Hi Jeannie, Loved this video! I appreciated the historical background information too, what a nice way to introduce your recipe. I too love everything vintage❤️Best wishes for your new channel!
In the early 60,s my mother always made this for me. I still make it once and a while and no one has ever heard of it. Its amazing they still make these wafers. Inflation has them up to 7.00 bux A box
Marion, I had a difficult time finding the chocolate wafers where I live. I could not find ANY at the local grocery stores... but I did find them at Big Lots for $5.00. This was the first time that I have made the cake, but I understand why some families, like yours, never loose this recipe!
Beautiful job! 🌟 When I first started living on my own at 19, the icebox cake was one of the first recipes I made. I experimented with different kinds of cookies that year, and learned that sugar coated cookies and tiramisu cookies remained crunchy while covered in cream or pudding.
Thank you! I am so glad that you shared the info about the sugar coated cookies not getting soft. I wonder what the chocolate graham crackers would do? I have seen that some people post those as an alternative to the chocolate wafer cookies. Hmmmmm...
Love the silent film ending! It is a super good cake and easy too! Thank you Jeannie ❤️.

Another great video. Thank you. I'm trying this one for sure.
YES! No one would believe you if you let them know it was easy to make. It is elegant and delicious!
