Very interesting. The fertilizer education was great. Lots of math to figure out the spread rate. I didn’t know you had to figure all of that all before spreading. First time I have seen a rock picker. The seed tender seemed to work well. I have never seen a land roller before. Lots of education in this video. Hope 2023 is a good farming year.

Seed tenders need a full alternator for decent charging. The lighting coil alternator isn't nearly even enough current for recharging the battery. 4:52

Dougo, live that old rock picker. Yes I'd probably look into updating it. But I like it. Especially for the midsize rocks.
So many steps to farming...rock picking, tillage, land rolling and fertilizing hopefully in the right order...all this before planting.
Btw, very technical today...a bit much for a city boy.

Back in the day when I was a teenager my uncle had a field that had a bunch of rock and I spent three days picking and piling them up by hand then coming back with a pickup and loading them in a pickup and taking them and unloading them in a ditch for $3.25 an hour

I hope that soon you will be able to be helped by an external team and that they can film you, prepare the shots, deal with the GoPros and, above all, edit the contents... I imagine that it is "time consuming" and responsible for taking up hours of your well-deserved sleep.
Your contents are very didactic and the universities around you with communication and multimedia courses should support you with teams of students during spring and summer.

Thanks for the outdoor update dougo! Seems like our conversation dollars could be spent a little better up there in Minnesota. Sportsman contribute millions every year.
Hey Chet. One thing to consider about the dead batteries would be to try to keep the batteries clean, especially on the top. Dirt and grime on the battery can cause the battery to slowly discharge, which over the course of a day or two can drain it down enough to have a no start. That's why on many tractors and heavy truck put the batteries in enclosed boxes or at list have cover over them.

Got a LOT done here!! Seems the beginning of the season is always a mess of confusion and false starts!! BUT, you guys get it going no matter what. I like to see that. I wonder if there was a way to pick up those fish and use them as fertilizer some where?? Run em through a chipper or some like machine. Maybe feed em to the snow blower?? LOL Thanks again guys!! I really enjoyed watchin and learnin the farm way. I do enjoy seeing the problems get solved the way you all do them. Thank you..

At one time I worked for what was pioneer and one of my favorite job when I was there was ProBox repair the boxes when they comeback goes through a wash cycle and they get inspected and if you're broke and they go to pro box repair for you can cut out small sections and welding new ones with a plastic welder or replace the or the slide gates and even the wooden boards on the bottom

Oh hell Dougo I could stick with you all day long. Maybe it's the age association thing.... I use 70's and earlier equipment too.
On the hay buster, Mount a crary fan on the tongue with a short hose pointing where the rocks throw out. Run your fan with hydraulics from the tractor, we do it with ours works pretty decent.

Hey dougo fish are excellent fertilizer. You can take a fish head and put it under a new tomato plant and not one under the next and the difference is night and day and that’s just a fish head so if you had a way to dry and grind up all those fish you would have one heck of a crop lol.
With your high organic matter credit, you guys are raising corn with less than 1 lb./bushel! Awesome!
