Personally have a Swiss Army knife which was given to me over 40 years ago - wherever I go, my knife goes with me, and I also have a "smaller" one which my late mother always carried with her - she passed on in August 1996 at the age of 84. I will be 87 in March, but when I go, I somehow don't think I'll be able to take my knife with me then...
I have a small swiss army knife attached to my keychain and people ask me "why", my answer always is "you don´t know how much you need it until you have one".
In addition, Switzerland has strong workers rights including a system called “Kurtzarbeit” or “short work”. It allows employers to temporarily furlough employees at 80% pay for a short period. It was very effective during COVID, enabling employers to save money without cutting jobs. As an employee, it was clear what will be our income, without hoping for government bailouts subject to whims of politicians. Workers rights are human rights!
I’ve had my rambler on my keychain for more than 10 years now. Been used a lot, still in great working order. Such a nice tool that you can always rely on.
I have carried and used Swiss Army Knives since I was gifted on upon graduation from Basic training and Infantry school at Ft Benning Ga USA for the US Army. Since then I’ve used and collected many and will continue to the rest of my life. Some of my favorites are the Soldier models now discontinued, and the Swiss Champ and the Tinker and Farmer.
I have carried one since I bought my first one at Ft.Leonard Wood during Basic training in 1989. I have a soldier model dated 05 that was given to me by a good friend from Switzerland. I carry an Alox Pioneer which is the same as the soldier model that I bought at the Victorinox store in NYC.
When i was a kid i used to play with my late Dad's Swiss Champ. Fast forward this year, i went to switzerland and my fascination of swiss knife came back to life. I bought 2, Tourist and Classic SD.
I can't recall which knife I has as a kid but I lost it at some point sadly =/ Bought a Mini Champ Alox recently and love it. Not sure I will ever need another SAK but I also still kinda want a bunch of them o.O
@@jrowe9301 Sorry. I responded to the wrong comment in my comment reminder. Disregard what I said, and I will delete it 😅 The fact that Victorinox knives have a lifetime warranty makes them even better.
If they wear out you can just send them back to your distributor. They will sharpen blades and replace worn tools and won’t charge you a penny. If the distributor can’t do it they will actually send the knife back to Switzerland. It’s amazing that they will do this, for nothing rather than just say “oh buy another knife” and give personal attention to a an item of which they make thousands a day. They really care about their product quality.
When I left the planet I met some E.T. and they told me our specie is too primitive to be worth contacting. I showed them my Swiss army knife and they decided to contact us after all.
What do you mean? The one Swiss soldiers don't get issued isn't red??? Actually all Swiss soldiers do get issued a Victorinox Soldier knife, the current one is 111mm with green handles (the One Handed Trekker). The previous model was 93mm alox handles (now called the Pioneer)
"Swiss army knife, never leave the planet without one." Should be the company slogan if not already.
Yes!
I almost guarantee when people to go to Mars, they will have a Swiss Army knife. ;)
The smile on his face when he said that 🥹

Victorinox sets aside some profits during good years just so they never have to lay off any employees in the bad years.
They also heavily diversified their product line away from just knives which has kept there cash flow a lot more stable.

Swiss Army knives are the best 🇨🇭 I love Switzerland. The country is so beautiful and I was there back in December 2022
When i was 7 years old, i watched my first episode of Macgyver. 35 years later, I've had a Swiss Army Knife with me always.
The Mountaineer is a great model for EDC! Just got one a few days ago and already used it several times, love it!
It has been a while since I have seen Carl. Last time I remember it was on a Modern Marvels episode.
I can't recall which knife I has as a kid but I lost it at some point sadly =/

I've usually had a Swiss army knife of some kind throughout my life. I use them until they are completely worn out after several years.
They have a lifetime warranty.
@@MLFreese Have you looked at the price of case pocket knives?

"Never leave the planet without one" - I never leave my house without one. 😉
For the F-36 KIngsnake, it doesn't look impresive. What will it be except expensive? Will it be a V.T.O.L.? Will it be aquatic?
💪🏿
I just bought a Spartan in good condition on ebay for $1.60 😳😄
If you didn't know you don't get one in the Swiss army nor is the knife you get is red

Is it just me or does he look super dodgy?
It's just you
He's very kind actually. His employees love him!
Read my comment: this guy is a saint among bosses. Even when his company took a big hit after 9/11 he refused to let anyone go.
