@@sassysaucysurviving7749 what would a guys Christmas be without them? BTW... I learned a long time ago... they don’t work for giving wifey’s Christmas gifts!
That tilted awfully heavy toward the awesome side! Although some assembly... and a teeny bit of fabrication required... you have a nice slug pusher now! FYI... I sent you an e-mail!
I've a question. Tearing mine down, Ultra Slug hunter deluxe I sent for muzzleloader barrel a decade ago because couldn't find ANY saboted slugs to group within 2', yes, feet... The muzzleloader I can have touching holes 175 yards. Anyway I digress. On teardown did you find the stock bolt slightly bent at the beginning of the threads?
Good choice of stock & forearm! I put a Boyd's Nutmeg on my H&R .44 Mag./.44 Spl H&R Handy Rifle. I have a 2nd barrel in .357 Mag/.38 Spl and another Boyd's NMutmeg forearm for it on order. It sure is a huge difference from the H&R stock set. I had the H&R for years but never thought much about it until recently. I was amazed that H&R went our of business because the Handy Rifles have a large following. The prices on E Bay are getting ridiculous, but what can you do? I'm thinking about getting a 3rd barrel & forearm, maybe in .308. These Handy Rifles grow on you.
I realize this post is a few years old, but I have the Ultra Slug 20ga 1871 and would love the thumbhole stock. Could you please tell me if this is a 1871? And did you select the Ultra Slug on Boyd's site?
When I first got mine, I found it shot great out to 200 yards with Remington Buckhammers. Naturally as my luck would have it, they discontinued that slug just a few months later. About $450 worth of slugs and one very sore shoulder later I finally found the 3" Lightfield Hybred Magnum to be a suitable replacement and capable of 200+ yard accuracy. 2 years later I attempted to buy more only to discover they had discontinued that slug too. Fortunately I was able to secure a whole case of Lightfields which should last us for many years. During my testing the second runner up was the Brenneke 3" Magnum 1oz silver slug. It was incredibly accurate and consistent out to 150 yards but went sub-sonic after that and you didn't know where they would end up. In all my testing nothing else even came close in performance to the slugs listed above, not even the solid copper ones. One common theme (with the 3" Lightfield Hybred Magnum and Brenneke 3" Magnum 1oz silver) is the wads are designed to stay with the projectile through the entire flight. I guess the theory is to provide a longer profile giving shuttlecock action and keeping the slug stabile. Whatever the reason, it seems to work as we have accurately dispensed deer out to 210 yards with them.
Well I just got a hold of a 12 Guage ultra slug and I couldn’t let another 20 Guage get away from me I should get the 20 Guage in a couple of days it’s coming in from gun broker

Not that I was aware of, everything seemed to be fine.

I have a 70s 20 ga topper in mod choke. Does anyone make a barrel in 350 legend or 20 ga rifled slug to replace ? I am failing at finding any.

Not 100% sure it will fit. However Boyd's website may tell you. Also you may want to call them, customer service was great for me. Hope that helps.
That's tremendously nice
Thanks!
Wow you got jacked with views on this one . I’m showing off 9k views. Congratulations.

Having trouble with hornaday sabots. What are you shooting??
I'm shooting Hornadays too but no issues.

Very Nice.
You should bring it out to ISC and give it a go at one of the tactical shotgun trap shoots.
I can't mistreat my baby with all you hardcore shooters around😀😀
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
That's a nice gun and wonder are you plan to sell a shotgun?

Anyone put one on a Remington 870 20ga?
Not that I know of personally but Boyd's sells them for just about anything.
The gun sold for 250 dollars ,300 to make it pretty
there aint nothing like a $200 stock on a $100 gun!!
I will take everyone you have for $100!
