Good job I've been watching all of your builds for this and they've all been so fun you've been doing a great job congrats on finding all those parts that needed replacing
Thanks for the video. I like the bronco. I may be getting an LTD with the same engine and I may do the timing chain. Same engine, in a different kinda vehicle 😀
Good stuff dude. Can't wait till its done. BTW they sell a one piece oil pan gasket 😀 Also when you get to it, do a inline fuel filter and don't use the ones that screw into the carb.
What Brand of fuel pump did you purchase? I bought a spectra premium offshore pump because mine was starting to leak oil. I took a trip to the interior with My 79 Bronco and that pump stranded me in Princeton after being in my Bronco for 3 days. Luckily I knew an old timer in town in Princeton who had a 15 year old USA made pump new. I installed it and that was 3 years ago. Just warning you that at times if the original part is still working it will be better quality than a new cheap offshore part.
Maybe install a frame mount electric pump for emergencies, run a new line front to back, wire it up and block both ends of the lines, just uncap & use a short section of line with clamps you can keep in the vehicle
Just got a 78 F150 with the same engine and GREATLY APPRECIATE the close WELL LIT shots & explanation, why didn't you go with a roller chain?? Just curious, is there a way I can slow down the clip where you sped it up where I can watch in real time?? Thank Again
Your new timing chain is garbage. You should have gotten a "double row roller chain" and matching sprockets. The double row chain is like two bicycle chains side by side. Yes, the new timing gear is all metal, but the chain is the same crappy one that Ford installed. It will be as loose as the original chain in 10,000 miles. Just because the parts are brand new doesn't mean they are quality parts. BTW, stop calling the chain a "belt". You did this several times. But the video is fantastic.
The double row 3 keyway timing sets are not retarded like the cheap single row replacements if you use the advanced setting. You can set them to the pre1972 setting which gives you 30 more HP and ft lbs down low where you need it. Plus you gain 2 miles to the gallon.
That new timing chain seems soooo much better. The old one was definitely stretched to its useable service life
Ya she’ll run minty now
Love these Bronco's! I am doing an off frame restoration on my 79 Bronco now.
Nice man! I love them as well

Hey quick question if you stop the video at 5:50 the piece you have the towel in what is that piece called
I’m not sure tbh I believe it’s just a “bung” if you have to replace it
What water pump did you go with?
Honestly can’t remember
What about the red motor
Red motor had water in it
