There are a plethora of channels out on TH-cam about camping and backpacking, but to say that Bushman and Blue stands head and shoulders above them all would be to massively understate the position. I don’t think that I have ever enjoyed all your videos, and particularly this one, so much. To have a delightful family as well who are so obviously enjoying themselves just adds the icing to the cake! I realised that I had been smiling continuously throughout the journey, even during the unfortunate ‘finger incident’ which was treated with aplomb and humour. This beats pretty much everything in TV; thank you Alan, Nicola, Poppy and Blue the swimming dog 👏👏

I did that route in reverse a week before your trip and it’s a cracker. However the best bit is to see all of you have a great time together - a very positive message about remembering to find time for the people in our lives that really matter… speaking of which, hope your Dad is well and still going strong.

We used to take our girls walking, cycling and camping (lucky to live in the Peak District) and they've now had adventures all over the world. Great for building confidence & love of nature. I feel for Blue, being chucked in was my introduction to swimming. What a dog, those eyes and yet he is so happy! Watching this after stabbing my hand with a no 2 Philips screwdriver, almost went right through, so empathy😆!

Thanks mate. It’s definitely about finding balance as a kid and experiencing as much as possible. I never read (only what I had to for school and uni) and spent all my time outdoors or playing sport. I always say I’ll start reading when my legs stop working. Better a book for kids than a tablet 😉👍👍👍

Wow what a great memory maker, beautiful around the tarn. Wild camping is how it should be. The dog is Bluetiful. Accidents can be a game changer in the mountains, I was coming down devils kitchen and snaggeg my crampons in my trousers and fell forward onto my axe, puncturing my ribcage ....🥴 Luckily it was not too bad. My Goodness, this took me back a few years. On one of my very first parent free holidays I stayed with a friend at Seatoller House. I remember the proprietor had a tame fox as a pet. The very first walk we did was Scafell Pike via the Corridor Route. Didn't camp at all. We had to be back at the digs every night. Beautiful video as always.

Last time family camping I brought 2 person tent with my wife and 3 years old daughter, just sleeping pad with no sleeping bag, a quite warm in a night in tropical Indonesian weather.
Ah mate, just watched this video again when I was searching for family wild camps and it reminded me of how I initially wanted to get my kids into wild camping and hiking the lakes. Ollie (5) and I have been doing it for a few months now and the little mite has just racked up his 38th Wainwright last weekend - the difference being it was a wild camp up on Black Fell with his 2 year old sister. Don't care what anyone says, but there truly isn't a better felling in the world, seeing them free and learning so much along the way. Cheers buddy

I watch a lot of camping and hiking channels, and if I was to guess who would need sticking back together it would be the bushman ! I take no pleasure in being right, but as you progress through middle age you basically become more accident prone. ! ( take less risks )
I'm new too your channel and have finally caught up with watching your videos.. you have truly inspired me to get myself back on track and fight my demons. I've a Couple of bits of gear to arrive and I'm off on my road to wild camping I was once in the mountains all the time then covid stripped me mentally. I've found myself again with help your videos have totally brought me back to those mountains I've missed I'm back in my comfort zone.

My Goodness, this took me back a few years. On one of my very first parent free holidays I stayed with a friend at Seatoller House. I remember the proprietor had a tame fox as a pet. The very first walk we did was Scafell Pike via the Corridor Route. Didn't camp at all. We had to be back at the digs every night.

Last time family camping I brought 2 person tent with my wife and 3 years old daughter, just sleeping pad with no sleeping bag, a quite warm in a night in tropical Indonesian weather.
There are not many days here you get to sleep without a sleeping bag 😂

Ah mate, just watched this video again when I was searching for family wild camps and it reminded me of how I initially wanted to get my kids into wild camping and hiking the lakes. Ollie (5) and I have been doing it for a few months now and the little mite has just racked up his 38th Wainwright last weekend - the difference being it was a wild camp up on Black Fell with his 2 year old sister. Don't care what anyone says, but there truly isn't a better felling in the world, seeing them free and learning so much along the way. Cheers buddy

I watch a lot of camping and hiking channels, and if I was to guess who would need sticking back together it would be the bushman ! I take no pleasure in being right, but as you progress through middle age you basically become more accident prone. ! ( take less risks )

I've a Couple of bits of gear to arrive and I'm off on my road to wild camping I was once in the mountains all the time then covid stripped me mentally.
