To the people complaining about Josh's guitar volume, this was five years ago, his volume has went up since then. Also the fact that y'all are complaining about how he sucks is unfair. Especially when they're playing an old song that Josh didn't help make, if he plays it dead ass like Frusciante, then y'all will say he isn't creative, and critique tiny things like the tone of his guitar. On the flipside, when Josh does improvise on an old song then y'all will start shit talking his abilities as a guitarist just because he didn't play it like how John would. If you listen to I'm with you, or the Getaway, you can actually get a sense of who Josh is as a guitarist.
Oh suck a rock. It shouldn’t take a year to figure out how to turn the volume knob on your guitar.
Josh is great for RHCP
The jam at the end should be sufficient proof that Josh is more than funky enough to be a pepper and that they're clearly still red hot.

This is the perfect example why Josh can do RHCP old songs as well as Frusciante, I mean, man Josh dominates this song, and is really the guy RHCP needs in this moment. And look at the end, its also fantastic Josh plays incredible and beautiful, thank god for us having Josh. If someone ever can fill out Johns shoes, Josh is the only man to do it!

After watching this, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Josh is my favourite Peppers guitarist. He can do John's songs, he can do Hillel's songs, he can do Dave's songs, and he can do his own, not to mention very well. John wouldn't do any of Dave's songs, and I doubt he'll do Josh's, so that already puts Josh above John, imo. But everything else considered, Josh is just great.

josh klinghoffer is a very good guitarist, but Frusciante is Frusciante :)
Josh is a great guitarist the only problem is with john you just got a feeling that anything could happen every time he played the same song. Josh does improvisation too but it doesent feel as good as John because that is his song he knows how to mess with it. And john is arguably his generation's most creative and inspirational guitarist.

Imagine being given the job as the new chilis guitarist. One of the greatest most prestigious jobs in music. He must have been ecstatic and so proud. As a long time friend and collaborator of Frusciante I can't think of anyone more suited to this band than Josh.
I get that he has big shoes to fill but fuck me he can't do right for doing wrong with some of you guys. Get over it. John is the past and Josh is the future. Like it or fucking lump it.

Since Josh joined, his guitar volume has been way too low. He's a great guitarist, but during most of the song, he's kind of drowned out by Anthony. Especially during the solo, you can tell that the drums are over shadowing him, when his instrument should be the loudest.
+Elliot Levy they should do something about it. I also heard they have a new album now and I hope it doesn't sound like this.
If you've been to any of there live shows since Josh joined you can tell his guitar volume is plenty loud. As far as this video and others you can blame the audio engineer for the low guitar volume
Sucky audio engineer. Hope something's done about this at some point.

With that solo, I really star to like Josh. Of course I'll always think John is better, and his Dani California's solo on La Cigale in 2006 is better too, but now I really want to let Josh have a chance, I think he'll be better than in I'm With You in the future.

Josh is good. Just not good for the Chilis. They don't have the energy they did with John, he doesn't connect with Flea in the same way, and you can tell by the lack of "communication" during the jam, and Anthony never felt a need to talk during John's solos.
Ok so theyre now in theyre 50s also this is an early ass show and anthony would talk over johns solos fucking alot and Josh and flea have great communication Josh has been freinds witth the band since 2001 and played with them in the last leg of the stadium arcadium tour
without josh we would live without rhcp at all
