Actually, it is very fundamental and related to the every day practises for those dealing with these jobs.. that was exactly what i am looking for, and waiting for the part 2 or redone version... Thanks
I love when people make videos showing other people how to do stuff that they obviously don't know much about themselves. Why don't you go watch someone else's channel Mr Cartwright! You might even learn how a transformer works!
I'm a tad confused, i was assuming to watch a video that you would show how to determine the output / current of a transformer, but you admitted you were new to transformers and didn't know much, how does that help others to learn ?? You took resistance readings of secondary winding's?!, what did you determine from that?. >>Edit.... I read your comment regarding its not your tutorial. I'm only assuming that you did not understand the video you hijacked in the first place. If you don't know about electronics ,especially transformers, as on comment made by another viewer here, transformers are either step down or step up, either way, if you don't understand your self, you could get some one hurt if they don't anything at all, be careful, you say you've been 'dabbling' in electronics for a year, electronics is a very wide study, I myself have been interested in electronics since I was 8, and still learning. Sorry for the negative response , but I get peeved off with videos where no knowledge is shown, not in the slightest, and as said, it can lead to peeps getting hurt for very poor instructions, and there are members of young age starting out in this field. A nice tutorial of electronics and tear downs, look at Big Clive on here...
I highly recommend that before you try to teach transformer basics to someone else, you should learn it yourself. I don't know where to start to correct the things you said so, I won't even bother. Please take down this video, do some research and then try again. I wish you luck.
So am I to understand that you intended this to be a video of you trying to figure out the specs of this transformer? A "look what I got here... now what the heck is it?" Interesting. There are many very good technical videos out there that will teach you what you need to know. Including some elaborate math if you wish to go that far. Just be careful and don't make assumptions. Remember that a transformer can work both as step-up or a step-down depending on how you wire it. On a step-down transformer, the primary coil will have the highest resistance. You can get an idea of current capabilities by looking at the diameter of the secondary windings. Larger diameter indicates lower voltage and higher amperage. But there is much more to it. Again, don't just make assumptions. If you get odd readings when checking the resistance of the wires, it means poor test leads (bad connection) and/or poor quality meter. So don't scratch your head and wonder why this is happening. It goes on and on. The best advice I can give you is to keep studying. There are many videos out there with mistakes in them so don't just believe the first video you watch. Compare many of them. I personally watch hundreds of videos not because I need to learn the basics, but because people often have little tricks and tips and interesting ideas that I may not have thought of myself.
Thanks! Correct by the way. What I do is label the videos; TUTORIAL are "this is how to" and INVESTIGATING is "messing about with". I suppose the title is a bit misleading though. I agree with what you say too about the transformer. I made this video 6 months ago, and I've been dabbling with electronics for almost a year now. I'm an amateur.I'll need to review these sorts of videos... :-)
Hey everyone! This video is not liked and will be redone shortly. :)

Thanks
you should also point out how to identify a failed transformer for reordering it
would be nice to have some clear audio.

Hey! I'm glad you loved the video! Stay tuned for more quality releases! :-)
successfully wasted data and time.
thanks for the video.
Can you help me find find what kind of transformer I need? For a powerfust battery charger

TAKE TWO : AND STAY POSITIVE YOUNG MAN . PUT ON YOUR POSITIVE MAN VOICE . GOOD TRY HERE .
weechitamex thanks... I'll redo this video at some point!
Don't bother. You are teaching bad technique.

Roy Riederer Hi, this wasn't a tutorial my friend. Nevertheless, please elaborate and I'll review it later on. Thanks.. Antony...

Do not take any advice from this video !!!! please!!!!
Too much hesitation. Hard to follow. You could have finished this within 2-3 minutes, given the depth of the content

And what about amp?
You can tell amperage by looking at the guage of the wires. It's not very accurate though. :-)
Speech over
I wasted 10 minutes for nothing !!
Seriously dude 🤔
All fkn confised yourself
Wasted my data😡
Waste of time
Gul Wali Thanks for your feedback. :)
