a good clamp iron to buy and what inch would I need for long hair . Also who knew it was called a clamp iron. ❤
Whoop Whoop 2nd hehe! I'm inspired to bring out the ol clamp curler and smash this style out of the park. I have similar length hair to you so winning at that. My husband and most guys like women with waves as opposed to poker-straight ironed hair, but who cares about what they think, 🤭we do it for the girls, wink!
LOL! I actually laughed out loud because that couldn't be more true. We absolutely do it for the girls! HAHAHAHA! It's way more of a compliment when a girl tells me she thinks I'm pretty then when a guy does. Dust off that clamp curling iron and give this a try :)
Thank you Gabi, this was a great step by step tutorial. I have tried this about 100x and failed each time, but I will have this right next to me when I try again. I would like to ask you if you have heard of the beachwaver tool. I have seen so many ads recently - it is similar to the curling iron you are using, however has a small clamp at the bottom of the barrel and with a switch automatically turns the iron( either left or right). It is said that the curl is a lot tighter giving a more beach wave effect. Always love to hear your opinion on hot tools. 😊💕
Thanks for leaving such a nice comment Diane! I feel like sometimes I breeze too quickly through my tutorials without taking into account that not everyone has the same level of experience. I really wanted to simplify this so that every single person who watched this could understand how to do it.
I fail with flat irons. I fall with straighteners. The only hair tool I seemed to have mastered is a barrel iron, because all you have to do is wrap your hair around it. As long as you don’t burn yourself, you’re good. You should do a video showing side by side how each heat tools works and how they make the curl look different.
That is an amazing idea. I also love a wand but you have to start with smooth hair in order to get good results. I am going to curl my hair with a wand tomorrow. I will film it and make this video as soon as possible.
Anyone know the brand of those giant black clips for holding a large clump of hair out of the way? I only have clips that hold smaller strands which are fine for small sections.
I love this, but it takes forever to stand there and do this. I sweat so bad by the time I'm done I need another shower. So I've been sticking hot rollers in my hair, instead. I dont like the outcome but I really can't deal with how long a curling iron takes.
I would suggest that you do the most difficult side first, once you’ve mastered the technique. As we tire, we get sloppy and lazy, and put in less effort. If you’re sloppy with the second side, it probably won’t be as obvious as doing it in reverse.
I never understood why it seems like everyone dumped using these.... and used a flat iron (which produces that weird 'kink' in the end). I've also had move than one stylist (young one) that had NO IDEA how to even use these. sad.
