I had a quote meeting with verisure last week. He stayed for 2.5hrs and used the same pressure selling techniques and did not leave t's & C's with me or explain the equipment was rented. I was going to go with them until I saw this.

Except it doesnt have a bell box on the system - just a shiny badge outside!!! From our experience when ripping them out for a proper system they normally stop the app from working if you cancel.

How can I get in touch with watchdog or anyone that is on this case? They have used the same tactic with me and I have been scammed massively. Was promised 300 pounds of amazon vouchers if I took the deal. I have all recordings of the conversations I had with them. Verisure support has been terrible, they let the time run by until I went past my trial period so I could not longer cancel. It’s a total nightmare and so stressful. They used the same tactics of the video I cannot believe how they can still be allowed this.

We’ve had Verisure for 3 years almost and had installed all the devices that the installer had recommended. We had queried whether one ‘shock sensor’ was enough for a 3 paned window (and was told yes) and we also asked whether a motion sensor was needed upstairs- but was told it wasn’t because all the accessible windows had ‘shock sensors’. Fast forward 3 years and we got broken in to before Christmas. The burglars broke in from the bedroom window on the first floor and exited via the same window. The alarm was set at the time and the ‘shock sensor’ didn’t trigger the alarm to go off. Verisure are not taking any responsibility for the fact that the alarm did not sound, when it was supposed to. There is a point in the contract that states, something to the effect of, ‘the consumer takes responsibility for all items chosen in order to protect their home’. Post burglary, the technician found that the ‘shock sensor’ is not absorbing any shock due to the very sturdy window frame. A complaint was raised and they only offered to add in 2 extra ‘shock sensors’ and a motion sensor which would be free for one year only. This was the final resolution and now that I have rejected it, they are refusing to talk to me. When I call Verisure customer services to try and get through to the Real Incident Team or the Resolution team, I get put on hold and get hold they cannot take my call as my account has been ‘DEADLOCKED’ and so no one will discuss my case further and that’s case closed. This is crazy as at the time, we were still WITH Verisure!! ABSOLUTE SCAM OF A COMPANY

I've literally just had a home-visit quote with them 20 minutes ago. The guy seemed nice but as somebody who used to work in commission based sales myself (as he said he did when we were talking), I knew to look for certain tactics. He seemed alright in general but definitely gatekeeped the price until the final minute, put every effort in to trying to engage me and get me trusting him, then did the 50% price trick that we saw in this video. There was also the 'call to action' trick that we saw here where he told me to act today because the 'discounts' apparently aren't available all the time. The scare-mongering stories of neighbours getting tied up in their homes etc was also something he did, although it was less full on than it was by the rep in this video.

Thanks for this. Just saved me from getting scammed. The sales rep came and they made me a "limited time offer", which would otherwise cost 1000+ for 200 €. But a few things did not sit right with me. 1st - the monthly subscription of 45 €/month!! Secondly, they hadn´t informed me that the equipment I am getting is not mine to keep should I cancel the subscription. After watching this, I called the agent and asked him this specifically to which he replied "I think it is yours". When I inquired further saying "do you think or do you know?", he said, "well, if you decide to do self-monitoring at some point, we will charge 100 € and replace the system with a self-monitoring system (in other words, I purposely withheld this information from you during the pitch I made and made it seemed like you own all of this but now that you have figured this out, this stuff is not yours and we will give you some basic stuff after taking all this away from you because we want to punish you for cancelling your subscription lol!)

Not veri sure - first they forged my signature, very unsuccessfully, and that was just the beginning. Same here, I bought two systems for my home and business paying a total of over £1000 which turned out to be after two years of contract and the total amount I paid was just for the installation of two cameras, sensors on 6 windows and two smoke and configuration devices which took a maximum of two hours each at the home and the business. How is it possible that this company still exists!!!

I was told there was a voucher left for a discounted system, free shock pads etc and a much lower price than what it actually was! The "Free " shock pads were in fact £3 each per month and the entire system would cost two times more than they initially stated, which per year would cost several hundreds of pounds more than if I actually had a break in at my shop !

So I went ahead, £400 to buy and fit the equipment. £33 a month after equals to a pint and a half of beer a week. All shows up on my phone. Touch wood all ok at the moment and I've peace of mind.

The disgusting amount was the £45 a month monitoring costs or £540 a year that is just far too much for what is on offer. for what the cost is going to be just to fit the sensors etc I bet you can buy a very easy to fit and good quality system yourself. The price just does not see value for money at all. It would be better to say we fit the system free and you pay the £45 a month but to have to pay upfront and then pay a very high monthly that is a pure RIP off.

Their current alarm advert (10.9.23) BLATANTLY LIES; suggesting a Verisure employee will attend your home after a possible break in (golf ball hitting the patio window) and wait there until the issue is resolved!!!. This is deliberately misleading to potential customers. How does this get past the advertising standards people?

I almost fell for the Verisure deal. Though I found they're not the only dodgy people in that industry by a very long shot. Happily, the son of a friend had worked briefly - not for them but for a similar firm. He'd left, partly on moral principle and partly because he didn't want to end up in legal trouble when - he was convinced - they ended up being prosecuted. In most cases, the deal isn't to sell people security equipment. It's to talk them - too often the elderly and most vulnerable - into long term direct debits. Aka permanent debt, with penalties if you decide to pull out. And that applies to a lot of the commonly advertised security kit - especially cameras. Their product isn't that neat doorbell camera - it's the permanent subscription to an online service. A service which, if you're elderly and rarely leave your home, you simply don't need. He not only warned me of the risks in dealing with this entire business sector, he knew enough to inform me on what I really did need - from mainstream retailers - to secure my home. As with any goods or services - if they're widely advertised in the media - ask yourself who's ultimately paying tor those adverts. Now - someone - please do an investigation into the wholesale scam of equipment for the disabled?
