    I LOVE your tutorials. I especially love that you show the written pattern in the corner of the video each round, so I don’t need to watch every single stitch being made if I don’t need to. You are always so organized and explain everything to perfection. Oh, and the patterns are beautiful! Thank you!

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Do you mean to have no heel at all? I'm not exactly sure how'd that would turn out. If I had to guess, I'd say, If you just skip the heel part, the fabric will bunch up a bit weird around the foot and may slip down when you're wearing them, but if you want to skip the heel you can most certainly try that!

    • @masuganut2082
      @masuganut2082 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheTurtleTrunk thank you for replying. Yeah like no heel at all so it’s an easier fit, I knit socks and seemed to like the fit of no heel BUT now that I read your reply, crochet socks are probably too thick for that. I’m sorry if I was confusing. I think I’ll just make it how you intended. They are so cute and I love the stitch! It looks so squishy and comfy!
      Thank you ❤️

    Hi there! Love your tutorials 😊 I’m currently trying to recreate these socks and I have a quick question: In the first row of double-crochets after the heel is finished, I’ve ended up with 2 extra stitches. (30 instead of 28) Where did I go wrong? I followed as closely as I could and counted the whole way. Help?😅

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I'm wondering if when you were working the stitches that prevent the gap on the sides of heel, you accidentally increased there. For those stitches, you'll be working 1 stitch over 2 stitches (if that makes sense). Here is a link to the written pattern: theturtletrunk.com/country-cottage-socks-crochet-pattern/
      It may be easier to read the directions for that round. Let me know if you're still having troubles and I'll try a help further!

    love hearing your voice. It is soothing. Please correct me if I am wrong. I watched the video and also used the written instructions. I am making the youth size. In written instructions on round 19 it says after making the stitch in the last stitch of the heel and joining to bottom stitched and start the actual sock it says to fpdc and then the dc. In the video you say just the opposite, This is the way it worked out for me. Does it have to do with the size

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sue! Thank you! Yes that part of the pattern is different for different sizes, so please follow what your size says in the written instructions.

  • @debbiecoffin302
    @debbiecoffin302 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am doing the youth size and where you join for the leg Round 19 I had to do the *FPDC, DC* 6 times (not 5) to get the right amount of stitches(24). Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if this is a typo and should be 6. Thanks for any input!!

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Sorry if that part is confusing, it is 6 times. How I wrote it was to work the *FPDC, DC* then repeat another 5 times, for a total of 6. Hope that helps!

      Sorry you would have to make a lot of adjustments for thicker yarn. You can try and follow the instructions for a smaller size but you will probably need to add more rounds to get the length right.

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      These will stretch after wearing. You can also steam or wet block them to help stretch them out more. If you decide to make another pair, you can use a larger hook around the ankles so they're a little wider.

    HELP!!! No matter what I do I am ALWAYS short stitches in the body of the sock. I go back, count my stitches (making the large men’s size) and inevitably have 34 or 33 stitches instead of 36. I can’t see a skipped stitch and it’s making me crazy😢
