  • The plaintiff says the defendant’s stepdad was his godfather. He claims the defendant tried to stop the funeral after the man passed away, so he’s suing for funeral costs and emotional distress. The defendant says the plaintiff is rude and vulgar, and she denies her stepdad was his godfather. She’s countersuing for emotional distress.

The woman didn't stop talking about non sence and it ended up as she wanted to. I can understand why her step father didn't trust her.

JM be asking questions sometimes that don’t have any bearing on the facts of the case but just wants people’s personal issues to be on blast and exploited…especially when he makes jokes about things that are very sensitive, and stuff like that.

I wasn't confused. She clearly wasn't around. The deceased was as much her father as his. His name was on everything so he assumed it meant he had the sole right to take care of services. They fought over the funeral arrangements because she popped put of no where. She stated she was denied access. I don't think he stopped her from attending the funeral he just stopped her from being in charge. I believe she was gone or rather not present once her mom passed away. He was more there. They don't see one another as equals brother and sister. He has legal right to the insurance money and didn't have to use it to pay for the funeral cost. He was so busy trying to over talk her he talked his way out of his money. And she the same. Since he brought her to court he walked away with the L

I lost my dad in 1992 and my mother a few years back.
I'll tell you the glory outcome is that I don't have to have anything to do with my siblings.
Life is very pleasant and very blissful. It's never been so drama-free. I love it!!
If you can relate to what I went through I'm sorry but I'm hoping you're as happy as I am now.

I lost my parents a couple years apart from each other, during that time I started to see relatives true colors specifically my siblings. When my grandma past my uncle who she left in charge, didn't obey her wishes and stole her money and left the rest of the family with nothing and didn't even buy his own mother a grave stone. My own sister was so selfish she didn't even allow us to spread our mothers ashes as everyone wanted, she kept it for herself. At my grandma's funeral she bad mouth our mother. I could go on and on smh. It's always the people who aren't there for the deceased or not that close trying to paint a different picture and put on a show, I Know I have memories and no one can take that from me. I've been through sooooooo much and cried for sooooo long, but I've made peace with it and I'm living a much more peaceful life without em. I don't talk to my sister either but we were never really close so I'm not hurt over it. I understand, and I'm glad you found peace.

Material things will never buy anyone true happiness, what you've found in your life no amount of money can buy, true peace and happiness. People who buy over the top houses, cars etc are usually trying to fill avoid. Even if you're renting now it's not a bad thing because you're not having to pay a mortgage and upkeep on house can be expensive smh. This is the exact reason why people should make pre-arrangements or have a will. She stopped the funeral because she was in her right to (that’s why the court granted her permission to do so).
I work in funeral service, and it’s very hard caring for an individual with family problems like this, but at the end of the day if the decedent does not have pre-arrangements or will explaining who is in charge, the decision making goes to the NOK; doesn’t matter if they were close or not.
