Brig Devinder Singh had to go to court to clear his name. But because of his moral courage, he saved precious Indian Soldiers lives. I would recommend the interview of Major Manish Bhatnagar.
BRIG Devender Singh is our SHAAN!!! Such a brilliant officer and we are proud to have BRIG Devender Singh on this Land. Top brass of GEN's have failed us and great people like BRIG Devender Singh are our Hero!!!!
Respect to Brig. Devinder Singh 🙏 Why do these things keep repeating with the Indian Army whenever in every conflict or war: 1) The Chief of Staff proclaims to press "We are ready for any eventuality" 2) Indian soldiers lack basic equipment like proper shoes, weapons, cold weather attire, faulty equipment etc. and an emergency order is given to some foreign nation for imports at high cost to the exchequer 3) Babu Generals and coward commanders who stay far from battlefield are given gallantry medals while true heroes involved in action are forgotten or blamed for mess ups. 4) After a few years the truth is revealed and an enquiry is set up. The enquiry commission submits its finding to the political leaders who assume the Indian people should not know it even though India is a democracy and no reform or change is instituted for failures to not reoccur; the problem is repeated in the next conflict or war 5) The culprit commanders keep availing pension post retirement instead of being courtmartialed like its done in any respectable army of the world! Though modern India has a legacy of bravery and valor in the lower and mid level ranks; the high ranking commanders seem to be there mainly due to academic merit, which no doubt is important for planning, strategy etc. but at the end its comes down to sheer bravery and competency to lead soldiers

Brig Devinder Singh's contribution was commendable but our hierarchy ie Senior Officers failed to think/ appreciate and evaluate the Situation. Crossed all difficult Passes n lakes (TSO) with my fighting Vehicles. Kargil ops Troops n Junior officers Fought n Fought Gallantly. My Salutation to Brave Soldiers. From Brig DS Sandhu
Brig Devinder Singh was not made a Major General or Lt General cause of Villains like Bhudwar But he was T'HE reason why several hundred Jawans are still alive. Any country which elevates incompetent officers to the rank of Generals is doomed to suffer some day. Sadly the price is paid by the brave Soldiers and their families
Be it 1962, 65 or 99, some Army Generals treated the soldiers as cannon fodder. They were never held accountable. And the sad part is till this date Henderson Brooks Bhagat report is still kept confidential.
Henderson brooks was for 62 debacle. India did learn a painful lesson from that war. The way 7 infantry brigade was destroyed and PoW brig dalvi was treated after his return was devastating.
Brig. Devinder Singh ji salute to you and we are all very proud of you, one thing which hits me deep inside is why is that the Generals above everything, I don’t wish them to name and shame them but responsibility is missing and that’s clear from your interview 🙏🙏
Brig Devender is the Most Amazing gentleman and an awesome officer. So coherent and clear, fighting on till date to clear the fact. Hopefully someone higher up does pay heed and give him his due. Hats off sir. We are proud of you. Thank you for your service to the nation.
Sir, A rather comprehensive analysis and data. In our country everything seems to be going down the emotional path and people forget about the true facts and people responsible to be made accountable for.we have a very poor military history and therefore lessons are never learnt and we make same mistakes every time. By your channel it’s very important to analyse, learn and make people accountable for their actions. Please keep educating us and carry on the good work
Excellent conversation. Proud of Brigadier Devinder Singh Saab! His decision making reflects the maturity of officers across ranks in the Indian military. Thank you Brigadier Sir for your outstanding services to the motherland. Immensely grateful.
Highest Respects to Brig. Devinder singh . A great warrior. Leading his brigade from front. He walked to all areas on foot to see for himself the situation of the enemy and his planning was the best. Salutes from jk civil defence srinagar.
Brig. Devendra Singh was made perfect scapegoat by his senior generals to save and hide their own failures during initial Kargil war 1999. Senior generals that time felt it was a minor Infiltration from enemy side. Actually in reality, it was planned Intrusion by Pak regulars to find well entrenced on tops of Indian terrotory within 10kms away from LC. The use of heavy guns and accurate firing to approaching indian troops were evident to prove that they were not infiltrators but intrudors. Poor military brains shown here. Resulted in death of officers and jawans.
Brig. Devender Sing deserved much better and so did Major Manish Bhatnagar who was courtmarshalled and dismissed and worse no law to get his justice!#$%^&****
Watched with interest. The truth has to be known. You are doing a great service. I would like to learn more. Obviously we have to correct many processes.
My salutes to General Davinder singh. He was not promoted to the rank of a General because he was not into networking higher officers. But for ordinary people, he will be addressed as General bcoz he deserved to be one.
My regards to Brig. Devinder Singh, for his service to nation......and Kanwar Sir for ur honest job as a journalist.....I always dreamt some series on kargil that gives reality, not official narration......ur show enlightened me alot.
After hearing this interview, my blood boils that still after 25 years we are not able to settle this issue, which was the result of malic of the corps commander towards his brigade commander.. More over, I still don't find that any mechanism is in place which can prevent such occurrences in future.
Thank you for this video. Finally someone brave enough to speak out. Hats off to Brig. Devender Singh. I followed the Kargil war on a day to day basis. I collected newspaper cuttings and articles from magazines. This account is sketchy and short. Kargil was a colossal failure and a defeat for India. The first thing to remember is that the Indian army is not run by generals but by politicians and bureaucrats, who are the ''pay and promotion masters'' of the defense forces, thus the scope for manipulation and corruption is very great despite all the discipline in the army. The lives and future of army officers and their families can be destroyed by a single stroke of the pen by a sick and selfish senior. Republic Day parade is fine. But when you see the conditions of the same soldiers on the western front, it is very sad. What is even more worse is the battle preparedness. According to a national newspaper, the Indian army has enough ammunition to fight a full scale war for only 20 days after that politicians and bureaucrats will broker peace and count the dead. The illegal Bofors gun which was vilified by the ''Hindu'' newspaper, was the real savior of the Kargil war. Tiger Hill was blasted into pieces by the super accurate Bofors gun. Hundreds of Pakistani troops were killed without a single casualty on our side. The day and night bombardment snuffed out all resistance. Only a few Pakistani soldiers remained. Most of them were injured and they even ran out of food. If they had been left in this condition, all of them would have died a natural death. But something more serious happened. The Indian army ran out of shells for the Bofors guns (When the Guns Became Silent). Then the tragedy happened. India had Brahmos missiles, Agni missiles, grads, but none of them were used. India, till today has no long range artillery guns. It is a shame. Compare the Russians, who use their artillery and every kind of missile to hit the enemy with devastating results, but they do not sacrifice their soldiers. For the Defense Establishment, the lives of our brave Jawans were cheaper than missiles and rockets. Order was given to climb Tiger peak and take it. It was like ''The Charge of the Light Brigade''. With no proper winter clothing and gear, our soldiers began the ascent on the 16,608 feet Tiger peak, which is treacherously steep. Then the tragedy happened. Less than 60 Pakistani soldiers were on the peak. The whole world knows what happened. We can only cry for our brave soldiers and their families. There was no need to occupy Tiger Hill. There should have been many resignations at the top, but no one resigned. But loyal army officers like Brigadier Devender Singh and Major Manish Bhatnagar who stood up for their jawans, were selectively punished and dismissed from the army. We captured Peak 5562 and lost the Kargil war.
HE SHOULD UPLOAD a comprehensive chronology of the Kargil War, incorporating all the details ALONG WITH PROOFS IN A WEBSITE. Here's the expanded chronology: 1998 May: India and Pakistan conduct nuclear tests, escalating tensions. July: Tensions further escalate between India and Pakistan following the nuclear tests. November: According to Ajit Doval (former Intelligence Bureau chief), Indian intelligence first detects Pakistani activities in Kargil sector. 1999 January-February: Major Manish Bhatnagar claims Indian Army's 121 Brigade receives reports of Pakistani intrusions but dismisses them. April 13: According to Brigadier Devinder Singh, he briefs senior commanders about Pakistani build-up and possible attacks. Late April: Indian patrols observe unusual movements and infiltration across the Line of Control (LoC). May 1999 May 3: Local shepherds alert Indian Army to infiltrators in Kargil district. May 5: Captain Saurabh Kalia and his team are captured and killed by infiltrators. May 9: Pakistani forces begin heavy artillery shelling, targeting National Highway 1A. June 1999 June 1: Indian Air Force (IAF) launches air strikes under Operation Safed Sagar, targeting Pakistani positions. June 5: Indian forces identify the extent of the infiltration, revealing that it includes regular Pakistani troops. June 9: Indian Army recaptures two key positions, Tololing and Point 4590, in the Dras sector. June 13: Indian Army captures Point 5140, gaining a strategic advantage in the Dras sector. July 26: Officially marked as Kargil Vijay Diwas (Victory Day) in India. The Indian Army announces the complete eviction of Pakistani infiltrators from the Indian side of the LoC. Post-War August 1999: Both India and Pakistan continue to reinforce their positions along the LoC. November 1999: Indian Army conducts an internal review of the conflict and identifies lapses in intelligence and operational procedures. 2000 onwards: India strengthens its border defenses and infrastructure to prevent similar infiltrations in the future. Key Operations Operation Vijay: The Indian Army's code name for its operations to clear the Kargil sector of intrusions. Operation Safed Sagar: The Indian Air Force's operation involving air strikes against infiltrator positions. Operation Talwar: The Indian Navy's operation to blockade Pakistani ports and exert pressure on Pakistan. Key Points of Contention Early Warnings: Doval, Bhatnagar, and both Brigadiers Singh claim that there were earlier indications of Pakistani activities, potentially as early as November 1998. Dismissal of Reports: Some accounts suggest that early warnings were not taken seriously by higher authorities. Preparedness: These alternative chronologies imply that India could have been better prepared if early warnings had been heeded. Intelligence Failure: The discrepancies between official and alternative timelines highlight potential intelligence and communication failures within the Indian security establishment. This chronology incorporates both the official narrative and the alternative accounts provided by various military officials. It highlights the complexity of the situation leading up to and during the Kargil War, as well as the ongoing debates about intelligence, preparedness, and decision-making during this period.
I am amazed at the calmness and composure exhibited by Brig.Devendar despite the deep hurt he had personally suffered and the inability of courts to grant him back the honour he was due. This is a classic example as to how cases of injustice has no recourse to correction, because of the rigid military protocol. However through this video the nation would know the facts of the matter and appreciate the conscience of the man who fought the battle and suffers no guilt.
Mr Sandhu the close ups of the Brig were more important than your being in the frame while he is speaking. He is termed as a great Commander by the soldiers who operated under him.
Brig Devinder Singh should write a book which may be titled Lies Truth and Kargil Conflict This book would educate our leadership asto how matters military should be dealt with
It is sad higher up generals sacrificed well trained soldiers at Kargil. As a layman I am shocked I bow my head to those brave hearts who laid down their lives . My salute to Devinder Singh . He comes in line of Sagat Singh, Inderjithdillon etc who loved their soldiers serving under them.
According to my view ,if artillery was not involved in this war specially Bofors guns, this war will not end till at least six months, Pakistani looses its 90 percent casualties by indian artillery.
Now data from all side is available to nation and this is right time to fix accountability of that time public servants i.e.General now Retd.,Intelligence Chief. At least pension of these officials should be stopped and take legal opinion to register cases.Case should be registered against that time General now Retd. for allwoing live telecast and for mismanagement at initial stage. Excellent talk. In fact after the 1971 war the mass conversions, mostly of Muslims from western Punjab into Sikhs leading radicalisation of rural Punjab youth in to militants with the concoction of jan sangh being divided and converted to bjp in late 70’s which all culminated to 84’riots had undercurrents somewhere. When Gandhi’s were murdered and brig. Brar who lead the blue star operation were chased down brutally, the officers distanced themselves from getting involved in lower order and their conflicts. The Kargil war was the last leg to show outsiders the door after 84’riots and a strong message to be passed that come through fair channels and you will be welcomed within the system and not through bypassing or breaching security in conjunction with the lower ranks. Hence, juniors somewhere or the other had to be blamed to pass on the wrong message which infuriated the situation in to killing of so many politicians and officers. One misleading piece of information to motivated posterity can cause havoc, hence juniors were being blamed for passing on wrong signals may be. Aberrations would settle when the hard work, sacrifice, character and determination which goes in to making of a soldier would be highlighted than merely the romancing of protagonists. Seriously, a lot goes in to carving a gentleman but our intel officers have to pose the lower ranks to get to their level to have an insight into their beings. May be such Intel had been instrumental in decoding the cause of war then. Rest, taking citizenship of India is no big deal, anyone can come and live as a citizen given the observation of certain rules and protocols. Anyways, one can not make out the difference between a Pakistani and Indian if switched attires and roles. Especially in Punjab which is the byproduct of both the nations. Hence, respect the territories and boundaries and lot can be sorted. Thanks for such enlightening conversation, thoroughly enjoyed it.
the generals who played golf wwhen Kargil infiltrarion were on , who were finding faullt with their juniors, depreiving field officers from awards, were not taken to task. no accoutability in India ever!!
Shameful system .....such a brave and decorated office has to go to court because he speak truth . 21 mountain was captured and brigd. Devinder Singh lead that....very disappointed wt happen with him ....
It has been appropriate if the interview should have been conducted in Hindi or Punjabi. Sorry to say it is aimed at audience's outside India. This is what the Chandigarh Cabal are upto.
Sir, you must invest into better tech-infra wth proper podcast mikes that make the voice clear. Loved your content but had to stress my ears for clarity of audible content. In Kargil War (with Pakistan in 1999)), a coterie of Indian Army Generals did not deliver: says Indian Army Brigadier Devinder Singh, former Commander, 70 Infantry Brigade responsible for Batalik Sector in Kargil Farooq Moin
India did not have any preparation noproper plan of facing a short intentive war or even properly managed Warwastage reserves...Years of corruption in foreign procurement of defence requirements caused this disaster
Bhagat sing murkhoo ke liye pahle bhi fasi chada tha aaj bhi Chad he raha hai you are the real hero who not only won the war but thought about soldiers life.

Brig Devinder Singh should write a book which may be titled Lies Truth and Kargil Conflict
This book would educate our leadership asto how matters military should be dealt with
It is sad higher up generals sacrificed well trained soldiers at Kargil. As a layman I am shocked I bow my head to those brave hearts who laid down their lives . My salute to Devinder Singh . He comes in line of Sagat Singh, Inderjithdillon etc who loved their soldiers serving under them.
Outstanding officer
Monumental failure on the part of generals.
Brig Singh indian military history will certainly have your name.
Very informative. Thanks sir.
Please bring Brig Surinder Singh
There is an interview with Brig Surinder on same channel, worth watching
Salute to Brig. DS Singh. True Military leadership
Thank u Kanwar Sandhu ji for digging deep.
Salute to you Sir
According to my view ,if artillery was not involved in this war specially Bofors guns, this war will not end till at least six months, Pakistani looses its 90 percent casualties by indian artillery.
Now data from all side is available to nation and this is right time to fix accountability of that time public servants i.e.General now Retd.,Intelligence Chief. At least pension of these officials should be stopped and take legal opinion to register cases.Case should be registered against that time General now Retd. for allwoing live telecast and for mismanagement at initial stage. Hope Brig. Devinder comes out with a book which brings out 70 Infantry Brigade's story which sadly is not known.
Great information shared, however it would be better if done in Hindi, Punjabi. As soldiers who fought also have right to know the whole situation
Really practical military talk … loved it…
Such stories are also there in IPKF operation....operation of nyaroo lagoon in 1989 was one of the very eye opener.
Respected Brig Davander singh
सत्यमेव जयते ✨️ जय हिंद 🇮🇳
Thanks
Good to hear a real Soldier. Most at his level and upwards were PR people. Jai Hind
Excellent interview. Lot of fog has now been cleared.
Excellent interview.
And what a hoax by the Generals😡
the generals who played golf wwhen Kargil infiltrarion were on , who were finding faullt with their juniors, depreiving field officers from awards, were not taken to task. no accoutability in India ever!!
Budhwar n krishn pal should hv been sacked instead of Bhatnagar
Now that it has come to public domin, we have our salutes to you ,our dear brilliant officer.May God bless you and your family!

Just highlight for cloud or public financing, by sharing your account details. I will contribute, so will many patriotic Indians

Gen Krishnakant and Budhwar can't put everything on intelligent failure for wrong acessmement
In Kargil War (with Pakistan in 1999)), a coterie of Indian Army Generals did not deliver: says Indian Army Brigadier Devinder Singh, former Commander, 70 Infantry Brigade responsible for Batalik Sector in Kargil Farooq Moin
Same in IPKF battle. A very good Brig Pulsokar was not given next rank .
Brig Devinder singh ours real Heero
India did not have any preparation noproper plan of facing a short intentive war or even properly managed Warwastage reserves...Years of corruption in foreign procurement of defence requirements caused this disaster
Brig Devender Singh is Real Hero of Kargil Commander of 11 Bn inko Maj Gen nahi Bataya Ye COAS ke Layak h
