As a fellow Mike Patton fan, watching Glenn accidentally kill the conversation by lecturing everyone about how great Mike Patton is is probably the most I've ever related to him.
I physically cringed with how Rob just didn’t seem to get it lol I mean the guy wants to put Axel Rose in the top 5 but doesn’t even seem to know who Mike fucking Patton is!?
I have been waiting for The Lawyer to come on the podcast for months. My favorite side character besides cricket. Every delivery is perfect by him lmao
Glenn has great taste in music. I've seen him in Gojira shirts and Mastodon sweaters and now hearing him talk about Mike Patton is really doing it for me. He's even wearing a Tomahawk shirt in this one! I play bass in a Faith No More tribute (Faith ReNo More) and it's an absolute blast.
Glen saying “I don’t know what you’re saying, I’m having trouble following this” is giving the same vibes as “it’s a highly sexual experience.” Escape room lady: “this is not sexual at all.” “Well then I don’t know what this is you’ve not explained it well enough.”
anyone who agrees with this, highly suggest looking at Noddy Holder, of the band Slade. Such a gritty and yet melodic rock n roll voice. Always my top rock singer, and I feel like Ann Wilson is the female version of him
Great episode but my favorite part was watching Kaitlyn's fantastic acting in the clip they showed of Mac eating the paper. I had never noticed it before but I could see the moment where Dee goes from confusion to realization of why Mac was asking for the document and it's incredible how much she commits to the moment even when the attention isn't on her. She is phenomenal.
The fact that she still out performs all of her peers she came up with shows how amazing she is. And her sister is one of the greatest guitar players to pick up a guitar even if she's not a lead. I'm not even close to a huge Heart fan, but credit is due where it is due.
Ann Wilson is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED! Big up to Glenn for recognising her as the greatest voice in Rock 'n' Roll history! My respect for this man just doubled 🙌
Underrated? She did all those covers for Led Zeppelin for their induction because she's well known as one of the best voices... They wouldn't have trusted that to just anybody
I actually do appreciate someone putting Wilson where she belongs. Heart is a band that, especially back in the day, like my dad got teased a little for liking them. I watched their HoF performance a few years ago, aka they're all old as eff hah, and they absolutely KILLED it! Wilson's vocals are still out of this world, and her sister is a criminally underrated guitar player.
Glenn’s mention of Ann Wilson doing Zeppelin is spot on - she totally murders it. I love Robert plant but I think her covers of them are the best zeppelin covers
Mike Patton is absolutely incredible. Not just an amazing voice and range, but he does so many different styles. Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, Tomahawk, Dead Cross, Peeping Tom, Lovage, etc. and they all sound different.
it makes me wonder whether he never brought this up to Danny DeVito, who is a fan of Patton so befriended him which is kinda surreal (P.S. Patton G.O.A.T. hands down)
As eccentric as Glenn can be, I find that I relate to him more and more. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, but thanks for sharing your questionable opinions, Glenn!
OMG. I'm totally a female version of Glenn. I have an opinion about everything and just about everything and everyone irritates me! (glad I'm not alone!).
@@kerrie2222 same, I never thought I'd be a Glenn Gal but after getting to know his real personality and opinions thru the pod, even the SUPER niche ones, I realize I am Glenn
Any of us who saw that performance for the first time in the last month - I wonder what is going on. I mean I love Zeppelin, grew up with Heart, and I'm here for the crew - but I have to think IASiP fans have great taste in all arts. Is Mr. Bungle better than the Beatles? Only on this channel
Everything about that was incredible, the drums being played by the son of the late led zeppelin drummer, the rest of the band brought to tears in the crowd, the gospel choir behind Anne Wilsons epic performance. Stunning.
How in the hell was the writing of this not discussed? Charlie’s sales pitch at the top of the episode is some of the funniest stuff I’ve ever heard strung together and his performance sells it so dang hard. I so wish they had delved into the crazy of this ep a little harder. Having said that, Bono from U2 is literally named from Bono Vox, or good voice. Come on, guys! Throw on some “Even Better than the Real Thing,” and you’ll be smitten!
@@mrkev2591 lmao do you really believe this? My dog is a better vocalist than Axl Rose, Guns N Roses are the band you like when you get into rock music for the first time at age 14 because you haven't yet realised that long hair, bandanas and aviators are the absolute epitomy of what's not cool
My favorite bit in that Episode is when Dee and Charlie are in the car spying on the Lawyer at the Hotel, only to find out they were spying from the Lawyer's car LOL!
Makes me think of the podcast clip where the question is posed, "which of you is most likely you character?" All three paise and conclude none are really but Glenn pauses longer to admit he is just one characteristic shared with Dennis. I kept thinking to myself suuuuuuure buddy, YOU ARE DENNIS
@@jsmithers. dude I just found you on #48. You’ve been no lifing the comment section on this podcast for at least 20 episodes spamming clown emojis. What is your life?
I'm one of those people who loves Mr. Bungle. Their self titled album is a symphony. I'm the only person I know who appreciates them on that level, so it's always cool to know that there are others. Love is a fist!
Ann Wilson is phenomenal as a rock vocalist, and definitely near the top. That being said, we’re also ignoring Stevie Nicks and Linda Ronstadt, two the most beautiful voices is to ever grace the rock genre.
Ann Wilson is incredible - I was fortunate enough to see Heart live years ago and they absolutely blew me away. Nancy Wilson is also an incredible and very underrated rock guitarist - just the acoustic guitar intro to “Crazy on You” gets her a place in the hall of fame if you ask me.

I’ve seen heart live multiple times and even recently and she never disappoints. I would say Ann Wilson was the first female lead that made me recognize that women could be rock stars.
Ann Wilson is insanely talented. Rob doesn't get it.
I think Rob loves playing Devil's Advocate against Glenn... It makes the relationship between Dennis and Mac more true.
The thing is, she isn’t a household name and never will be. That’s not to say she isn’t incredible..Glenn literally had to google her name, as most would.. and to throw into top rock voices is quite odd, as Glenn is
I love Rob, but that whole section of the podcast made me wanna slap him in the teeth lmfao
Meg’s absence is palpable. 😂
Yeah the show is way more fun this way.
I agree so much. I’d call it rudderless
It’s a delightful change of pace. Though her being there is not a bad thing. Just dig this free-wheelin conversation
Her laugh is really distracting for me. I much prefer these ones
@mtbra9435 yeah, I loved when they talked about music for an hour rather than the show I came for.
dennis’ little eye roll when he says, “paddy’s thong dude,” is my favorite moment in the series
I was disappointed that the guys didn't specifically reference that eyeroll in this podcast episode, haha. I think it's the funniest part of that entire "dicktowel" scene. Never seen Dennis do that kind of eyeroll before or since then, and it's so damn funny, lol
"I'm tryna turn YOU on bro" is top 5 Dennis lines for me
@@toddpinkstonisgod that’s the ONE thing I wanted them to reference lol, it’s the funniest part of the entire scene

Sorry Rob, but Glenn's right (not about The Beatles, but everything else). Ann Wilson is NOT an unknown (put some respect on her name!) and does indeed have One of the Greatest Rock Voices ever. She DOES crush the Led Zeppelin covers! Axl Rose's voice is absolutely overrated compared to hers.
(The guys might need Meg for structure and to talk about the episode, but some of the best, most re-playable conversations definitely happen when she's not around to reign in their chaos. More sports-talk radio style chat please!!!)
Note: If this podcast episode was recorded on the day before Meg's birthday, then this was filmed on May 31. The review Rob is reading out from is the Collider review for Season 16 written by Ross Bonaime. It dropped on May 30, so over a week before the new season dropped for the public on June 7, and was the first review to come out (as far as I can tell).
Glenn is right about the Beatles to
Thanks bro. Hate listening to these guys talk about their bougie ass lives, really anything beyond the series.
@@caesarnemkin6698 You should definitely listen to the _whole_ pod, this was a fantastic and funny episode! I just make these lists of timecodes so it's easier to find specific bits on a rewatch. But to each their own I suppose.
YES MORE MEG SLANDER, SHE SUCKS!!!
As a fellow Mike Patton fan, watching Glenn accidentally kill the conversation by lecturing everyone about how great Mike Patton is is probably the most I've ever related to him.
Championing Mike Patton: You might not make any new friends, but you'll be RIGHT, DAMMIT
I physically cringed with how Rob just didn’t seem to get it lol I mean the guy wants to put Axel Rose in the top 5 but doesn’t even seem to know who Mike fucking Patton is!?
@@MrAnarchism savages!
Mike Patton's range is fucking incredible, he can sound like a shrieking demon or sound as smooth as fat mac's dancing across the stage
Yesss!!!! Pattone rules. Everyone knows he is the most versatile, most rangey and unique vocalist ever.
I have been waiting for The Lawyer to come on the podcast for months. My favorite side character besides cricket. Every delivery is perfect by him lmao
Glenn transforms into Dennis when Rob is annoying him HAHA
You can feel the sexual tension between them.
Underrated comment.
“She IS a household name. … I couldn’t even think of her name.” 😂😂😂
"A lot of tension in the room today." from Dennis while Rob was explaining and clarifying had me laughing out loud 😅😂
This episode gives the best insight into what a writing session with these three would look like
Glenn is 100 percent correct. Ann Wilson has the voice of a goddess.
I'm physically incapable of listening to barracuda and not absolutely loving it Every. Fucking. Time.
His comment on Robert Plant is outrageous however.
@@NiekBrokkelkoek I wholeheartedly agree
Ann Wilson is definitely incredible but I think Annie Lennox narrowly beats her out
@@NiekBrokkelkoek Have you heard her cover of Stairway to Heaven though? She's brilliant. Glenn's kinda got a point here.
The Mac and Dennis dynamic is totally in play for Glenn and Rob, especially for the rock vocalist conversation
I'm with Glen 100%! Ann Wilson!!!❤️
+1 for Mike Patton and +1 for Axl being a bit grating as well. Fully on board.
anyone who agrees with this, highly suggest looking at Noddy Holder, of the band Slade. Such a gritty and yet melodic rock n roll voice. Always my top rock singer, and I feel like Ann Wilson is the female version of him
Mike Patton as well 😂
I came here to say this but knew in my heart it had already been said
plus Mr Bungle? Glenn rules
I love how off the rails the pod is without Meg lmao. Wtf are they talking about, but I can't stop watching.
They always seem to do better when there’s no order to the podcast lol
I do feel we need Meg, but every so often these off the rails pods are a really fun departure at times
The Dennis-O-meter is a very welcome addition to the podcast
Great episode but my favorite part was watching Kaitlyn's fantastic acting in the clip they showed of Mac eating the paper. I had never noticed it before but I could see the moment where Dee goes from confusion to realization of why Mac was asking for the document and it's incredible how much she commits to the moment even when the attention isn't on her. She is phenomenal.
These guys sold out and are simply not funny anymore.
Never sell your soul to the devil.
@@Fuckinferrarisgreat response bro. Really crushed the unwarranted comment that no one asked for😎
I went to a Heart concert in 2009 and Ann Wilson was AMAZING! Truly astounding voice and just as strong as it was in the 70's!
Ann Wilson is top 5 greatest rock vocalists ever, hands down. I'm disappointed more people didn't immediately know who Glenn was talking about.
The fact that she still out performs all of her peers she came up with shows how amazing she is. And her sister is one of the greatest guitar players to pick up a guitar even if she's not a lead. I'm not even close to a huge Heart fan, but credit is due where it is due.
@@FlorJor26 not due there
Ann Wilson is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED! Big up to Glenn for recognising her as the greatest voice in Rock 'n' Roll history! My respect for this man just doubled 🙌

Glenn and Charlie shouting out Mike Patton/Mr. Bungle made me insanely happy.
Same. And they’re cred instantly upgraded.

I actually do appreciate someone putting Wilson where she belongs. Heart is a band that, especially back in the day, like my dad got teased a little for liking them. I watched their HoF performance a few years ago, aka they're all old as eff hah, and they absolutely KILLED it! Wilson's vocals are still out of this world, and her sister is a criminally underrated guitar player.
ann wilson is actually legendary and underrated thank you so much Dennis...i mean glenn
Glenn's music opinions are always on point, Ann Wilson is amazing.
who?
She's got big pipes. Nancy is a better guitarist than Ann is a singer tho. Can't believe nobody mentioned Freddie Mercury!
Ann Wilson is incredible. I agree. More people SHOULD know her!!!
Glenn: "Vegetables are toxic"
Glenn doing an ad read 15 minutes later: "I drink Athletic Greens every morning"
Charlie's laugh after Glenn's diatribe about killer vegetables is exactly how I felt too.
Ann Wilson is Incredible, so is Nancy, all eras of Heart rock, their cover of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors is life changing.
Nancy is a criminally underrated shredder.
Glenn’s mention of Ann Wilson doing Zeppelin is spot on - she totally murders it. I love Robert plant but I think her covers of them are the best zeppelin covers
fully agree! dreamboat annie does robert plant better than he does
"You know what I'm realizing? We need Meg here." Best line, lol.
Glenn’s rage is untethered and knows no bounds ❤
Superlatives are perilous but it’s safe to say Meg’s the best moderator of this podcast.
At around 52:00 when they realise they need Meg, and true combined laugh was just lush
So funny cause when I read your comment, I looked up at my TV and the moment happened 10 sec after
Thank you Glenn, so right on musical decision-making. Mike Patton rules! Music nerd pride! Charlie too, nice Bungle drop. I love you all
He was also the voice of The Darkness in the video game series The Darkness.
Mike Patton is absolutely incredible. Not just an amazing voice and range, but he does so many different styles.
Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, Tomahawk, Dead Cross, Peeping Tom, Lovage, etc. and they all sound different.
Patton did the monster noises for “I am legend” also
The energy/tension in this podcast was palpable and hilarious
I now think Glenn is the coolest, his love for Mike Patton, the Tomahawk shirt and thinking Axl Rose is grating is amazing.
I feel bad now because I love that band and I noticed it near the end.😢
Pretty sure I saw him with a goijira shirt too which was super cool
@Z3R0NU11 he had a dope mastodon Christmas sweater in the ep with Danny devito too
He has great taste in music.
it makes me wonder whether he never brought this up to Danny DeVito, who is a fan of Patton so befriended him which is kinda surreal (P.S. Patton G.O.A.T. hands down)
Love the podcast. I can not wait until the gang talks, "Charlie Work" hands down my favorite episode.
At the start I found him eccentric but the more I listen to the pod, he's slowly become my favorite

I feel like Glenn could have spent the entire episode making a passionate argument about Mr. Bungle being superior to the Beatles 😂
Charlie quietly responding ‘no’ with complete certainty to that assertion was my fav thing about the whole tangent.
@castfxman Amen.
California is one of the greatest albums of the last 30 years.
And I would have spent the entire time just glued to this argument
And he would be absolutely right.
Glenn was spot on with Ann Wilson. Her stairway to heaven for the Kennedy center thing was one of the greatest performances of all time
I saw that performance for the first time a couple weeks ago and yeah it’s insane. I’ve prob seen it like 10 times atp.
it's arguably better than any of zeppelin's versions
He’s making a good point,
Any of us who saw that performance for the first time in the last month - I wonder what is going on.
Stunning.
Mike Patton is definitely a top 3 all time vocal talent, the man is an unmatched animal who can do anything he wants with his voice!
But everything he does is shit.
The rock vocalist discussion was easily in the top 5 podcast moments of all time.

It really depends on where you measure from
I'm one of those people who loves Mr. Bungle. Their self titled album is a symphony. I'm the only person I know who appreciates them on that level, so it's always cool to know that there are others. Love is a fist!
This feels like the most Dennis I've ever seen Glenn, and it's fantastic
Ann Wilson is phenomenal as a rock vocalist, and definitely near the top. That being said, we’re also ignoring Stevie Nicks and Linda Ronstadt, two the most beautiful voices is to ever grace the rock genre.
I’d put Pat Benatar up there too!
Ann Wilson is definitely a tier above Stevie. Pitch, tone, range, pretty much everything go to Wilson.
Glenn getting so heated about Heart is such a Dennis thing to do haha
Ann Wilson is incredible - I was fortunate enough to see Heart live years ago and they absolutely blew me away. Nancy Wilson is also an incredible and very underrated rock guitarist - just the acoustic guitar intro to “Crazy on You” gets her a place in the hall of fame if you ask me.
