I got MW3 as a bday gift. I liked the campaign. And I really liked the open combat missions. To me it kinda gave a more sense of realism to depicting modern day combat. Especially involving special operations. Almost every time, a command structure isn’t going to know every little detail involved with a mission. And in modern combat, the tiniest most insignificant of details can determine you tasting victory or defeat. And the guys on the ground often have to change plans in split seconds to get the job done. In the mission where Price and Farah are tasked with locating and eliminating Konni gas missiles, you had a few methods of approach. Being sneaky and taking out the outside perimeter Konni guards quietly. Or going in guns-a-blazing. I was able to sneak past the outside perimeter guards but eventually had to go hot. Still got the mission done. The other mission when Price had to detonate the Konni gas sites. I’d approach an objective with a already set plan of attack. But when I saw that I didn’t account for some details. I almost failed. But I changed my plan to earn victory. One objective had a helicopter guarding the objective. And I had no way to take it down. Until I found an RPG. And then the helicopter took a dirt nap. Which happens in modern day combat. Be prepared for anything and everything. I didn’t like the scripted feel to other COD campaigns, and loved the option of choice. Sometimes you gotta toss the plan out the window, get a murder boner and leave no survivors. But so long as the job is done, I see no reason to question methods. Was the campaign good? Yes, as a standalone story. And no because it was short. I sped run it in 3 hours the same day I got it.

Graves return was already show in one of MW2 seasons and in case you didn't followed them for that time he wasn't in the tank during the campaign, proof is that when he talks to Soap through radio, you don't hear any shot or explosions nearby through it, as comparision, take the AC-130 missions earlier in the game and listen when Ghost, Soap or Alejandro are talking while you are opening fire with one of the guns, you will hear bullets and explosions. That's a neat detail further showing that they knew what they were doing with Graves and his comeback was always planned
Sledgehammer didnt make this game bad. Activision did. Sledgehammer was forced to make this game when they didn't want to so they had to deal with the hand they were dealt. Sledgehammer should be proud for doing what they can with the small time they had making this game. Zombies and campaign were proof they were rushed and multiplayer were direct improvements on MW2 multiplayer
if this had been released as a discounted DLC pack instead of a full numbered sequel, people would have called it a great value and great release. Since they forced it out like this, they tainted all good will they had from MW2s pretty decent release
I've seen a lot of people make fun of Graves returning and it makes me so mad. Like Alex? Sure, we saw him sacrifice himself. Graves? We heard his voice over radio, then a tank explodes - totally could've been remote controlled! As a writer, a rule we live by is "if you don't see a body, nobody died." I said this before this game came out because it was always speculated that someone was gonna die in this game and I always thought they’d do something crazy and kill price, that’d be something different from the original trilogy and it would’ve been insane
I think you make the greatest point. Sledgehammer needs to be given the opportunity to make some gold and not saddled with coming in and fixing a project. Would love to see them cook!
Am I crazy for actually enjoying the campaign? Now is it in my top 5? Prolly not but I actually didn’t mind the story or direction at all. It was rushed for sure but I feel like it’s ending set us up for a continuation that can become way better than MW3
To be honest my Philosophy with this being my second cod game ever is “Is it bad, Yes. Do I hate it no?” At least this game made be feel something and care compared to bo3 campaign. And I played that with a friend
I will say, despite MWIII's final campaign actually being trash, I still hold to the fact that Sledgehammer COULD have actually made something pretty solid if they weren't held back by Activision's greed. A solid, fun 7/10 6-7 hour story like MWII is buried somewhere in the bones of this game. I've seen rewrites of the story that fit to make it much more engaging that would've been feasible with even just a few more months and slightly more resources. I also hold that the MP for this game was a) what MWII should've been, and b) surprisingly good! I say that as someone who played it until season 4 or so. I'm personally checked out of the franchise by now, but at this point, I'm just gonna keep wishing for the impossible: I just want the devs to stop being screwed over so they can make a good, fun COD game like we all KNOW they can, and I very much include Sledgehammer in that category. They all deserve so much better and to not be abused to high hell and back, but alas, Activision greed go brrrrr. I agree with GW, I personally do not intend to give Activision another cent out of these games, especially not after BO6 and the AI debacle. Treat your employees right, don't abuse them and force them to throw out slop, then maybe you'll have a few bucks here and there. Its really not that hard of a concept to grasp.
While it was rushed and had its hiccups it was an interesting new interpretation of MW3 hopefully we'll see news on MW4 soon so we can put an end to Makarov.
They stopped doing it for this game. There were no story continuations over the seasons, even the weird sci-fi prequel season didn’t have anything to do with the story.
6:33 LMFAO me and my friend have an inside joke where i say “ takes a shot “ everytime i see it when replaying cause it’s like a drinking game. it’s so annoying how many times they use it 😭😭😭
I'm gonna drop a hot take, i very much enjoyed the campaign of mw3, dispised the ending, and was surprised it ended so abruptly. The campaign seemed unfinished but I very much enjoyed the game play we were given. Also I used game pass to play it, I wasn't spending money on it
Okay, let it be known: Sledgehammer had extremely little to do with the campaign outside of the game being their title. While Sledgehammer was busy remaking all the MW2 maps, making sure Carry Forward worked, and rebuilding the MWII MP from the ground up, Infinity Ward was the main force behind the Campaign. It should be no surprise that this one was hot sh!t given they had just finished MWII the year before.
OG Makarov does look like Marcus Parks. I always knew you were cool and now I know you're a LPOTL/No Dogs In Space listener, favorite channel achieved.
I got this game a few months after release at a discount, so I was pretty aware of how piss poor the campaign was. Playing through it was like watching a bad 2000s action movie. It's so terrible to watch it becomes almost entertaining. I definitely didn't appreciate the gameplay of the campaign. The lack of music and teammates to fight alongside throughout the entire campaign contributed to my boredom. The multiplayer was fun as hell, but I felt the disgust rise more and more as they kept adding cosmetics and overtuned weapons banking purely on nostalgia and crossover partnerships. Overall I was very disappointed in this game. Cod in recent years has had fantastic gunplay, but everything else is steadily losing quality, even the campaign, which has been the primary thing I enjoy.
Alex coming back is waaaaaaaaay worse than "Somehow Palpatine returned", because powerful sith lords coming back from the dead is VERY old hat for Star Wars, way before the sequel trilogy was even an itch in JJ's wrinkly grey head meat.
This must have been a struggle to make. I am surprised you didn't add a win for the underwater section though, with the unique animation when getting attacked. That's all I could remember when watching someone play this game.
Your videos on average are like, 26-31 minutes long, and that's for games that have 8+ hour campaigns The fact you managed to get this video above 15 minutes at all is both highly respectable and impressive, and shows that you tried This is why I love seeing you upload, no matter the game. No doubt this had to be a headache to write for lol
I was hoping you would cover MWIII to complete the list (since you covered 2019 and MWII) and I'm glad to find that you managed to cover it... even though Modern Warfare IV is around the corner soon.
Ghost needs to go rouge and basically see price as an enemy or at least not trust him because not allowing soap to kill Makarov allowed Makarov to kill hundreds of people and kill Johnny maybe he goes back to Mexico and joins Los Vaqueros because I bet Alejandro and Rodolfo would both be utterly furious after they find out what happened to soap
Y’know, the original plans for MWIII’s campaign were for it to be a smaller scale story set in Las Almas. Which could’ve been really cool if done right. Unfortunately, Activision got greedy and made them turn it into a “full” game rather than a DLC, resulting in the absolute mess we have today.
MWIII really just needed more time, it was just short of being a great game in every aspect you pretty much nailed it on the head. The studio has been shafted so much and this game just reflects that hard
Its kind of unbelievable the absolute run cod has had lately. Cold war, Mw2, Mw3, Vanguard and now bo6 may be some of the worst the franchise has to offer
In regards to the open combat missions, only the nuclear power plant and the dam are straight rips from Warzone. The dockyard and plane crash are heavily modified Warzone segments. The mansion and apartment complex are completely unique and not pulled from Warzone
I'll be so real, I did the same thing with just downloading it of Game Pass to see what it was like. I quit by the mission where Price takes out the helicopters. I died once, and when I had to restart the mission after taking out 2 helicopters already I just quit
I got more value and playtime out of MWIII's MP than I did the last 5 last CoD games combined. I don't play these games for the campaign or zombies and it'd unfortunate the best MP we've had in years is overshadowed by the failures of a single player mode most people don't play, or go through once and never revisit again.
pleeeasee do stalker 2 more people need to be talking about it, its got problems but gsc deserves the world for the effort and love they put into it over 14 years
I don’t think anyone understands that MW3 multi was just a different filter to MW2 Multi and not a lot changed, so it’s like you put a chocolate cake in front of someone that is poorly made and you just add whip cream on top to cover the rest of the cruddy cake, I’ve played the multi through out 2024 and honestly it wasn’t like 2019 Multi, that was the good game with a good amount of fun and it did have a few maps and guns that were one sided but I can say I had more fun memories from that then MW3
Live played COD since I was 10. 17 years later the only real “misses” were vanguard and advanced warfare. They might not be perfect but BOPS6 and MW3 are some of the best from a objective standpoint
Your “Somehow Palpatine returned” digs don’t really work at all when movie actually tells you how he returned. Sorry, just needed to point that out. You don’t need to have your hand held for every single explanation.
I fear I may regret posting this comment but am I the only one who actually LIKES this campaign? (I'm a more story-driven person and I liked the story it had) Edit: In the Stadium, there was a point where Price just drives by Makarov in the ambulance and I found that absolutely HILARIOUS should've gotten a win for that tbf
You’re insane to actually like the campaign. The plot has more plat holes than Swiss cheese, kill off main characters in the bullshit ways, and retcon the entire OG Modern Warfare series. Just watch ActMans review of it
@@hatersgonnarate3973 Like I said, I'm probably gonna regret posting the comment with the amount of threats imma get from deranged commenters, you're probably gonna be one of the tame ones LMAO. It all comes down to heavy preference, and I am nothing short of pickiness, so I just like it.
5:18 this on the other hand works partially for the “somehow, palpatine returned” arguement. Yes, when graves pulled the “I wasn’t in that tank” in MWII Midseasons, everyone groaned and hated it, but that was still in MW2’s life cycle. You cannot call this a “palpatine returned” if this was already explicitly shown earlier. Not saying it’s on you for not keeping up with who’s alive, but again, you also cannot feign ignorance and say that his reintroduction was unexpected
I can see the whole Graves not being dead thing because i highly doubt he was in that Tank in the second game. But yes they would of brought him back for some season.
As much as this games campaign made me very woried for the future of the modern warfare series, I honestly loved the mp... when the servers actually worked...
5:56 facts!! If this was marketed as a DLC for $20 I would’ve bought it without a doubt. It when they try to sell it as a New COD for a $70 price tag. That’s when it becomes a problem.
4:18 no. It’s a pretty justifiable return considering he would at least TRY not to die in the gas factory. Comparing this to “somehow, palpatine returned” is a CinemaSins move.
Preordered the Vault Edition. Gotta say, I honestly enjoyed my time with it. Never played WZ 1.0, so I honestly didn't care that the OCMs were made from WZ assets. I will admit, if they were gonna kill Soap, it should've been saved for MWIV. Or, hell, they could've done what I've been doing for my personal undertaking of rewriting MWIII and adding on a hypothetical MWIV as a companion: Kill Price (For example, at the chemical plant), and have him field-promote Soap to Captain before he dies of the gas. That way we have a major character death, don't squander Soap's potential, *and* deliver on the callback of Soap becoming Captain MacTavish. I probably care way too much about a doomed subseries. But honestly, I don't regret it. MWII made me hyperfixate. And that's something even MWIII can't take away from me.
I know that a lot of people don't like the campaign of this game, and that's a fair assessment given how rushed and short and slapped together it was. But I will die on the hill that the MP in this game was one of the best we've had in years. Sure, there were a lot of microtransactions, but we constantly got new AMPs, game modes, and events to keep people playing. I'd argue, November and December were better for MWIII than BO6, at least on the MP content side
I still stand by what I said when it came out: Yeah it was a disappointment but the fact that they scrambled all this on such a short development cycle…I was impressed. Activision’s greed ruined the game but if this game had the development cycle it makes me wonder how much better the game would have been…oh well.
Strongly disagree on the idea that sledgehammer just hasn’t been given the chance. Look at their track record of failure after failure. You’d think even with meddling, something or other would be a hit.
I don't mind MW3. I had a decent time playing the campaign which is honestly the only reason I ever play COD. (Don't judge me) My main gripes are that they never even address Alex faking his death and that Soap's death is not nearly as emotional compared to the original trilogy. They move on, burn him to ashes and that's that. Also, the campaign just felt short as hell in general and the ending felt extremely abrupt. The game felt more like a DLC than it did a full-on continuation or separation of the previous game. While I think that people overreacted to the game being "bad" it's honestly more so disappointing than it is outright bad or anything in that vein. I didn't feel emotionally attached to the characters like I did in the first two. I didn't absolutely hate the villain like I wanted to because he was one-dimensional. This game is the definition of mediocre. It's not bad, but it's not superb. It just coasts along in its existence trying to pass as something worth spending $70 for. Unfortunately, I bought the game on release and didn't get the chance to be saved by someone telling me not to buy.
A friend of mine got me to preorder this game to play with gim day one, fist time Inever pre ordered a game. Not only will I never pre order games agai, I'll never trust that friend to give any sound financial advice😂
I feel for all the cast. They started so strong with modern warfare 2019 and tho mw2 wasnt as good it was enough for me. this is just sad. good video though
I bought the game for the $70($40 sale +$30 upgrade)and I say it was worth. There were a lot of free events to unlocks blueprints, camo's, and the aftermarket parts. You can still unlock those things in the armory if you missed the events, the seasons aftermarket parts or free weapons. I had fun playing it I reached max level in a cod game finally and legitimately(I got max prestige in og mw2 but that was on complete accident I got put into a modded lobby in 2012 ). Only bad I really have to say it's about ranked. I play ranked mostly and omg f*** season 1-3 during season 1 there was a bug where you can use all weapons but if you put a weapon that's not supposed to be in ranked you were instant kicked. That's means you lose rank points also same with attachments attachments sometimes. Season of ranked the server was sooo terrible I got de ranked from gold 3 all the way to bronze 3 for them not connecting me to the game. The game will start but there will be no countdown to get into the game and the game will say can't connect to server and guess what you'll lose points. I never sooo mad about a game server so Honestly F'u call of duty mw3 ranked season 1-3;(matt neff voice...F'u dw guy)
Everything past the bomb in the tunnel just felt like BS to me. First, they KNOW makarov is otw, and they dont do anything about it. Then, soap gets shot, makarov buries his enemy alive, gets stabbed by soap in FULL view of his men, and then he just gets shot, no drama. MW3 (2011) soap would have killed makarov or at least kept an eye on him.
You know I had a good time playing this game, every time I see an argument about this game it’s just them solely shitting on the campaign and not much on the multiplayer, zombies was fine ya it was half fast as well but there was a lot to do and they kept feeding, bugs were patched quick and balancing issues were resolved just as fast, me and my friends had a lot of fun and we couldn’t wait for the next cod, and they still yet to disappoint (yes I know vanguard exist but it was mainly just the zombies that sucked)

Wow at 23 minutes this video is almost as long as the entire campaign
I appreciate that he atleast gives examples of ways the story could’ve been much better
While it was rushed and had its hiccups it was an interesting new interpretation of MW3 hopefully we'll see news on MW4 soon so we can put an end to Makarov.
It was weird how they’ve been expanding the story through seasonal updates.
They stopped doing it for this game. There were no story continuations over the seasons, even the weird sci-fi prequel season didn’t have anything to do with the story.
@@CancerGaming56because the campaign was so awful it may have broken the story beyond fixing
Also "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity," is Marcus' favorite saying/philosophy.
Great video brother!
Your videos on average are like, 26-31 minutes long, and that's for games that have 8+ hour campaigns
The fact you managed to get this video above 15 minutes at all is both highly respectable and impressive, and shows that you tried
This is why I love seeing you upload, no matter the game. No doubt this had to be a headache to write for lol
I was hoping you would cover MWIII to complete the list (since you covered 2019 and MWII) and I'm glad to find that you managed to cover it... even though Modern Warfare IV is around the corner soon.
anyone else hear Ghost holding back tears when he said goodbye to Soap
I definitely did....
@@Nick_T_90just like in cod mobile comics huh? i like that idea
Oof, that runtime… just as long as the campaign *slaps knee*
Y’know, the original plans for MWIII’s campaign were for it to be a smaller scale story set in Las Almas. Which could’ve been really cool if done right. Unfortunately, Activision got greedy and made them turn it into a “full” game rather than a DLC, resulting in the absolute mess we have today.
Graves returning was explained in a season: “he wasn’t in that tank.”
I was wondering why the video was so short when I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was "Everything WRONG With COD MW 3". Makes sense now.
MWIII really just needed more time, it was just short of being a great game in every aspect
you pretty much nailed it on the head. The studio has been shafted so much and this game just reflects that hard
Welcome back bro!

Gaming Wins: *Explains his point*
Me: Heh, Bad guy go _bloop_
Oh this going to be spicy
Missed you, Lord Gamingwins.
Its kind of unbelievable the absolute run cod has had lately. Cold war, Mw2, Mw3, Vanguard and now bo6 may be some of the worst the franchise has to offer
MWIII outside of the campaign is a solid COD game and MWII had DMZ, Vanguard, Cold War and BO6 however suck so badly
@@ELIZABETHMARLONE2005 im gonna disagree on cold war and bo6 solely because the zombies
Didn’t think you were gonna make this video
You know what could've been cool?
MW4 starting with the death of Shepard, then transitioning to the fight against Makarov.
Wheres the subnautica video?
I got more value and playtime out of MWIII's MP than I did the last 5 last CoD games combined. I don't play these games for the campaign or zombies and it'd unfortunate the best MP we've had in years is overshadowed by the failures of a single player mode most people don't play, or go through once and never revisit again.
Ah yes, the Blade Trinity of the Modern Warfare reboot series. This should be a good watch. 🍿
pleeeasee do stalker 2 more people need to be talking about it, its got problems but gsc deserves the world for the effort and love they put into it over 14 years
I don’t think anyone understands that MW3 multi was just a different filter to MW2 Multi and not a lot changed, so it’s like you put a chocolate cake in front of someone that is poorly made and you just add whip cream on top to cover the rest of the cruddy cake, I’ve played the multi through out 2024 and honestly it wasn’t like 2019 Multi, that was the good game with a good amount of fun and it did have a few maps and guns that were one sided but I can say I had more fun memories from that then MW3
15:38 I just finished a fallen order play through today that’s crazy
Live played COD since I was 10. 17 years later the only real “misses” were vanguard and advanced warfare. They might not be perfect but BOPS6 and MW3 are some of the best from a objective standpoint
Your “Somehow Palpatine returned” digs don’t really work at all when movie actually tells you how he returned.
Sorry, just needed to point that out. You don’t need to have your hand held for every single explanation.
I fear I may regret posting this comment but am I the only one who actually LIKES this campaign?
(I'm a more story-driven person and I liked the story it had)
Edit: In the Stadium, there was a point where Price just drives by Makarov in the ambulance and I found that absolutely HILARIOUS should've gotten a win for that tbf
You the type that focuses on the gameplay first and story second?
@@hatersgonnarate3973 Sorta? Like I said, I ain't picky with games.
You're not the only one. MWIII was good.
I really want to see you try and win anything in the Battlefield 4 campaign. It would be something like this video and very interesting to see
The only good thing about mw3 (2023) : dlc. No questions asked. Sledgehammer work the best they could with this game
As much as this games campaign made me very woried for the future of the modern warfare series, I honestly loved the mp... when the servers actually worked...
had the best post launch content out of any modern cod imo, campaign and zombies were a bit bad we'll say but multiplayer was goated honestly
I love your channel!!! This game though
5:56 facts!! If this was marketed as a DLC for $20 I would’ve bought it without a doubt. It when they try to sell it as a New COD for a $70 price tag. That’s when it becomes a problem.
Even as an expansion the leaks always said it was going to cost $70 Activision was never going to sell this game for 20$ or even 40
It's amazing you could squeeze 23 minutes out of it.
4:18 no. It’s a pretty justifiable return considering he would at least TRY not to die in the gas factory.
Comparing this to “somehow, palpatine returned” is a CinemaSins move.
The intro is literally what I was thinking and sayin to myself 💀💀
Bro did the impossble
Hey man, sometimes you gotta call a spade a spade. Also, welcome back chief.
You didnt want to make this one...did you?
I did and I didn’t. I rather enjoyed the challenge of trying with this game haha.
Glad I'm not the only guy who think Malarov looks exactly like Chat lie Kirk hahaha
I still stand by what I said when it came out:
Yeah it was a disappointment but the fact that they scrambled all this on such a short development cycle…I was impressed.
Sooooooooo out of curiosity, how many more Call Of Duty games are there left to cover?
I actually think the campaign is really good. I don’t care what anyone says. 15:17 I appreciate you giving AWs campaign its props. 22:19 Lol no its not. Infinite Warfare is
I wish they did more with yuri because its yuti he was there from the beginning in the og trilogy
I'm glad he didn't bash sledgehammer because they're never allowed to cook they are forced to make games and even then aw was good ww2 was alright if they could make games they want to make them they would be more respected imo
If the open combat missions were used more sparingly, I would be more of a fan
Babe wake up new GamingWins video!!!!!!
