Hi, some wires will be remaining but very few. I am building a motorcycle computer so most cables will be replaced with a data signal cable. I made a sesparate video about the project, and I am soon ready with a follow up video where I show the result: th-cam.com/video/3W9Y04q-X2k/w-d-xo.html
Yes, correct. Honda CB400N superdream - 1984. Unfortunately I do not know the ratio for the gauges, not for the original one or for new one I have bought. I am hoping it not will be to far off, or that it is possible to adjust it. The speedometer I have bought have a button on the back, but it came without any instructions so I just have to play around and see if it can be adjusted if the measured speed is not correct.
This one does not show engine rpm, it is a speedometer only. For this bike I think it is OK without, just have to listen to the engine to know when to shift gear 😊
@@borcemitev2903 oooh, you are right 😁 i bought it quite a while ago, and it did not include any wiring diagram so I am not really sure what is possible. I have found a couple of different wiring diagrams online - they differ a bit so I have to try different options. I hope it is possible to connect one of the wires to one of the coils but I am not really sure how it works yet. Not long now before I will start the wiring.
@@kihestad Hi there, did you test that odometer yet? I have same one on my new bike an have a problem with it...show me the wrong amount of kilometeres and km/h :/ I am interested if is some kind of setting...thank you :)
@@fanikka1 Hi, I have not tried it yet. It came without a user manual as well, so I am afraid I might end up with the same problem as you. The only document I have found online is a simple wiring diagram.
It's an universal speedometer found on eBay. Just search for: 'Retro Motorcycle Digital Speedometer' or something similar. Here is one listing: www.ebay.com/itm/185483238605?_ul=NO
You are correct. It is a cable, not a wire 🙂
Glad we got that sorted 😋
wow
Hello! Awesome build, what is the triple tree on this bike?
Hi and thanks 😊 It's the original one. I try to keep the cost down, and reuse most of the original parts of the bike.
Where did you put all of the wiring that was in the headlight?

This is CB400N right? Do you happen to know which ratio the original gauges are? Cheers from Finland!

What size tires did you fit on the comstars?
Front: 110/80 - Rear: 120/80. These are Michelin Anakee Wild.
@@kihestad Thnx!
What triple tree is that?!
It's the original one 🙂
