i agree with your opinion about authors using taylor as a way to get sales!! im a swiftie and i am tired of seeing taylor references that are literally on the readers face like the great thing about her is that you can literally reference her work way more subtly and it would work but people just throw references around and market it as something taylor coded because people will buy it
@@cdotcdot780bc the premise is a werewolf and a vampire getting married! She’s saying it’s funny to say the plot to someone who doesn’t read bc it sounds kinda silly
how you described “if only I had told her” is 100% accurate. I could not figure out how to put my feelings about it into words but literally everything you said is spot on
destiny... i love watching you and listening to you. stop apologizing all the time about yourself and how u are and how much you talk. just enjoy it and go for it if someone knows something already and they dont wanna hear you explaining it they can skip its really not a big deal (and if they tell u its a big deal they need to touch some grass fr)
Bride from Ali hazelwood is actually super on brand I feel like Bc a lot of her stuff has to do with nerdier hobbies and she literally took a fanfiction concept and made it into a mainstream book and I love that for her tbh. But I also understand for anyone who didn’t like already acclimatize to what goes on in said book it can be a little weird 😭
24:27 personally I agree and Im not a swiftie nor a hater but tbh i think it can be overdone. She has great songs, but even the spotify playlists are 75-85% taylor swift and i think there are other smaller artists that can be shown. It’s like I think authors may get paid more money to mention her name…. Its one thing if you genuinely like her and her music but it’s another if you’re doing it for gimmicky sales and on purpose
your videos feel like chating with a friend about books, its so fun! I'm about to start if only i had told her, and i feel like I'm gonna feel the same way.
Ugh I love Alex Michaelides books so much and I love the little Easter eggs in all of them. The Greek aspect in The Silent Patient was the tragedy they saw “Alcestis”.
I too read The Fury. I rated it 5 stars, which I've actually done with all his books. I love the way he incorporates Greek myths into his stories and I love how he changes the plot structure in each book. Just FYI- the Silent Patient is based off a Greek myth as well.
I love the concept of not rating them until the end because I also need to process ratings sometimes, and also sometimes I'll put it as one rating and then it's actually something else (a 4 star that turns into a 5 because I literally cant stop thinking about it; a 2 star to a 1 because I actually keep remembering stuff I didn't like)
My most anticipated release was CC3 and I am STRUGGLING to get through it. It has gotten to the point where I am like "Oh my gosh is this over yet?" and I feel like it is mostly my fault because of expectations that I had built up for what I thought was going to be happening in the book.
I read Bride right when it came out and the whole time I was thinking, wow I can't wait to see what Destiny thinks of this🤣 It's been over a week and I still don't know what I think.
So I loved "if he had been with me", it wrecked me for a couple of days, and I think I would have been more interested in the 2nd book if it had been an alternate ending for Autumn and Finny, BUT since it's not, I'm planning on passing on it. I don't need to relive that tragic book again 🤷♀️
22:34 I feel like her goal was to make this book a more open discussion about grief and that’s why she included the other POVs (especially the side character POV….) but did it in a way that came across differently than she had hoped
Finally a real review of if only i had told her that is accurate, like finn “loving” autumn, ppl only “loved” this book for its familiarity… even the previous book did nothing for me
I’m currently reading the Magnolia Parks series and I’m still on the 1st one and I started it month ago but I’m in a reading slump anyways my point is I think that Daisy Haites is also goin to be the one I like
I feel the exact same about the Magnolia Parks books and series!! So glad to know I am not alone in the feelings of the series being a bit draining and annoying as it goes on, but Jessa does give us amazing writing and such a real look on life. I want to read ITD soon!!
I completely agree that in, if only I had told her that that point of view was cut off very abruptly, and that's not what I was thinking it was gonna be
The thing I couldn’t get on with for magnolia parks is the amount of detail that she went into on clothing and brands and outfits it really annoyed me like paragraphs of just description idk I couldn’t get on board with it 🤣
I honestly don't think people who aren't into or don't usually read paranormal romance should pick them up. They're disappointed most of the time because it's not what they are expecting. I personally loved Bride and it made me finally want to read Ali Hazelwood. As for the romance, it's built subtly (though explicitly if you consider how they talk about one another) through the book which may not be everyone's cup of tea.
loved this video!! I have a sci fi/thriller recommendation for you that I think you would enjoy! Annihilation (part of the Souther Reach Trilogy) has been one of the best books i've read so far this year, and one of the best thrillers ever. it's a little more of a psychological/you don't really know what's going on kind of thriller, which I personally really like and I think you might too!
I wanna read if only I had told her so bad but I need to reread the first book and I know it’s just gonna be so painful to get into the characters again
Just finished this new, original collection of fairy tales, entitled 'Sillies, Fancies, and Trifles' - it was phenomenal and just perfect for the season. You guys would love it! What's everyone else reading, I want some more recommendations to add to the lovely ones here. Keep up the beautiful videos :)
My mom is a children’s book author and it would be SO cool if you had Mila picked your TBr and you picked my mom’s books and read them together Destiny!❤️📕
I love to see another person who likes to watch Sinjin Drowning while they read! I don't know what it is about them that makes the perfect background noise!
I can’t read magnolia parks no matter how much everyone raves about it because I physically cannot handle cheating in any form it puts me in a very bad headspace but maybe I could read daisy haites? I need someone to tell me if I should.

And then everyone else (me) spends a week reading a 500 page book😭
