Had this exact same bike as my first official "dirt bike" but it was electric green, I was 14 or 15 and bought it left over in 1980 from Scott's Kawasaki in Barnsville, NB Canada and paid $765 with my mom chipping in half. I put a plastic front fender on and knobbies front and back, took the indicator lights off it and drove the snot out of it!! Later bought a '78 Suzuki RM100. What a time we had with those! Anyway thanks for the memories!! Subbed!
This was the exact first bike I ever worked on as a kid!! My dad gave it to me when I was about 11, but I couldn't get it running because I couldn't afford a new stator plate. Glad to see you were more successful than me!!
Thanks for saving these small engine bikes. I like that you got it running and "operating" and now passing it on to someone to finish and hopefully driving it.
I see you have the Super Troopers mustache going. Well played. I think that gas in the bottom of the tank probably saved it. A mess to clean out, but no rust holes!
The single best carb cleaner I've ever run into is the Honda official Combustion Chamber Cleaner. It's expensive but it will dissolve that shit like you wouldn't believe.
I had the trail boss 100 ! Ten speed, 5 trail and 5 street. I remember that sound .Knock a hold in the side cover and let that carburetor get some air ! hehe
The blue jeans and lack of chain guards had me worried. Glad you got it going. After Sealing the gas tank and finding a chain guard, it should make for hours of fun.
Did well for $100.00 bike also needed some Tender Loving Care John didn't noticed if brake light work and brakes too ! Also surprised Kick Start didn't kick back and didn't good thing!
Great Job, I'm covered up projects right now but I would like to get a hold of an old two stroke and turn it into an ultra light cafe racer. Don't see many around that are street legal. I would want at least a 250, preferably larger. I don't know the guy, but a man around here has several classic two stroke bikes, mostly Suzukis, good shape too. Wish he would stop and talk to me sometime.
Great vid --- I enjoyed the dog running along on your test drive, sometimes leading the way ---- It looked to be having more fun than running with the snowmobile test drive
Hey John if you get a can of B-12 Chemtool Spray it would emulsify that gunk and funk if you let it sit works really good 👍 don't get it on painted surfaces that you care about.
More I see you and other channels get one of these old 70s 2 stroke bikes going, more I want to get another one to restore, sold my last one off 16 years ago.
We had one something like this but a 125 rotary valve engine. It stop running at one time and it sat for a while till we fifured out the exhaust got plugged by some critters. Its how i learned to ride on this bike.
Also got a -76 but here it called Sports 100 (G7 then ) Other airfilter unit-Exaust- Taillight -Saddle and stripes -sidecovers and as far l can se tank .
Ahh Yes, almost as fast as an aging retriever, lol. Those rotary valves were fun to play with. Rebuilt a '68 350 A7SS long ago, pretty bike & crazy fast. Sure wish I still had it... Thanx !
Good morning I knew you would be able to get it running. I always enjoy videos like this buying something getting it running then selling it is smart and a good way to get the money you paid out of it and make a profit at the same time
Take the right hand side panel off,it's where the 2 stroke oil tank is. Also the exhaust/muffler clamp is missing at the front Had loads of the KH/KHX,KHE range. The KHx was probably the KMX and the KHE was the KME
it`s nice to see an old rig back on the road! small word of advice here: that fuel line looks like a firehazard that close to the cooling fins... overseas we call those fuelfilters "see through zippos" because of their bad tendency to melt on valve covers =/ just saying^^
Try Yamalube Combustion Chamber cleaner for your 2 stroke carbs. It will clean your jets and bowl like brand new. Been using it for over 20 years and it works as well as ultrasonic. It comes in a spray can. Most Yamaha dealers will have it and I've seen it online.
Cheech and Chong? "John's not here, man!" (he's out escaping the Terminator on his new (to him) motorcycle!) Sweet old bike, it'll make a great restoration project for somebody! Projects that start with a running engine are great.
Shoot, for $100 you cain't beat that with a stick! Assumin' it's a two-smoke? That old gas is great for startin' fires - it's lost it's oomph, so you get to keep your hair, and The Man don't get on ya for dumpin' it!
Badass little bike!!!The 1970 suzuki 125 i just revived, made me fall in love with these old bike all over again.

I love the laugh when something starts for the first time in forever
Huge W to the dog for keeping up with you the entire test drive lmao. Great video John!
W to see you going uncle with your LUMBAGO

Thats awesome 😎 they are definitely a neat machine
Nice one John! Good to see you managed to get her up and running again
Thanks for saving these small engine bikes. I like that you got it running and "operating" and now passing it on to someone to finish and hopefully driving it.
Don't see these Old Motorcycles Very often nowadays nice little find John
I see you have the Super Troopers mustache going. Well played.

My 1976 KE 100 was my first bike. Got it when I was 15. Loved it. It was a 2 stroke. Engine and bike looks the same.
Oh my, birkenstocks AND jean shorts! That's a majestic sight.
The single best carb cleaner I've ever run into is the Honda official Combustion Chamber Cleaner. It's expensive but it will dissolve that shit like you wouldn't believe.
I owned that exact motorcycle when I was 12-14. That was in 1998. I probably put 8,000 miles on it. This brought back a lot of my best memories.
Cool revival John, nice to see these old machines brought back to life 👍👍🤘🔥
I had the trail boss 100 ! Ten speed, 5 trail and 5 street. I remember that sound .Knock a hold in the side cover and let that carburetor get some air ! hehe
I've used lacquer thinner in the past for sludgy carbs and components. Works pretty good. Give it a shot!
I like the mouse's nest getting evicted thru the exhaust pipe lol!
They were given a 30 day notice don’t worry
I guess you could call it a golden rust slushie this time 😂 fantastic video as always sir
I wish I had time to watch all of you guys that I hear about on junkyard digs. You all have such great content!
The blue jeans and lack of chain guards had me worried. Glad you got it going. After Sealing the gas tank and finding a chain guard, it should make for hours of fun.

Very cool vintage bike. Two strokes are fun
I collect all of my old gas in a large bucket, then use it to start massive bonfires
I usually dump it on my neighbors property it keeps him grass under control
@@josephmiele3745 well that's a lawsuit waiting to happen
@@homebuilthorsepower3207 The whole town should Sue him for the shape of his property. I'm doing him a favor. L o l
Same

Old girl runs and idles pretty dang good 😮

I love these old models i remember my grand brother 175 semi trail bike :) nice bike to restored!
My first bike with a clutch was the ke100, it’s the enduro version of your bike . Great video ! Brought me Back
More I see you and other channels get one of these old 70s 2 stroke bikes going, more I want to get another one to restore, sold my last one off 16 years ago.
Always love seeing new videos from you and you do such a good job of putting these together, keep at it man, you'll be big one day!
I was 10 years old when that baby was built! Damn, I'm old, kid!!
Very informative. What a nice little bike!
I wouldn’t even restore the finish on that, I’d sort the mechanicals and let her keep her patina, brilliant little thing

😂😂😂
13:50 That's what's known as the "Push Me Pull You" Exhaust system. LOL. That filter is going going gone very quickly too.
Berryman carb cleaner comes in gallon can with a basket in it works great to set over night
The handlebars make it look like a sad beagle
Those were sweet little bikes. I learned on the Enduro version kz100
Good morning I knew you would be able to get it running. I always enjoy videos like this buying something getting it running then selling it is smart and a good way to get the money you paid out of it and make a profit at the same time
I’ve had some great luck soaking carbs in cheap vinegar overnight and rinsing them off with brake cleaner to clean them. Seems to do the trick well
Take the right hand side panel off,it's where the 2 stroke oil tank is. Also the exhaust/muffler clamp is missing at the front Had loads of the KH/KHX,KHE range. The KHx was probably the KMX and the KHE was the KME
Brought back memories !!!! Used to work on those when I was a young man !! Keep up the cool videos !!
it`s nice to see an old rig back on the road!
small word of advice here: that fuel line looks like a firehazard that close to the cooling fins...

Hey thanks for the advice would hate to catch on fire 😂
Good 🐕! Offering help and support!

I have strapped the gas tank to my lawnmower wheel lifted off the ground and let turn all Day did a good job
I had a ke 100 a long time ago and it was a lot of fun. Seeing this makes me want one again
Great way to take your Dog for a walk/run.
Mark this bike as a WIN!
Love the way those old Suzuki engines sound. Very cool bike.
Kawasaki, I'm working on a Suzuki DR.
I had one like that and they are tough we all beat on it and it kept running .
Really need a "low-fi beats to clean your carburetor to" playlist now
That Motorcycle has a sweet sound.
Cheech and Chong? "John's not here, man!" (he's out escaping the Terminator on his new (to him) motorcycle!)
Sweet old bike, it'll make a great restoration project for somebody! Projects that start with a running engine are great.
Cheers my guy. Met ya @ the Davenport swap meet this morning. Keep workin!!
Fantastic video great thanks for sharing
Great video. Cool bike. It looks to be the same engine as a ke100.
The dad fit is fire 🔥
Thanks man it really is a vibe
Another sweet vid man and a sweet bike, liking the chillin lofi music throughout
Yall make resurrecting old engines look so easy
Time to invest in an ultrasonic cleaner lol
Might want to seal up that multi-directional exhaust outlet ✌
Love it! Old bikes are so much fun to revive.
But hey it's running... like good lol had me laughing. Great vid.
My Grey kitten enjoys your video 🐈 😻
Between you and Kevin I a really want one of these old tanks.
Looks like it would be a great first bike for a kid who wanted to tinker but still have fun.
Lmfao "the bike didn't want to shift properly and was smoking more then cheech and Chong" 😂😂
Thanks old times for me. I owned a 75 G5 100. Nice video.
Or 1974 it's been a while.
I’ve been rebuilding carbs for years. Never had luck saving a gasket. Ever.
That was pretty cool. Kind of curious how to fix the transmission thing
I have basically the same bike!!! Mine is a 72 g100. It ran pretty good but has her issues
good vid bud, very cool, going be doing more work this summer on my 51 gmc fire engine on my channel :D so excited for it
I wanna see the clutch get fixed. 😀
With the handle bars down it looks like a dog that got in trouble for pissing on the carpets.
get a cheap harbour freight ultrasonic cleaner. they work great on little stuff like that.
Good job John good to see you 👍
Love the shoes....
I remember when you could buy this bike new for under $1000.00 good job
Keep up the amazing content👍👍
That’s thing is awsome
Love the narrating
Another home run bro, loving your work.
Such relatable content, john. I love it ❤
Evaporust is an awesome rust remover…possible tank rust remover? Just an idea.
Check the side seal. Make sure its not suckin air around the seal.
Crank seal
You always post great shit!! I'd love to see more of, it. 💪🏻
W for starting it again after so long
Dude, buy yourself an ultrasonic cleaner! You will not regret it!
Greta Approved on that gas ⛽ tank Lol 😆😁😆😆
I wish I had that thing!!!!!
Would pipe cleaners help with the carburetor situation? Those little tubes .
Your pipe cleaner would have to be pretty small
A cop in birkenstocks...whodathunkt?!
I rode a lot in the days was a great dirt bke
Im a car guy, but i would love to own a simple old bike like this to zip around on.
That stache definitely makes you look like a cop lol
Well as soon as we heard the old gas slushie we knew there wasn't any holes...
Shoot, for $100 you cain't beat that with a stick! Assumin' it's a two-smoke?
That old gas is great for startin' fires - it's lost it's oomph, so you get to keep your hair, and The Man don't get on ya for dumpin' it!
