    Thanks so much, from a do-it-yourself Meme' (grandmother). I have a VERY long, heavy duty (yes expensive) extension cord for my electric mower which my neighbor borrowed and ran over. Thankfully it was injured fairly close to the end of the cord so, once repaired, I will still have enough length to reach the parameters of my lawn. I feel confident now, after watching! This is on today's TO-DO list for sure! :)

    The most useful thing in here was showing what was called the "pinch plate" and the wire going underneath it. If you've never done this before, you might think the screw head goes directly onto the wire, but sticking it under the plate makes things easier.

    Great video. And good too to make sure you unplug the chord from the receptacle. 😂

    Hey I have a question on your Apple CarPlay video you said if I didn’t have a aux port I can connect the unit to my car via Bluetooth and would I be able to connect my phone to the unit for CarPlay all while it’s set up to the unit

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it would, in your case you would have the unit connect to your phone via Bluetooth, then have the unit broadcast to your radio in your car through the FM radio. The unit transmits on an FM channel and you set your radio to that channel.

    Great video. I need to replace the male end on a heavy duty 3 prong extension cord. I noticed the ground wire is pink instead of green. Is that common? Thank you.

      Interesting, I’ve been run into a pink ground.

    I always use an exacto knife and run it down the length of the outer sheath for 1 in and then go around the circumference from there. That way I avoid cutting the insulation on the wires. That requires less talent dexterity wise which I am very lacking in hahaha

    Great video, I wanted to know how would I replace my security cameras wires. I have old wires running from inside of my house to the cameras on the outside. I wanted to replace the cameras and maybe use the old wires so it would be easier but not sure because the old wires couldn't handle the new cameras. Thank you for your great information and videos

    • @makersandbreakers6612
      @makersandbreakers6612 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If they are low voltage wires you should be able to run them for the new camera. If your new camera needs romax wires you’d have to pull the old ones and fish new wire through.

    Can I replace my cord that has a GFI switch to a regular pigtail like the one you have on your video as long as the same voltage

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can, but you're sacrificing safety by removing the GFI.

    how about a 12g extension cord that got cut off away from the plug and now does not work. How to properly connect 2 ends of the wire which is middle of the extension cord.

    Do you no longer need an underwrighters knot?

    • @DoItYourselfDad

      Not with the clamp on these style of cord ends.
