I am relatively new to this game, but so far, it seems that as WG is introducing new ships for the game, they are giving some extra unannounced buffs to them as well. Every time I have had some new ship in the game, it seems at the beginning, "Ooh, this is good..." and then when it comes to the normal progress line, it suddenly doesn't feel any more special. I think that's one way to get people to put money into it, and then when there are enough of these ships in the game, balancing it back to normal. I did try to ask them straight up, and the answer was not denying it but rather saying they don't reveal the shooting mechanics behind the game. As they have these attributes in game anyway this is pretty simple to manage.
That's not that big of an issue because Wisconsin doesn't overmatch much at tier 10, if at all. Slava's accuracy is disgusting, but no one ever talks about it much anymore because once you angle to one, it can't do anything to you. What makes Wisconsin feel better with its accurate volleys than a Slava is the improved pen and shell velocity at range, which is better than Montana's, for some reason. Literally the only thing stopping Wisconsin from being completely idiot-proof is it being an Iowa-class.

This ship have very high skill requirement man. In a good player it's fucking terrifying, in a potato it's just a Iowa up tier, I guess they did test it and consider the whole player base is full of potato they just like eih what can they do with this kind of dispersion?
The devs don't play their game, so when they tried Wisconsin they probably missed most shots - and decided it needed a funny button to stay competitive.
Idk if this is a stupid question but which ship is better Zao or Yodo? i have Zao and really liked it even though it feels like a weak ship. I now want to play something with a faster reload and higher dpm and rn I’m between Jinan and Yodo.
Honestly, I'd recommend you to just stick with Zao. Yodo's firepower output, especially with that barrel volume, may appear phenomenal at first glance. On paper, eighteen 150mm guns fed with the vaunted Japanese cruiser HE (deals greater individual damage than other nations' HE shells) should give you a damage per minute capacity reminiscent of T8's Mogami equipped with 155s, but adapted for same-tier matchups, of course. You would expect to be the fire-spamming nightmare of battleships (or any type of ship you face in artillery combat, for that matter). But you're not. Yodo's 150mm guns struggle to penetrate the extremity, deck and/or upper belt platings of your main sources of racking damage from (battleships), even with the help of IFHE. Neither do they have the relatively rapid reload of Mogami's 155s (the rate of fire on Yodo's 150s are absolutely terrible for their caliber class) to enable you to produce a continuous barrage for consistent damage on targets within range, nor the destroyer-level tightness in shell dispersion that her heavy cruiser cousins possess (from mid to max range, about half of the total shells you fire in a volley everytime simply drop everywhere but the intended target). The rotation speed on her guns is nothing short of superb, though. Her ability to keep her turrets pointed towards her target at all times, even whilst performing aggressively sharp turns is a key part of her flexbility as a long-range kiting cruiser. If only her hull wasn't like 20% larger than Zao's, she would've been a pretty annoying ship to try and hit at long distances as well - Yodo's basically a heavy cruiser-sized ship, but without the survivability (armor) and heavy-hitting gunpower (penetration) to show for it. So do yourself a favor and not waste your time grinding what is possibly one of the most mediocre cruiser lines released in recent times, unless you really have to for some reason.
The Jinan line is not as bad as the Yodo one, but it's also not that great. On one hand, you got amazing deepwater torpedoes which allow you to exact near-unavoidable and extremely devastating punishments against unwary cruisers and battleships (provided you aimed your torp salvoes well), you have smoke cover, as well as rapid-firing light-caliber guns for chipping away at nearby enemies and causing fires. You're also very nimble and is a small target to shoot at. On the other, you have virtually nonexistent armor, coupled with a very small health pool. Any battleship or cruiser you face with gun calibers larger than Scharnhorst's 283mm (which practically doesn't exist at Jinan's tier, except for the two that use actual cruiser guns, Illinois and New Hampshire) would easily slice through your 16mm fore and aft plates to deal citadel damage that could potentially slash your full health pool in half.
Iowa's hull is trash in the year of our lord 2024, so it's not entirely false. That hull is the only thing keeping the ship from becoming completely idiot-proof
