I have a story about this guitar riff
I first heard this song during a quick run at a Target store, at the height of quarantine. You know, mask on, in and out, no delays - I was in a rush. I heard the tail end of this song, and heard the guitar riff. But I caught no lyrics or anything...so then I went home and played it on the piano, and remembered it for months and months (this was at end of 2020)
I tried so hard to come into contact with the song again - I went back to that Target, I started listening to random modern funk tunes, looking up Target playlists all over the internet, attempting various kinds of music search engines. All to no avail.
I then talked to my younger brother and sang the riff to him, and using google assistant (he's nuts to have thought of this - I used other sound recognition systems and couldn't find it) he found this very song and sent it to me. This was two days ago. I had held this riff in my head for almost 2 whole years - so yes, it really is TIMELESS. I will never forget this song

This music is so freaking awesome. What an incredible arrangement of the beats and instruments. Everything fits perfectly. So cool with the strings in the end. Such dynamic and exiting songwriting/production. Love the guitar hook, the baseline and the husky girl voice. Even the shaker.

This is incredible. Every song sounds similar (almost every song shares the same sounds and instruments), yet totally different. In the best way possible.

cool that you mentioned that, i think the key to a good band is setting the instruments and working with them rather than the opposite approach of adding pick of the month sounds as other bands do
