Pick spectrum or bipin chandra, any one..... After completion... If you have time go for plassey to partion only to get some good points
If time permits then yes.
NO such need. For ancient and medieval go for old NCERT of RS SHARMA & SATISH CHANDRA. For modern go with BIPIN CHANDRA and then supplement it with spectrum. This is more than enough.
