I saw Heilung a couple of weeks ago here in Adelaide, South Australia. I was lucky enough to be right up the front - absolutely awesome. My ancestry is mostly Scandinavian and Germanic (although I must be the runt of the ancestral litter 🤣) and even though I can’t speak any of the languages Heilung perform, they speak to my bones - my very soul.
Thank you for this interview, I saw heilung 2 days ago for the first time, discovering them felt like remembering a deep ancient primal part of myself that I had forgotten, it is the first concert/ performance I have attended that actually had meaning and resonance for days after. Deeply grateful I was able to see them in New Zealand.
Got 3 peices of his clothing items on thweway, cant wait to wear them proudly, love this man, thanks ❤What a special soul he is, so interesting and creative. I have to add Im lucky enough to have a boyfriend of 32 cycles that looks like he could be Kai's brother. lol
Swedish örtsalt (means simply herbal salt) is really amazing. I use it more than regular salt. In the US, something really close to it is "old bay" although there are some significant differences. (I'm Swedish born and raised, but live in the US.) The flavor is very rich and savory with an herbal flavor that almost act more though your sense of smell rather than taste. Huge difference from regular salt, although a lot of mixes also contains sea salt. And of course, it's a LOT healthier. Replacing regular salt with herbal salt in baking is simply awesome. Try French baguettes. I think it's because salt is a yeast inhibitor, and replacing it with örtsalt makes it easier for the yeast to do its job, resulting in a really nice airy crumb. Highly recommended.

I could listen to Kai all day long. Thank you for this interview and the opportunity to get to learn some more about Kai. 😊👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
