      @RustBunny 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Despite ME's issues, it did have some better tools than 98SE and was more stable if set up properly, making it almost like Win98 Third Edition, or at least Win98 Second Edition Second Edition. 98SE2ME also exists as a more thorough way to create a hybrid version of Win98 made using some of ME's features.

      @@_lun4r_ I don't know if that's the right way to put it. Windows ME (along with Vista and Windows 8 later) certainly had issues, but wasn't a complete trainwreck and most people probably didn't have a lot of major issues. But when it did cause problems, it was really good at that too. The updated features from 9x worked well enough, but the stuff taken from 2000 to try to unify 9x and NT before they were actually ready to do so didn't help. There was little to no reason to switch to it from 98SE or choose it over Win2000 instead.

    • @windestruct
      @windestruct  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@xorxpertI'm not going to sit for a few hours manually changing every value to -1, because that would be a waste. Instead, I used this tool. I wanted the same tool to be run on every OS for best effects and a fair comparison. There really is no option to match the whole string in it. Majority of the values are either 0 or 1 as a whole, so that's going to change correctly. The parsing errors makes everything more entertaining as it further breaks Windows. I know the difference between replacing values and replacing text, but there was no option to toggle that.

    • @xorxpert
      @xorxpert 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@windestruct there was no option because that program was bad, not practical, and don’t know why anyone would use as it’s obvious prone to cause issues if not done correctly. i’m sure a tool exist that works alot better, as it wouldn’t be hard to make.

      @xorxpert 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@fitmotheyap that’s not fun at all. you’re breaking windows intentionally, similarly how you would just go in and delete system32, you might as well delete all registry files.
      if you properly replaced values, you may have more interesting results than intentionally breaking windows beyond repair.
