Hey FunAhead Fans!
This video is a LOT different from my usual content, but I figured I'd make a video walking through the diagnostic process and (hopefully) eventual fix of the Reznor propane heater in my shop. This heater has always been in my shop, but has not worked since well before I owned the building.
The heat in the shop has always been quite inadequate, so I wanted to finally take some time to fix it. Come along with me on the ride!
Thanks for watching this very unusual video,
David
The algorithm sent me here! Nice troubleshooting. Cool that it was that easy! I’m an HVAC Tech.
Ayeee, thanks so much for watching and approving my troubleshooting methods; so much respect for you guys and all that you do! I was very pleasantly surprised to know that’s all that was stopping it from running this whole time. Thanks for watching along, I appreciate you!
David, I’m so proud of you. That’s amazing. Lol
Hehe thank you!
The usual test is to jump the two thermostat wires at the heater itself. This gets rid of the wiring and thermostat to just test the unit itself. In this case, you would know the unit works right away, and then the issue lies outside the unit (thermostat or wiring). Thermostat is easy to check, which then just leaves the wiring.
I appreciate the input! For sure… In retrospect, that would have told me what I needed to know right away. Unfortunately, I had nooo idea about how any of it worked. Kinda figured it out as I went.
nice troubleshooting process
Thanks!!
I see these and am always reminded of the Reznor boss in Super Mario World. 😆
😂
Requesting more HVAC videos. Making it through your first low voltage short is an HVAC techs right of passage!
Haha I’ll see what I can do ;) Feels good to have successfully navigated through it!!
And a HVAC technician would have charged you couple hundred dollars and would of had to come back because he didn't have that type of wire in his truck which in turn would have cost you more money
You mean an HVAC tech doesn’t carry around sketchy old speaker wire like what I used?? 😂😂 jkjk. I hear ya though… I was not about to pay up for that.
