    you did this the hardest way possible lol. all you had to do was remove the lower brackets/ seats and remove the stop blocks limiting the travel and you could have just dropped that bed all the way to the floor. you did not need to attach the bed to the brackets for the seats.

      Captain is correct. You did a lot of extra work. But you still got what you needed in the end. I’ve been contemplating removing my couches and building a bed frame so I can have two bunk beds. I’ve spent hours and hours in the camper measuring and remeasuring. My issue is that when we pull the golf cart in will a second permanent bunk hit the roof of the golf cart. It’s going to be super close. With the couches folded down I have enough room. Wish me luck...

    That's actually pretty smart, y'all. You still have a bed, but, yeah, you ditch the weight and uselessness of those uncomfortable benches. The only way that's bad is if you need BOTH platforms for beds. But for guests, you're likely to have just two guests, not four.

      Also, using the bench brackets as the base for the bed, that's a lot more stable than those four tiny corner brackets.

    What sliding glass doors do you have for the garage?

    Do you have a video on the curtains you did on the back?

    • @TheCampoholics
      @TheCampoholics  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, they are on a heavy duty tension rod and they are thermal curtains. All from Amazon of course. amzn.to/44fypzg

    Just for the record there is a much better way to do this. Leave the bed where is is, same brackets, and just move the stops

      From what I gather the problem with that idea is that the brackets for holding the sofas are the lifting Force for the top bed. Yes you could lower the stopping brackets for the top bed but you would still have to have the entire mechanism for the sofas installed. They lift and lower the top bunk. So you would end up with pointless brackets raising the top bunk and lowering it. The top bunk itself does not attach to the chain

      We just removed the stops completely. I don’t think the bottom arms lift the top bed/bunk because ours only came with a small twin sized bunk on one side of the happijac system anyway. It’s not like the other side had empty arms just hanging there.

    Are you not able to just move the stops?

    • @TheCampoholics
      @TheCampoholics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, in my observation, or guess... The stops would not go all the way down as much as the lower bench rails.

      Regarding the stops for the top bed. There is a silver oval bracket with two screws inside each vertical rail. Remove the two screws and oval piece, then the original mounted bed will travel down.

      I think the trouble will lie in that you can’t run the upper brackets without the lower brackets, so changing the bed to the lower brackets I think would be required.
