No matter how many non-book readers try to downplay their love, we all know ron and hermione are the cutest couple😍
I also thought that Harry thought of Ron and Hermione like siblings, as he never had any friends or kind family growing up. So it seems silly to make Harry fall for Hermione.

Hermione and Harry are two minds too brilliant to fall for each other. Hermione and Ron on the other hand complement each other, when they say "opposites attract" they are the perfect example.
Idc what anyone says, the build up, the slow burn was perfect. I love harry and hermione as platonic besties. Most stories have the main chosen one end up with the main girl/guy(katniss and perta lol). And most of the time it's good. Harry potter is one of the exceptions and I LOVE IT FOR THAT. plus again rominone is a phenomenal slowburn and the acting was soooo gooood.
I don't think the romantic type of love is special, and I think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death. I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse. People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse. Romantic relationships are pointless, while platonic relationships are not.

What I don't get is that everyone ships Harry & Hermione like they're the Jack & Rose of Hogwarts. Yes, they get 90% of the 1-on-1 onscreen moments throughout the movies, but they just see each other as brother & sister.

@@joshmontemayor1212 Not really. They have two major arguments, one of which was over some irrelevant thing when they were 13, and 99% of the time have a very close relationship. The rest of their “arguing” which annoys Harry, comes off more as them engaging with each other for fun, and comes of more as debating honestly, which contributes to them having a close relationship if anything. See book 5 for example, where they are chatting away to each other quite happily as usual, heatedly debating some irrelevant topic, until Harry snaps at them for arguing, to which they respond by being offended.
