Spore - Great Red Dragon - Most Detailed Creation Yet

- So, I was recently inspired by some creations on DeviantArt, and I set myself a challenge... to create something so complex that it would cause my Spore to crash. Well, Spore never crashed in the end (until I tried to save it, but I expected that) but I did make what is possibly the most detailed creation so far (that's not a megabuild).
This is possible with the Dark Injections mod, but I simply do not suggest doing it, because you will lose your creation. There's different states of "freedoms" that I refer to within Spore. There's Vanilla, Soft-Cap, and True Freedom. Vanilla is with the freedom cheat, no mods, just save and can't share. Soft-Cap is with a freedom hack and what I limit myself to in all of my creations - it's the point where the creature stops animating. When it stops animating, you can continue to add more parts on (True Freedom) but the creature will not animate, can not be textured, and as you add more parts, can not be saved.
I always stop at the Soft-Cap, so I can finish my creature with textures and show it off. This time, I went far and beyond. And it was pretty damn fun!

Well, No Man's Sky is exactly like Spore, without the creature creation tool and the first 4 phases of the game. The fifth phase, is exactly as bad as Spore.
***** I think No Man's Sky did an awful work at becoming Spore. It's just sad that we don't create anything at all in No Man's Sky.

I know you said this didn't save, but just imagine being some poor random player, never lost a fight in here, and seeing this giant DRAGON walking up to you and taking a big bite. Now imagine that person discovering a whole NEST of them. Absolute nightmare XD amazing, btw. Love this.

No actually Maxis made the game but EA published it and made so you can buy it. They didn't fuck up anything except the chance for a sequel.
The cute vs science design decisions killed the game from start. Was so much promising but failed.

It could've been a different game if EA left Maxis do their thing, but the game "needed to be" more suitable for younger audiences. Don't think EA just lets developers do their thing, they monitor their Devs and when they don't like something they tell them to change it.

with what people can do with this game now, spore really needs a remake.
Especially with the constant attention Spore gets, considering its hype ended 8 years ago. I still have a bit of hope in a remake or sequel.

And this is why we need Spore 2. With upgraded capabilities and a better design engine. Spore being a simple game is understandable and I just recently reinstalled the game...great job on the dragon...I know I cannot do anything near this but it makes me wanna hit the creation engine again.

Comments Are True well technically it has to since its way too complex. but in the more realistic aspect, it would definitely hurt itself by moving too much
Surprisingly it looks very agile without larger obstructions, and wings seem to fold perfectly on the rear end.
Only exception would be the horns, as it couldn't comfortable be able to look upwards, maybe flip the horns so they face and curve up and inwards like a crown and it's a solid design,.
This looks majestic as fuck. If it would be implemented into the game i would just follow it around and watch it for hours.

Alexis McCarthy there is currently no real proof Dragons exist(ed), so there cannot be proof they weren't mammals (nor if they were, though.)

I made a dragon. And I used a force save mod to actually save it.
I use force save, too. But not even force save can save a creation with hundreds more parts than Spore was intended to use. The game simply was not built to handle it :)

Spore is one of my favorite games to play just because of this, the infinity of posibilities that you have. So I know just HOW HARD is to even make something simple because at the beggining you have NO idea of what to make. Honestly, the makers of Spore should redesign just the creation aspects a little, and turn it into 3D design software. It's user-friendly and already understands how to connect bones for animation, it would be a godsend for rookies 3D game makers.
Pentharis Honestly, even if they just donated the source code used for their game, the general mechanics for their game could be fashionable tools in creative hands that knew what to do. They'd just need to create a program capable of translating that code to allow full reign of the creator's tool and grant unrestricted creations in its own specific source, which could then be translated to other programs in creating new 3-D games (such as the Unreal engine or the Unity engine. I'm no professional, but those programs have been used in the past before)
It's in a similar boat with Flipnote Hatena, 2D animation, and Nintendo. It's too bad...

The coolest thing I ever made in Spore was this basic yellow body, and I named it Triumph. I was a stupid, stupid child.

the game was fun nonetheless, except for the space part, that was kind of boring. But i agree with yo that the creation was a bit limitfull, if it had some body parts which didn't gave you stats(for aesthetics purposes only) this kind of creature could be built and the game would be much more beautiful to play.

could you even imagen an mmo with this much creativity for you character or even a fighting game or team shooters, that would be crazy. overwatch featuring you own creations. but on the other hand how would anyone make it balanced?
i challange someone to make any of the above suggestid games and make them balanced
lol 8 hours of making you character then your redy to go into the world of darksouls or destiny or what ever. do you see how awesome the would be
It's simple enough. You would be given the option for your own attack animation. Based off the size and the mass of the creature it would effect the stats of the creature. That is for balancing purposes. there would be different weights for diffrent things. There would be no leveling. It would be your stats, then like runescape as your progress different skills level up. So there is levels but not like a normal sense.
Another idea you could do the same thing but instead of having combat do it like a trade and grind game. With RP moments and a world that he players create with its own economy. It wouldn't matter what you looked like. You could expand on the creation system in this game to allow players to create their own ships and travel to planets and morph the terrain to their liking. Thus allowing them to further the creation in the game. So the game would let players strive to create things and it would be a game of art. You create your character and then create other things. Whether it be weapons, creatures, etc. You can sell to NPCs or players. These things are all items/creatures you can see once brought in. 2 options for creations. Living and objects. Eventually wealthy enough to create a ship to travel. Then create a terraforming machine, then creating a planet. That more players can travel to.

There are games that do explore this concept like From The Depths for instance.
It's interesting because patterns of effectiveness emerge and some kind of metagame ends up being established, creating some crude kind of balancing by itself.

I wouldn't think they would consider it dead. Just completed. However today's common computers definitely have a lot more power then when this game was originally released, and the engine still has a lot of potential for expansion to take advantage of that power.

nah, that doesn't give enough freedom. You can't do much with a bunch of blocks unless you're going to make a mega build. This game, you can make a detailed build using lots of "blocks" and still make it small and compact.
Well, if you want creational freedom, then PLAY MINECRAFT.
Just look at some of the better Minecraft TH-camrs.

Samuel Xu You have a point, but last time I played, Spore was incredibly limited in what you can do. You can create cool looking stuff, but the development of the game is very linear.
