I have picked up mine a couple months ago from Gregg Orr marine in texarkana. I have the 1756 with the new Gatortail 40XD and only have 10 hours on it. I hunt the Texas coast bays/marsh and local fresh water bays and I have to say this thing is a beast! I have a little issue with the back hatch with the gas tank and battery also. It's a little tight on one side but it's not as bad as yours with the hinge breaking. The thing that I have issues with is the ez trac aluminum trailer floating when I load the boat. Im going to drilll some hi holes on the frame to see if that helps get any air out of the trailer frame. Other than that it's a duck killin machine and I run stock with 3 ppl around 26 with decoys and gear. Draft is extremely shallow and torque all day long getting up.
I actually just put in a order for this exact boat. I got the .125 upgraded hull tho. Mines not expected to be done till mid October but keep putting out info videos when you get some time man. Like little things you’re finding that aren’t up to the quality standards they claim. Thanks for the video
Heroish17 yea man I plan on it. I’m going to be honest with any info I put out on it. I was disappointed in a couple of the quality issues that I pointed out in the video, but I do not have buyers remorse. I’m really excited about this boat and the places I’m going to be able to go in it. Thanks for the support and I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
I’m looking at purchasing the 1756 Mstc from them as well. Can you do another review of the pros and con now that you had it ran it and hunted out of it I’m interested to see what ya say about it
Holy cow, I remember you from 3/75. Ironically I just got myself a 1756 DB a few weeks ago and love it. I have had some of the same issues with the paint that you are having, but nothing else. If that's the worst part I think I'll deal with it.
Lee Glaser Yeah man it’s good to hear from you on here! I can live with the paint as well, like I said in the video I have a stencil coming so I’ll be able to do touchups whenever. I got confirmation yesterday that the new hinge is in the mail. So once the lid for that front storage compartment squared away I couldn’t be happier with the boat.
@@swampranger7564 It sounds like you have a much better dealer than mine. I went through Freedom Marine in Guntersville, AL and have had terrible service. I called about a nav light not working and never heard back. I eventually fixed it myself, but the dealer was no help. I didn't get to inspect that at the time of pick up since I got my batteries from Backwoods Landing and not Freedom Marine.
how's this rig holding up after a 2 years ? I was thinking about havoc or excel . I will mount with 60 merc I wanted something lite .thinking excel to heavy and do not like its flat bottom .you have groves in your bottom?,long way to get me a havoc im in Michigan
That’s a sweet package. How is it holding up. Any mechanical issues or maintenance problems? Of course big question how much did it cost boat motor and trailer? Thank you for a great video! Enjoy
Josh H I was told 12-16 weeks. So I didn’t have mine built, I called just about every dealer that sells Havoc to see what they had in stock and the different layouts/ packages they have. My boat is exactly what I would have ordered minus having interior lights added.
Did you notice any tiller torque with your motor I have the same boat and motor and i am having some tiller torque. I am curious if it is just part of load balance or if i have a setup issue, thanks!
I'm not sure what he thinks of his boat, but I've had my 1756DB for about two years now and I love it. I have a 50hp Tohatsu and have had no issues with the boat or motor. My only suggestion would be to lock-tite the threads on any of your seat bases as they might try to come loose over time. We hunted out of this boat quite a bit in 2020/2021 and I don't ever remember him having any issues.
@@leeglaser1688 do you know anything of an MSTC with a GTR 40xd? I’ve heard good things and bad things, just not many people around my town that’s got them. Looking at picking one up
@@Gator291 My only experience was hunting/scouting out of the boat in the video for one season. I know he had some issues early on with the hinge on the front deck (fixed by Havoc), but other than that it was a tank.
I just bought the exact boat! Just put an hour on it so far on a lake run. Where do u usually keep your trim at? Im still trying to get familiar with running it
@@claytonc5 for open water start with the trim low and when you hit “top speed” at that trim level then slowly start raise the trim level. You will feel your speed start to pick up. Doing this is how I found the sweet spot for that top speed. Once you find the sweet spot you will not have to look for it as much anymore. You will get used to it. For mud it just depends. If I get stuck I will raise and lower the trim until I start to feel it bite. If I’m not stuck and hit low areas I will raise the trim so I’m not bouncing the motor off of rocks in the shallows while maintaining whatever speed I’m trying to keep.
Jason Gilbert at this point in time I wish I would have had interior lights included. Granted, that feeling my change as I use and hunt out of the boat and I may wish that I had addend more bells and whistles. Overall I’m happy with it.
Rodney Pennington I really like it man. For the money it’s hard to beat. The only thing I don’t like is how thin the paint is. Outside of that it’s a tank.
That's a good looking boat. How much did it set you back? I'm looking at the War Eagle Gladiator 750. Still in the research area on different duck boats. They have PROS and CONS!
Mike Clark Outdoors I have $20k in the boat. It’s back at Havoc getting the paint issues and hinge fixed currently. Outside of those minor issues I absolutely love the boat, it’s a complete tank. I am going to be making a review part two when I get the boat back from Havoc to go into more detail on it. Something else that impresses me with the boat is how well-built it is and how light it is. Definitely a great boat.
Raymie Segars I drove it for a couple of weeks pretty hard before I sent it back to Havoc to have all of these issues pointed out in the video corrected. But in those couple of weeks I have not had any dents.
Brendan O'Connell I’ve never really been one that cares about how fast my duck boat run it’s more about where it will take me. Given that, I do not have a MPH gauge, but if I had to guess I would say between 27 and 31mph.
Just to add to what he said.... I have a 1756DB with a Tohatsu 50. With a fairly heavy load (2 big guys, ice chest, gas, chain saw, pole saw, trolling motor, two batteries, anchor, etc) I was running 31-33 mph. His boat was only slightly behind after about a 5-6 mile run down the river. I would guess it was easily running in the high 20s to low 30s as he stated.
