Be careful about self help books though! I have found that some can be very damaging bc they centre on positive and happy lives, reinforcing this goal, the fact you haven't achieved this and including practical things that are impossible, such as having solely positive thoughts. I know heaps are straying from this damaging content now, but just be mindful about what you are listening to.
Are you talking about repeating stupid positive affirmations without processing pain, anger and not express your "negative" emotions ? Healing is about being kind & compassionate to yourself and also about getting to the source of your pain :)
I havent read the book yet, but I started reading The Happiness Trap, which focuses on not ignoring negative feelings but rather learning how to cope with them in a healthy way.
I like working out but one thing I never get about people is when they say it gives them so much energy and they can do anything. Even after months and months of working out, i am done and out for the day. If i work out in the morning im sleepy, groggy, and slugish the rest of the day. It keeps my body fit but it has never once given me energy lol
I have been in a creative rut for the past 4 years and it's really bring down my mental wellness specially because I'm not working towards what I am meant to be doing. I feel like I need a re start of refresh but I don't know how. since I'm studying something I'm not interested in that takes a lot of mental and emotional energy, thankfully I'm almost done with the course, but now I don't know what to do and where to go next. any little tips help, the hobby thing I recently picked up film photography and I feel soooo much better already, it's also a creative hobby that brings me back to my main goals and it's new that I've never done before. I do feel more inspired but also I get very obsessive and if that happens I will get bored of the activity quickly, I hope this does not happen this time. thank you for the tips

So true. Now when something bad happens I feel like I attracted it. If I'm feeling down I get depressed because I'm feeling down. If that makes sense.
