IMPORTANT NEW SETTINGS UPDATE:
The following can be updated in your PCSX2 Gran Turismo 4 Properties:
Under Advanced > EmotionEngine > Clamping Mode - This can now be set to "Normal"
Under Graphics > Display > Crop - Left, Top, Right and Bottom can all be set to "2px"
Under Graphics > Display > Rendering - Blending Accuracy can now be set to "Basic""
Under Graphics > Display > Rendering - Mipmapping can now be set to "Automatic""
The following are nice to haves based on your preference:
Load Texture Packs:
Under Graphics > Display > Texture Replacement > Options - You can tick "Load Textures" to load texture packs/replacements. Under Search Directory, ensure this is pointing to your textures folder
Wheel Setup:
Under PCSX2 Settings > Controllers > USB Port 1 - You can now select "Wheel Device". You should then configure your wheel bindings manually.

@@rsr9377 were you able to complete driving licenses with these settings, though? I'm having issues from the third on - the game slows down to a halt while loading, making it near impossible to finish them all and progress in the game.

@@rsr9377 I tried the outlined 'general' settings, but to no avail.
For anyone looking for a fix:
1. Go to Advanced tab in GT4 settings in PCSX2. Look for the EmotionEngine section.
2. Change EE Clamping Mode to 'Normal' or 'EE Clamping Mode Extra + Preserve Sign'
3. Uncheck 'Enable Recompiler', so that the interpreter would kick in. The game will slow down considerably, don't worry.
4. Let the event load in-game.
5. Check 'Enable Recompiler'. This will make the game run at normal speed.
For extra safety, you may wish to exit to the license's selection menu so that the game saves. Repeat the steps 3 to 5 for every event.

But i have still one little Issue. It's the little Indicator in a Race, which is showing me the Gap between me and the Car behind. The Icon of the Car is there, but no Time at all. I know this has something to with "Clamping" or so, but I don't find an Option in the Emulator.

@@S-396-Shark your game must be PAL and not NTSC. For PAL, read the description of my other video: th-cam.com/video/ORzjn9WN8HM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mZ4W1Hw2GeO8OkbL which should help. Currently, it's recommended to play the NTSC version so you have that setting and can play at 60 FPS.

it really sucks pcsx2 nightly doesnt work for moza wheels. luckily the old version still supports it with a usb plugin but id like to be using the current emulator. seems like it works fine for low end wheels though

I still trying to fix my problem with the speed off the game. It looks like is in fast foward. When racing every time the FPS floats, the game goes like 10x fast foward and become unplayable. In the menu, the icons and music are crazy fast. If anyone can help me, please...

It could be you enabled fast forward with F4. Or turbo with Tab.
I have a problem bro, first of all, sorry if you don't understand much of what I'm saying but Google Translate is rubbish, that being said, the problem I have is that in the configuration instead of passing one box it passes 2, That is, let's suppose that I am in the game control configuration and I am in the steering box. Is there a way of preventing the terrible frame pacing issues? That's my main gripe with the emulation thing - frame pacing is usually really bad and my eyes bleed when faced with that issue
Yes, if you follow the settings in the guide and your PC is powerful enough.
We’re seeing the framepacing issues in the gameplay at the end, I think that’s probably why he asked if there’s any way to smooth it out
No @@massachusetts9394 there's no frame pacing issues with the gameplay. The reason you see slight frame drops is down to the recorder I use, for some reason it adds a bit of lag to the video. Everytime I play the game, it's butter smooth. So, as I said, it comes down to your PC specs.
Can you help me? My settings in the game always changes, especially the screen settings and the monitor settings too, whenever i reset the game it changes back to the original.
Hi, I think this is a known issue. It's best to create a save state when you exit the game so you can continue where you left off. This means all settings should still be in place. 👍

Which version better overall ntsc or pal?
NTSC will give you 60 FPS + the option for best image/screen quality (480p). While PAL will give you 50 FPS but graphics will be blurry (there is a patch for sharp quality but I think it needs to be updated).
I'm on nightly, version 1.7.5189. So far, I only have two issues:
- In replays, I'm noticing a weird graphical glitch where the car is visually offset at certain angles, like a line is constantly moving up the screen, distorting the image.
- The split time only shows the car image, but not the time difference.
Any ideas?

From 5:09 - you can find analog sensitivity by clicking settings. Adjust this to your liking. 👍
There is a cheat in silents blog that enables pressure sensitive inputs
@@rsr9377 analog sensetivety is too fast at 100% with xbox elite contoller (ps4 a bit better/slower from center posision.) If i select less than 100% then the car woun't turn 100% or give full trottle with right stick. so we need a better progressive filter setting we can use (slower near senter). With the orginal ps2 and 1 controller the car was less twitchy. A filter setting with slower steering at senter and faster return to senter. Now with latest daily build the car feels wiggly and feel cinda driving with digital pad. aka 100% on of. It feels like the controller setting is tuned for wheel driving who has up to 900 degree turning and are easier to contoll the car then.
Why can't i change my controller to the second port to open the secret menu? Every time i change it just stops working
Enabling multitap in controller global settings fixed it if anyone else is having this issue

This is an old version. They now want you to grab the latest nightly build so you have the latest version.

Hey! Sounds like an interlacing issue. Is your game NTSC or PAL?
@@rsr9377 Soon as I saw the word "Interlacing" I knew the issue. Been away from the game for a while and forgot 480i interlacing in the game settings.

Hey! Do you get any kind of error? What do you see in game? Have you set the "Adapter" setting to your GPU?
You can also try and set the renderer to Direct 3D.
@@rsr9377 I get the following error "Failed to create render device. This may be due to your GPU not supporting the chosen renderer (Vulkan), or because your graphics drivers need to be updated." and yes the adapter is set to my AMD Radeon RX 6600. Direct3D works, but should I go for 11 or 12?
@@RedHoodie15 yes you can try Direct3D 12, but if that's not stable just switch back to Direct3D 11. For Vulkan, one thing you can try is update your graphics drivers.
If that doesn't work, see if you can find the log file called "emulog.txt" in the "\logs" folder or in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs". Open the file and check if you can see the following errors in the file: "Vulkan: Missing required extension VK_KHR_push_descriptor."

My problem is that using the controller, it feels too stiff and too mechanical, which shouldnt be the case since its a ps4 controller.
I agree, it can be improved. For now, it's just trial and error for what suits your style.

I had the same problem and couldn't see the advanced settings like shown in the video. It turns out that advanced settings are hidden now by default on newer versions of PCSX2. We can toggle them on by going to Tools -> Show Advanced Settings.
You dont need clamping mode to be set at full anynore in the new nightly builds of pcsx2
