Welcome to Season 2. BTW -- Mare didn't give his ring back. Ainz refuses to carry a ring outside of the tomb so that no one from outside can steal it, so Mare was giving Ainz HIS ring back.
Aura loves her creator the same way a child loves a parent. She was happy about the bracelet because it had the voice of her mother.
this is true in the source novel and that's how I thought of the scene, but you have to admit that the animation choices are sus

Just a reminder, Bukubukuchagama is the older sister of Peroroncino and the creator of Aura Bella Fiora and Mare Bello Fiore. Bukubukuchagama was also a popular voice actor outside of the game Yggdrasil, having worked on many series and games. The watch Ainz gave to Aura was one of the items she had voiced, so when the watch's alarm speaks, Aura is excited to hear her creator's voice. She sees Bukubukuchagama as her mother, who may have either died or ascended to a higher plane where all the Supreme Beings come from due to boredom with the world.
In creating Aura and Mare as NPCs, Bukubukuchagama intended to mirror how she perceives her relationship with Peroroncino. Thus, Aura, the older female twin, has the more dominant and outgoing personality and wears the pants in the relationship, while Mare, the younger male twin, is shy, timid, and relies on his sister in social situations. Bukubukuchagama may have teased Peroroncino by making his NPC counterpart wear a skirt. That being said, yes she is also a bit of a perv who seems to like having cute things crossdress.
Furthermore, Bukubukuchagama and Peroroncino's real-life sibling relationship means that Aura and Mare are essentially Shaltear's older cousins. This is what Shaltear pointed out at the end of last season. As a result, Aura feels a familial obligation to tease and lecture Shaltear, almost as if they were siblings. This familial bickering is why Aura and Shaltear argue so much, despite deeply caring for each other. But Shlstear secretly enjoys it as it strengthens their bond.
Hi, friends. Glad to see you two reacting to Overlord again! Now the second season begins, which is one of the best, which is saying a lot because they are all very good.
As always, I am going to mention some details that were not clear using information from the light novels and trying not to give spoilers.
in the first scene we see 2 individuals from the Slane Theocracy talking and the first thing we notice is that a woman is playing with a Rubik's cube. This is not an object from the new world but from ours and the man mentions that it is a toy left by the 6 great gods who worship in the new world, especially in the Slane Theocracy. That gives us a hint that these "gods" were actually Players who arrived 600 years before Ainz.
Then the woman mentions the "Dragon Lord of Catastrophe". This creature was the original target of the Black Scripture, who had the mind-controlling World Item and were heading towards where it was to capture it... When they accidentally ran into Shalltear and we are confirmed that, in that brief encounter, 3 of the most powerful individuals of the Theocracy were killed.
Finally, there is the detail that this woman asks: "¿Who is stronger, the vampire or me?" And the man answers: “You”. This statement is not a lie, but it is not true either. You must remember that the man only saw Shalltear for a few moments before the mind control was cast and never even experienced combat with Shalltear in her red armor. What happens is that this woman, who has the nickname of "certain death" is the trump card of the Theocracy and, according to the words of the author of the novel, "She could be the most powerful being in the New World" apart from the true dragons and the guardians of Nazarick. That's why that man assumes that she could beat Shalltear, but for now I'm not going to affirm or deny that. What I can tell you, without falling into any spoilers, we know is that she is stronger than Lupusregina, one of the Pleiades.
The next scene shows us a dragon and an old woman. The woman is no less than one of the 13 heroes (mentioned by the adventurers who accompanied Momon when he was escorting Nifrea) who defeated the “Demon Gods”, which means that she is at least 200 years old. The second is none other than the Platinum Dragon Lord, one of the most powerful dragons in the new world. From the conversation between the two we can deduce that this dragon was also one of the 13 Heroes, but he never accompanied them in person, but rather through armor that he controlled from a distance. Apparently, the rest of the 13 Heroes didn't realize until a long time later that one of their companions was actually a puppet.
This dragon knows about Ygdrassill, but not as a game, but as if he had heard about it elsewhere. He is a native inhabitant of the new world, but seems to know about the origin of players like Ainz and from his conversation we can also deduce that there were other players who came to the new world before, every few centuries. The Platinum Dragon Lord seems to think that the players are a serious threat to the world and is constantly on the lookout for them.
We then see in a Flashback that, sometime after Shalltear was mind controlled and before Ainz found her, the Platinum Dragon Lord encountered Shalltear and attempted to attack her in order to destroy her using his puppet armor. But Shalltear counterattacked automatically (attacking any hostile) and the Dragon decided to retreat after taking some measure of her strength, though the armor was damaged as a result.
In the novel, there is a dialogue between the two where Rigrit and the Platinum Dragon Lord lament the death of the leader of the 13 Heroes and then we learn that he had to kill a friend "who had come with him" at some point and he was so sad that, before dying, he made it clear that he did not want to be resurrected. So, we deduced that these two people were Players, although they might not be level 100 but level 60 or 70.
Finally, the Platinum Dragon Lord asks for a Magic Ring, which Rigrit had but has actually given to a young man, who turns out to be Gazef Stronoff. The ring has the power to make a person exceed human limits.
Then the story takes us to the kingdom, where we see again how little control the King has of his nobles, the same ones who tried to assassinate Gazef by selling him to the assassins of the Theocracy. The king knows this, but he can't do anything because he needs them to defend the kingdom from the Empire's annual attacks. This is only understandable if you pay attention to the dialogues of the nobles. In the kingdom, the king and Gazef are good people, but the vast majority are rotten with corruption.
In the next scene the story then focuses on Ainz returning to Nazarick.
The Guild Ring is an Item that allows you to freely teleport between the 9 floors of Nazarick, avoiding all traps, and was only used by Guild Member Players. Naturally it would be catastrophic if an enemy to get hold of one, so Ainz never takes his out of the Great Tomb. Hence, Mare is waiting for him to return it to him.
There are many of these Guild Rings in the treasury. Ainz gave one to Mare in chapter 2 and also to Albedo.
Clarification: No, Albedo did not marry Ainz off camera. What she is doing is a role-playing game, employing cliché Japanese anime dialogues usually associated with "newlyweds", in which the wife surprises her husband when he comes home from work, wearing nothing more than an apron and saying: ¿Do you want to eat?, ¿a bath? or ¿XXX? According to Albedo she is just playing around, but in reality, she is trying to tacitly establish herself as Ainz's wife, and then make it official. She thinks she's being subtle but in reality, it's incredibly obvious. However, as Ainz feels guilty for changing her behavior when the world was a game, he lets her get away with it, though she doesn't try to do anything else.
In Nazarick we see a depressed Shalltear who is trying to get drunk to no avail, even though, as a vampire, she can't get intoxicated, even if she wants to. The vampire's confidence has been terribly damaged: First she failed the mission Ainz gave her and ended up being mind controlled. Second, while she was under the mind control, she attacked the last of the gods that created them, an unforgivable betrayal. And Third... She lost. The strongest guardian of all, tasked with protecting not one but three floors, was completely defeated by Ainz, who had a clear initial disadvantage. So yeah, her ego is pretty banged up.
We then see that Aura is building a "fake Nazarick" to mislead any attacker. Sebastian is in the Kingdom, gathering information. And Ainz tells us about 2 new countries: The Council of Agrand and the Sacred Kingdom. The Agrand Council or Council Alliance (name is not clear to me) was founded by dragons and they have a mixed human and demihuman population.
Roble Holy Kingdom is quite far from Nazarick, but Demiurge has set up a factory there to create "scrolls". Now, ¿why do you think Demiurge has decided to make scrolls so far from Nazarick? I'm not going to tell you yet, but it has to do with the fact that parchment paper is made from animal skin.
Finally, in the last scene we have the declaration of war by the Lizardmen. But the curious thing about this part is that, although it is evident to us that it is Ainz, the name "Nazarick" is never mentioned.

If you notice, the "Six Great Gods" that must have been players showed up 600 years ago, they also mention something else that happened 100 years ago, referencing something that had to be Yggdrasil-related, this is a reference to the "Thirteen Heroes" that was mentioned last season by the adventure group Ainz ran with. One of the Heroes had Black swords, The Dragon and the old woman were talking about being part of that hero group, and that there was some "Players" involved in that group. This (and other events) shows that players seem to show up every 100 years. That's the reason those two know about Yggdrasil stuff, as they were working with a few players in the past as "forces for good", but the Dragon thinks the current "Players" might be an evil group this time.
Because there already was a group of "bad" player, The Greed Gods.

It's not to be a killjoy but a season 5 would take a minimum of 4 more years to come out, although at least there is a movie on the horizon....
By the way, in case you didn't get it, the dragon from the beginning controls the armor from the distance as if it were a drone.
season 4 is finished, theres gonna be a movie doe, it set in the middle of s4, kinda messed up that it got delayed so i wasnt released in the middle like it was suppost to. So if you only watch the anime seasons you will what happened
Btw the elven twin Aura had that reaction to the watch because the voice (bukubuku chagama) is the guild member that created the elven twins.

All I can say is that after season 1 my pal was all "yeah cool" but during season 2 all the questions flooded out. Season 2 is the "World" season.

3:06 Guildweapons, not to be misstaken with "world items", this is NEVER brought up in the anime but Ainz's golden staff is one of these "guild weapons" and during the game(Unclear of how it is after the isekai moment) if these weapons were destroyed, the guild would be forcibly disbanded.

7:15 Regarding what is planned and available at this point. There is a movie coming soon taking place between EP7-8(or 8-9) of S4. The end of S4 covered the latest material we could read in the novel and i haven't heard anything beyond that, wich leads me to believe the following part/s of the novel is still being written? So it'll probably take a while.

The anime, specially those subs, didn't show that the Dragon didn't actually know how to pronouce Yggdrasil, showing that he was actually not a player.
Also, no he didn't transform into a dragon after his fight with Shaltear, he simply remote controls the armor/weaponds

You forgot to say about the ring, that everyone guardian who has it, must do the same. Ainz ordered that. He doesn't want that any of the ring gets in wrong hands, because, like you said, anyone who has it, can freely teleport between the floors.

I swear, *ALL* the Overlord openings are bangers. Usually an anime has one or two that are weaker than the rest, but not this anime.
Spoilers from the Overlord light novel not included in the anime.
The anime doesn't cover this, but the "parchment" that demigurege (however that is spelt!) is making is made from the skin of humans and demihumans that are living in slave camps controled by demi, and they are skinned alive then healed or ressurected as needed.
They conduct also all sorts of crazy experiments and torture on them, like cutting of a family members arm then healing it back then making them eat the arm that was cut of, research on how to interbreed between species in order to figure out how ains can father a child that they can serve when he is gone and other terrible things of that nature.
My knowledge on all this is second hand as I have yet to read the overlord light novel but ive seen plenty of reliable sources talking about these things.

This is one of my favorite things about overlord compared to other isekai. Compared to them where the story is entirely just the protagonist’s journey, here you can see that theres already BEEN a story going on that ainz just joined in. Kind of like Tolkein inspired, yes frodo is who you follow through lord of the rings, but it’s not his story, it’s a story he’s just moving through

They guy at the start really thinks that the girl with the black and white hair is stronger than Shalltear, but he didn't experienced the real strength of Shalltear fully armored, even so the other girl is like level 80, Shalltear is level 100, have better equipment, 0 possibilities to win a 1vs1
Nope, not zero, she can use "TGOALID" (she has a special skill, that lets her use abilities from other people, through their weapons, and she has a weapon of one of the gods/players who was an overlord), and if she has any instant type death spell, she can kill anyone even from Nazarick, IF she survive the delayed time before the spell activate, because i don't think she has cash shop hourglass to insta cast the spell.
@@TsusakuCohenat most part of the Guardians from Nazaric have insta death counter spells, Ainz told them to have that always prepared, also they have Shadow Demons in theirs shadows, like a meat shield... or shadow shield? Anyway, I don't think she can win, but maybe 1% of possibilities against Shalltear?
