I remember when double glaze salesmen used to be the same, trying to pressuring you into a sale. Many years ago I had to call the police to have a sales rep removed from my house at 11. O'clock at night. He told me he wouldn't leave untill I paid the £13,000 he needed to fit the windows. A few weeks later I did the job myself for around £3,000. These sales people are just scum of the earth, and will do everything to achieve a result.

Even the big boys try it on. I was quoted a cost of "around" £3000 to £3500 to have a new replacement combi boiler supplied and installed by British Gas around 6 to 7 years ago. The boiler was a well known popular make. I went and bought the boiler myself from a local plumbing supplier for £1100, and paid a local plumber (who I had used previously) £600 to fit, test and commission it, along with slightly re-routing some of the boiler pipework and additionally fitting one of those inline magnetic filter things.

The fact that they are big is not necessarily a bad thing, since they have hundreds of professionals at your disposal in case you need the monitoring service. What people don't understand is that Verisure is a service, not a retailer. They sell the monitoring service, and the alarm kit is the means for it.

I understand your concerns however any company that does things properly does need to asses your requirements and the property to design a system that meets your neeeds this cant be accuratly done over the phone, there should be no pressure sales and when I carry out a survey I ask what they want, check the property to plan the installation and assess what I think would best meet their needs,
I leave explaining they will have a quotation by the end of the day, showing the full installation, what they will get and the full cost to them. It will also show what any future maintenance requirements the system should have and what that would cost if they choose to take it up. The quote is guaranteed for 30 days, once I confirm they have recieved the quote I do not contact again unless the come back to book an installation.
If you work responsibly as many companies do you should get a fair assessment but always get more than one quote.
For context I run an alarm company (operating since 2008) and have been in the industry since 1993

Their favourite slogan on ALL of their TV ads is 'Install NOW', which is a bit like an 'order' or a 'demand' - rather than an invitation to get a quotation. I've literally just had a home-visit quote with them 20 minutes ago. The guy seemed nice but as somebody who used to work in commission based sales myself (as he said he did when we were talking), I knew to look for certain tactics.
He seemed alright in general but definitely gatekeeped the price until the final minute, put every effort in to trying to engage me and get me trusting him, then did the 50% price trick that we saw in this video. There was also the 'call to action' trick that we saw here where he told me to act today because the 'discounts' apparently aren't available all the time.
The scare-mongering stories of neighbours getting tied up in their homes etc was also something he did, although it was less full on than it was by the rep in this video.

Provided you do not watch ANY live broadcasts or operating BBC Iplayer then you do not need a licence. And for the case in hand here, if someone quotes you £1300 for (any) job but then you haggle it down to half then ask yourself how the heck can they suddenly 'lose' half the original quote. Yet another of these companies that surface from time to time and bring the industry into direpute the Last one SAS Security played much the same game and ripped its customers off on frightening them into spending fortunes.

Not veri sure - first they forged my signature, very unsuccessfully, and that was just the beginning.
Same here, I bought two systems for my home and business paying a total of over £1000 which turned out to be after two years of contract and the total amount I paid was just for the installation of two cameras, sensors on 6 windows and two smoke and configuration devices which took a maximum of two hours each at the home and the business. How is it possible that this company still exists!!!

They should be investigated and fined over their terrible, unimaginative and cheesy TV adverts, they're unbelievable too 😂😂
So funny that he describes this month's special offer 03:42 "as half-price, so that's 50% off" 🤔😂 just in case his customer couldn't work it out..🤣🤣

Every Verisure TV Advert I've ever seen makes me howl.
They are so silly & amateurish.
We have Women gossiping about a break in & stupid men being pushed into installing a Verisure Alarm.
That might happen in Verisure's version of The World, but it doesn't happen in mine.
    😂

Except it doesnt have a bell box on the system - just a shiny badge outside!!! From our experience when ripping them out for a proper system they normally stop the app from working if you cancel.

Your neighbour is NOT permitted to record your property without your expressed permission. Their CCTV is fixed, not roaming like google street view or private auditor, and should not see beyond their own boundaries. And there could also be an issue with any sound recording. Take the previous advice and contact the information commissioner's office. Verisure should know the regulations when fitting this equipment, it's Verisure though so perhaps it doesn't work anyway. Who knows.
