      I'm thinking with nice weather coming to the New Orleans area this weekend, I need to get my 503CM out and exercise it a bit...get me some good 6x6 shots. I've been playing with B&W so much lately, I"m going to bring a healthy of supply of good color film on this trip but will still do both color and B&W backs...love having choices!!
      Maybe a bit of cine film through it?

    Hey, another fellow 907x owner here
    I do find myself using it quite similarly, although with a bit more range of XCD lenses.
    The newer 38V for instance definitly has been one of my favorite as of late, the AF clutch was sorely needed on the 907X.
    A bit of an anecdote, maybe its just SD card brands but mine definitly is ready to shoot from power on faste using top speed sandisk extreme prosr. Though the X2D much improves there, 907X2 when Hasselblad?
    While I do use mine on my 503cx some, in those cases more akin to the old Polaroid back to make sure my shot is nailed as much as I can tell at least on MF crop before switching over and taking it for real with film.
    I digress, it's a lovely niche camera to go around and shoot with. Certainly not for most, but for those it is there isn't much quite like it.

    • @SamMcGhee
      @SamMcGhee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great anecdote for sure. Love it. I am using high end cards, but maybe it’s time to toss them and swap with new media.

    • @solagraphy
      @solagraphy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SamMcGhee Picking mine up and doing a sanity check, with 2x128GB 300MBps Sandisk Extreme PROs my non-50th edition 907x it recognizes the sd cards and lets me shoot easily under half a second after the screen is at the main menu. Not the moment that screen pops up, but a hair after. Cards are formatted by the camera, camera on latest firmware, and switching to a set of 200MBps 512GB sandisk Extreme Pros its similar there too.
      Assuming the special edition 907x doesnt have something strange going on in the firmware it definitely should be recognizing them faster. Not quite sure what would be the cause there or if resolving it is even worth your time if it required new media though. Enough of me rambling about sd cards though, great vid!

    • @simonwesterlund1
      @simonwesterlund1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@solagraphy @Sam McGhee My 907x is from this January (however I doubt that they revisioned it) and I have zero delay with memory cards, as soon as the main screen turns on I can shoot. FWIW I use 300MB/s Extreme Pro SanDIsk cards.

    They address some of the issues with the new version, it has face AF and boots far faster. It's not using SD cards any longer but one cfexpress type B and 1TB internal storage. Your pictures are amazing, in particular the film based one.

    • @SamMcGhee
      @SamMcGhee  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The new one definitely fixed most of these issues. Face Detection is not the best in my experience. It hunts around too much and lands just behind or in front of the eyes. I prefer a simple single AF point that can move around with the handle’s joystick.
      Thanks for the intentionality!

      It’s a Lightroom preset. It sounds cooler to say “Film Emulation” 😂 I’m using the origial VSCO Lightroom presets from before they discontinued them! They’re spot on. I don’t understand why they cut them.

    "waist level finder" it is not a waist level finder, it is just a screen ! But I do wish that DJI/"Hasselblad" had made it possible to mount a waist level finder on the back screen, then it could feel like a "real" camera.

  • @andyvan5692
    @andyvan5692 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, good thinking, as the CFV sensor will pick up any lens imperfection, so the modern glass (designed around this sensor resolution) is the ONLY thing to not present problems to the sensor, FINE for film, as the silver is spaced out more, so has a chance to miss the errors in the lens, and print the good stuff, and moir`e is NOT a problem with film, ONLY light leaks or lens flare !!

    • @SamMcGhee
      @SamMcGhee  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a little scratchy! There’s little anchor points I had to really make the peak design anchors tighten up. It really isn’t super secure.

      @@SamMcGhee I have the non moon 907x. I live on Maui, and it's always a scene when I whip it out. I often take the handle off, and shoot it like the film cameras. I do all manual everything, I don't trust the auto mode. Manual white balance too. I aim to shoot slightly underexposed, but even when it does go over exposed, I'm genuinely surprised at recovery options in phocus. It's my very first camera, and a joy to use

    Amen Brother. You dropped the mic on this one. If I want digital convenience and speed I use that option. When I do not need that, I use film equipment. My dad’s 500C still works and even used lenses give me great results. I have a Bronica S2a that is tough enough to use as a hand weapon then continue operating perfectly. Don’t chance trends. Become very proficient with the camera brought to the game. Thanks for this.
