    Open signal, very nice app. Shows the cellular towers in your area and the direction from your phone.

    Thank you for the information. I am in a semi-rural area but my signal is constantly dropping and I get disconnected from the internet at least once per day or the signal is slow. I work from home and this is a big issue for me. So, thanks again.

    • @NB88

      I would add a little caution...this thing has been fantastic for signal for calls and text but data is dependent on the tower. For me, it's a rural tower and it's data transfer rate is really bad. Good luck with it.

    We used to install cell boosters in company cars so our people could get better reception on the road in remote areas. We drilled a hole in the roof for the added vehicle antenna.

    I did buy this after watching the first video last year. My signal was 1bar most of the time and allows took a long time to text. On days when I was able to check emails, it still was very slow. I did buy a unit that was Refurbished for less money and it has worked great. I know watch you tube very when I am at my off grid property and cable on my iPad at night! I would have to agree with the tower being the problem. When there are more people in the area, it does slow down but there does not happen the often. I am very happy with the purchase. Thanks

    I have the 4g weeboost and learned to NOT order them based on the size of your home that they advertise EXCEPT to DOUBLE whatever they say or more.
    The advertised square feet coverage is based on having a normal good signal that you wouldn’t need a booster for.... so my 1650 square foot home has good signal in about half my house but I also haven’t shortened the rg11 yet so that will make a difference although it could make it worse depending on feedback but since the verizon signal SUX.... it will probably make it better.
    I changed the cable to a larger rg11 cable but it’s not just the size of the cable. It’s also length and r11 is stiffer. Too short of rg11 cable and signal can feed back the signal and burn out the booster so every setup is specific.
    Also rg11 is expensive and I got @ 25 feet for free.... lucky me...
    I placed my outside antenna on a 4” x 10 feet pole that fit perfectly in my previous satellite base on top of my house as my closest tower is @ 5 miles... the higher the better within limits. Florida is the lightning capital of the world so ......
    My signal went from crappy /nonexistent to barely intermittent 5g to verizon lte inside the home but good enough to watch netflix and My phone is now my only internet service so it paid for itself and then some.
    The outside signal still sux so going to split it with an antenna facing the back yard and see what happens.
    I’ve had this thing for a year so you can see where it is on my to do list.

    There is a good chance your slow data speeds are actually due to the high tree density causing a bad SNR. If you could get your antenna up really high, above the trees if possible, you would almost definetly see at least 5-10mbps, even on a low frequency band.

  • @toddogre2491
    @toddogre2491 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Have you tried putting the antenna on a pole to get it up higher to see if it gets stronger. Put on pole then clamp pole in the place you have antenna now. Just a thought.

    Your signal strength between phone and WeBoost is good, but the signal strength between the WeBoost antenna on the roof and the cell tower probably has not improved much, if any. I have heard that cell towers picking up a weak signal will slow the data rate (for reliability sake). Your data may get faster if you mount your outdoor antenna higher, like on a small tower or a tall tree.

    So I bought a WeBoost for my RV since my land in Virginia has such poor cell reception. My opinion was it was a waste of $650 and then some. After using a GPS and its compass and buying an app to show me towers nearby and their carriers the WeBoost actually made my signal reception worse. Measured in decibels (not bars) it consistently degraded any signal regardless of which tower I pointed it toward.

    • @NB88
      @NB88  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you can get another one or get your money back. Mine works great and I wouldn't have any reception without it.

    • @aaronj08ar
      @aaronj08ar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's probably caught in a feedback loop. Make sure your inside antenna is not pointing towards your outside antenna. Also make sure you have the recommended distance, both vertically and horizontally between the two antennas. If it is in a loop it will just pick up and amplify the signal it has already put out, over and over and over, which was nothing to begin with. Hope this helps.

    I live a tiny although be it a city with single mom quality T-Mobile and the new Network has been pretty inconsistent so I had an idea to make a single booster from a satellite antenna booster just by laying the smartphone on some plywood with foil and the antenna input tape to the foil. Surprising it helped the bad internet and that's good because T-Mobile smartphone is basically my main computer. I might give in a buy a new fangled booster but they are expensive so I most be sure that junk is going to give me and any comrade the best T-Mobile for as long as I live.

    That is an interior antenna you have mounted outside that comes with most units in a kit. You must have gotten a re-boxed system. The other antenna you showed or an omni directional would have been better outside.

      Never hurts to ground anything for protection of the unit, but if there's no place too, then, no. lol.

    You really should update your video because their is obviously confusion over what registering the device with your carrier means. Yes it is only amplifying an existing signal. It’s not something you are adding to your plan or that you have to attach an account to.
    The carriers would rather not allow them but the FCC understands the need. In a rural area with few signals it is unlikely you will ever cause interference. When you register the device you are providing information that can identify your device on the network and if it is causing interference they can contact you requiring you to shut it down. I am providing the link to the FCC website. Maybe you can add it to your video description.
    I am surprised your equipment didn’t have the information concerning use.
