    Specs + Photos: hubs.ly/H0rvgSx0
    Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
    Asking Price: $4,795,000
    Yacht Broker: Mike Kiely / (954) 304-2768 / Mike@DenisonYachting.com
SIMON SAYS is an 86 Outer Reef built in 2017. She was designed and built with systems to allow her to travel in sea conditions that would otherwise prevent similar size yachts to seek shelter in the closest port. With 14 tons of air conditioning and a full Webasto Diesel heating system, she can travel to areas of high heat or cold environments in comfort.
Her layout features 4 spacious owner & guest cabins, plus 2 crew cabins aft with heads, sky lounge and galley. For the owner/Operator, the Crew cabins are appointed equally to the guest cabins. This would increase to 8 cabins in total. The engines chosen for the boat provide a wide range of cruising speeds and ranges varying from 8.5 knots to 14.5 knots and up to 3000-mile range. Extended cruising in luxury and safety is the basic concept for an Outer Reef Yacht. All Outer Reef Yachts are built to open Ocean Category "A" (wave heights 18-20' and sustained winds of over 40 knots).
This 86' Outer Reef is a true bluewater cruiser, powered for fuel economy and long-range. She's also designed specifically to do the great loop.
Her 3,500 gallon fuel capacity provides a range of 3,000 miles when required at hull speeds or higher cruising speeds to 14.5 knots for shorter passages. Further enhanced, this high volume vessel has very complete electronics and satellite systems, and for nighttime safety, the Carlisle and Finch Nightfinder 200 spotlight has an integrated FLIR pixel thermal camera providing 15 million candlepower to both identify and ward off a potential target in her path. With a total of six owner, crew and guest cabins, all with ensuite heads and showers, plus two additional heads on the main deck and skylounge, beautiful teak, marble and granite interior, spacious country kitchen, alfresco aft deck, large boat deck and comfortable salon, this yacht provides all the benefits of a 100’ vessel.
    Her upgrades include:
1140hp CAT C-18’s with low hours
Hydraulic bow and stern thrusters (55hp)
    Trac Zero Speed stabilizers
    (2) 38 kW Northern Lights generators
    Passarelle
    (2) Ultra stainless steel anchors with Maxwell capstans
    Seatorque shafts
Furuno TZT Black Box electronics linked to 3-24 inch Bridge Command monitors.
Control4 AV systems with Bluetooth, iPhone interfaces plus televisions in the sky lounge, salon, galley plus all guest and crew staterooms.

The Hampton 68 has a dedicated heater to heat the rooms when their 68’ Endurance boat is in cold climates. I wonder if Outer Reef has such an option.

Another brilliant tour, Ryan's narration is clear and precise.
Everything about this yacht is excellent, every aspect enhances the overall package, nothing is ruined by compromise. Crew and guest facilities are faultless. A little battleship, almost flawless.
An awesome vessel, one l would love to own in a few years, this is the blueprint when I do get there.
    Thanks for the tour. 👍👍👍🚢🛥☠⛴🛳⚓🚤⛵😎

For all the talk of being built for the Great Loop, there is not one mention of bridge clearance or draft. This looks to be well over the 19' 6" maximum height required, and I'd be willing to bet the draft is over 5' as well. I have heard of boats with 6' draft making the trip, they had to take less desirable routes.

The most "distinctive" feature of this boat is that it is creating a massive bow wave which means that it will require huge amounts of energy to go not very fast. Apart from that it is quite tasteful, which makes a change from the usual tat that gets presented on these kind of videos.Note no books anywhere. Or bookshelves. No rugs. No colour. No texture. No fabrics.

Someone is spending millions of dollars on these yachts. Even with the screens, the helm looks like a bunch of junk jammed together on nice wood. Why can’t one company incorporate everything into the same interface? If it can be done on space capsule, it surely can be done on a yacht.

no heat radiates from inside and outside, especially the top deck, everything white plastic, no benches, a cheap railing, no sunroof, I would replace the railing for a closed wall with LED lighting. but tastes are different. the cabins look nice with the wood. the engine room is beautiful and a lot of work around the engine. the only ugly thing is the upperdeck. otherwise a nice boat to make many nautical miles around the world.

Pushing that much water up at the bow, no, not a long range displacement yacht. 3500gallons/13K litres with C18's - 1140 Hp EACH x 2? even at 50 litres per hour not possible. C18's would chew through much more than that at 8 knots. Lets say 90 to 120 litres per hour combined for the two of them, (God forbid pushing up to 15 knots + what 150 to 230 litres per hour?) anyway 13K litres dived by 100 Litres per hour (being nice) X 8 knots = 1,040 nautical miles. A long way from a Ocean crossing vessel. A 60 footer with the right hull shape and engine would chew through 18 to a max 25 litres per hour at 7 knots. There are many out there that does this type of litres per hour and even more, you just have to look.

What if the engines were weaker, like 450-500 hp each? By the way, great info that they dont give you on the pampflet.

    • @Leosarebetter
      @Leosarebetter 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@123OGNIAN Good question, Lets say that we go down to 405 HP, lets pick a Cummins, that engine in an average displacement 60 footer would still chew though about 35 litres an hour at around 9 knots. In a twin installation thats a combined chew of 70 Litres per hour + Generators. However a lot of so called Ocean Voyager yachts need extra HP for a few reasons, 1) the hull design is not slippery enough, that means it pushes harder than it should just to get through the water. (If you see an almost flat & calming wake behind a boat, you know you are on a good thing with slip, if the wake is bubbling/angry, the hull shape is not fuel efficient) Many manufacturers have ineficient hull shapes, some top brands btw. I was recently at the hard at a marina and just could not believe just how much "junk" was under the waterline on this particular 70 footer. it also had big twins.... 2) they (the owner and manufacturer) want to go fast! so big HP = BIG $ at the fuel pump, let alone maintenance. Most go fast hulls ( I wont call these hulls planing) are a hell of a compromise between go fast and cruising and almost always, it never works efficiently. In a go fast/displacement hull you have to slow down to 6 to 8 knots in the rough, you simply cant go fast in the rough with a mono hull out in the Ocean, and a yacht that tries to be both fast and displacement is simply not as sea worthy as a full displacement in rough weather. Planing hulls are for speed - Displacement hulls should be just that, displacement - anyway thats my 2 cents worth. If you are interested I can put up a few links of examples of what I said above. Cheers and happy sailing :)

@@Leosarebetter Cheers to you to mate.Im still below amateur and saving but hopefully in 10 years something good will happen haha. The way i see these things today and the so called fuel efficiency makes me think that something like a sail/electric catamaran combo might be the future, or smaller trawlers like the nordhavn 63 that only uses 1 (i believe 420hp) engine(excluding the wing engine)
